Hiya Hoon, nice video thanks. Does the Lunar scale have a mode which starts weighing and timing when you start pouring, but then keeps on timing after you’ve stopped pouring? I think the mode with the triangle and square may be the closest to this but I’m not 100% sure. I use a mode which does this on my timemore black mirror scales for pour overs and Aeropress, I just tare if off and then press the timer button and it auto times and weighs when I start pouring but carry’s on timing like I say until I stop it manually or lift off the cup. Nothing wrong with my Timemore scales and really like them, but do like the smaller form factor of the Lunar and thinking of getting an espresso machine in the near future so I can pull some shots and also do some latte art 😀.
Thanks! I have a question. My LaPavoni professional leeks. And I can't make a shot without putting a catch while the boiler heats to temp. We changed all rings, could we have missed the right amount of grease.? I got no manual. Do I begin with handle up or handle down.
Hoon can I ask you can we get good espresso using commandante pair with flair 58? I own commandante but still hesitant to buy flair 58. What do you think hyung?
My first time ever own an Acaia Lunar scale about $400 US dollar specifically made and built for La Marzocco Linea Mini R! The scale can stop the shot once it hit at the preset weight! Pretty handy! If the Linea Mini and the scale is on at the same time. It will automatically switch to brew by weight function. I cannot access to other functions on the scale unless the Linea mini is off. Which is the only downside. Also the Lunar app is virtually un-functional with the LM Lunar scale.
Great scales. For espresso which mode do you use Hoon? I use flair 58 with it.. The mode I'm using is when you put a cup on it. The scale tare and starts the timer. Is this correct?
interesting to drive up a mountain or down to Death Valley and see if perhaps those require recalibration? also, if temperature requires recalibration? I would think scale compensates for temperature
Thanks Hoon. Good info. I really want the 2021 model however the prices are soo high. Ive seen some 2020 Acai Lunar scales at good prices uncertain whether I should go with it noting it does not have the flow rate feature...in saying that I doubt I would use it:) on Acai website I saw a good comparison table of both models and it seems that there is also better batter life with the new 2021 model. I'll keep thinking:)

Dual Boiler E61 don't recommend descale at home because you need to access the boilers directly and remove the heat elements to flush each boiler. The HX E61 with PIV you have the same coffee quality and you can descale at home because is the same clean process of single boilers espresso. I tried both E61 (BD and HX) machines and honestly produce the same quality espresso, Rocket have HX with rotary pump, I prefer Profitec/ECM.
