Start my New Year's resolutions at the Winter Solstice 2021. It feels better. I don't feel I'm catching up if I wait till the 1st.

We can make decision to change ourselves, our lives and things at any moment , so I don't plan any new year resolution for myself and that works

Doing a low spend YEAR. Kinda like the No buy but a little more flexible... you just set rules (example: only $30 a month for eating out/alcohol) but in general not buying anything new or non-essential 🤙🏽

Great video👍🏻 I align with many of your resolutions and here are my 3 new year resolutions which I wrote down last night:
    1) Alcohol Free Year
    2) Read 12 books (in the year)
    3) Exercise 100 times (in the year)
I have a little chart to tick off the books I read & exercise I complete -I love visual aids this really helped us to become debt free a couple of years ago.
    Happy New Year Everyone🎊

I start my resolutions in November, I have done for years. I find that when Jan 1 roles around I have already got what ever it is "in or out" of my routine.
As part of my November resolutions I started 18/6 IF, only eating whole foods and keeping on track with Dexa scans and I'm down 22 .5 lbs so come Jan 1 will start with that habit in place.
This also aligns with my no spend year which I have planned to start Jan 1, I needed some prep time and Jan 1 is a new tax year.
Intermittent fasting , (less food budget) and a no spend year will also address part of my saving plan for 2022. I did need to watch some RUclips videos to learn how to do spreadsheets to help in my financial plan and I now have that new skill as I start the New Year!
Thanks for your videos Gabe, keep them coming!

I'm not focusing on resolutions. I have picked 4 small habits that I want to develop by December 31st 2022. Instead of making a resolution to "go to the gym more" I am going to work to make going to the gym 3X a week a habit. I'm going to start with the easiest habit (using my planner daily to make sure I dont overload my schedule) and only start the next once I've gotten that one solid.

I feel like we don't understand the value of fiction and its impact on our lives. There's a whole set of people who think non-fiction > fiction, but the truth is, it doesn't matter what you read, it's what you absorb and how that enriches your day to day life.

Genuinely loved this! Some great tips here. I'm chipping away at my goals day by day, but my biggest goal for 2022 is allowing for failure. I think that's important; realising you will occassionally fail and how to best move on from that.

My minimalist resolution is to focus more on activities that give me a lot of comfort and joy. I'm learning about plant dyes and am very against fast-fashion these days. I get zero joy from going to the mall (shopping maul)... Learning a skill and creating something tangible is empowering. Minimalism is equally as much a state of mind as a physical space or object.

I don't do resolutions, as you point out above Gabe.
Start today with something doable. I'm looking to make my life even easier.
I have a parent in the final stages of Alzheimer's in a care home in a town half hour south of me and one parent still in good shape at home.
    Both are in their nineties.
My employment is almost full time, I look after the house, run errands etc etc. The house needs to be more accessible and organized.
We all have so much on our plates, to carve out time to rest and recreate is even more important. Make little efforts to improve your life, etc. etc.
I wish everyone all the very best in 2022 and maybe we'll finally be free of everything happening.
    Great video!

I haven't done it in a while but I used to challenge myself to read one very challenging book a year. One year I read the complete works of Shakespeare in about 2 1/2 months (a bit too fast to absorb). I also read The Republic by Plato and The Odysee and Iliad by Homer. I might get back to some other slightly more modern works (High school English class stuff from 40 yrs ago). I'll see about that. I've read a lot of self help and need to get out of my head and trust my gut more.

I really like the _"Do you something you can't"_ resolution! We can accomplish so many things, as long as we set our mind to it. If I look at my own life, I started a RUclips channel this year. Just hit 1k subs 🎉! But if I'm honest, that's a metric I can't control.
What I CAN control is creating videos consistently. In the process, I've been learning what makes an engaging video: scripting, a hook, editing. And with every video, I try to make it just a little bit better than the last one. When I started, there was this little voice in the back of my head, telling me I can't do RUclips. But it's channels like yours Gabe that got me started and keep me motivated.
    Happy holidays!

When you do get the Tesla please lease it. Don’t buy it outright. As much as I love electric vehicles the battery replacement is still a huge issue after 150-200k miles. Tesla quoting $15k for a new battery and older vehicles being left out of updates is concerning for long term ownership.

Giving up chips is hard!!! A healthier substitute is pita chips. Whole wheat (preferable) pita bread is cut up, brushed lightly with olive oil , sprinkled with herbs (optional) and toasted in the oven. Google will have the recipe. We are substituting these for taco chips, when we make Taco Salad. I hope that this idea will be helpful.
