IMO , I would avoid updates that just reads Optimizes software without a good description of what it fixes, or adds to functionality. Software probably only really works the best on newest cars when the cars are still under bumper to bumper warranty being fixed at the dealers and then after that the legal screws get put to Autel to either license or remove the functionality over time as they get older and more likely to show up in a aftermarket repair shop
It never worked anyway. I wasted $$$ on im508, xp400, km100, autel universal key fobs. Cannot make toyota 4runner, tacoma, tundra, ford explorer/f-series. I still have the key fobs they include with km100 because they did not work on any car I tried. Autel must be great for chinese cars
@@audriuskimtys7943 smart key is the best programmer for USA vehicle and 80% good for other non USA. But the token or subscription is expensive. Unless you make good money, it’s going to drain you. Most have it bc it can do a lot of newer USA models without a problem. I recommend now obdstat, xtool, ninja, launch(haven’t yet removed anything), XHorse and Lonsdor. Gotta have them all to keep playing. There’s also Zedfull, but that’s also expensive.
And if you already have updated, what to do then? 🤔 When you say add key, it won't delete other key's correct, but some other vehicles delete all key's, when you add key? 🤔
In USA , I have an IM508 that I recently renewed update and was disappointed on a few things .On a 2005 Ford Freestar with a 3.9 it didn’t appear to have programmable module option for PCM replace or parameter reset option to at least allow a used PCM with a VIN mismatch to at least establish communication on the network. On a 2009 Camry I had a working Master key, but unable to add a key despite the programmer read the same kind of chip ID as the working master key. I tried with my Maxi Sys Elite , and had no luck either, not sure I can blame it on the aftermarket key, since chip in it was same as working master key, and only 2 keys were registered in system😢
05 doesn't need perimeter reset. That's why it's not there. And autel can't change the vin in that one either. You need another tool to change vin and then do akl with autel or any other tool.
I guess autel forgot to remove that one feature, but I'm pretty sure after watching your video, they will go back and remove it. I disagree with the updates as the tool needs to be connected to the server to work, so update it or not, it will not do akl in toyota as soon as it connects to the server. After a few updates and you don't update, the tool becomes unusable. Your information is only half right, or is it half wrong 🤔. Toyota blade key no akl, got a different tool done it less than 5 minutes. Its an aftermarket tool war. check out the new player on the market. EAATA a lot of promising in that tool.
He has to download the Toyota software for it to be removed. Ill see how long my client will be able to get results with this update method for Toyota and if I have another opportunity to post his results I will. But in regard to the updating method, if that strategy doesn't work for you then you have to do what's best for our situation. This approach that I do on these updates prevents a lot of unnecessary headaches from downloading apps prematurely. So for example, if you downloaded Gm recently you will notice some features are missing. My strategy would be to ignore the update and keep on using the tool until you run into a problem. Once I look into the problem and exhaust all of my avenues to fix the issue, then I will recommend updating. Either way we are going get screwed over with the updates but I would rather get screwed over later, than prematurely if that sense lol
@AutelConsultancy i understand what you are saying, but most functions require the tools to be connected to the server, and whater the function is there or not. It will most likely not work. This is another slap in the face for the right to repair, and it's only going to get worse.
Eaata is straight trash had it for two months and almost every day I had to contact tech-support because something was wrong, and their excuse is”oh we’re fixing that now” or “ it will be available next week
@futurecryptowhale4256 eaata is up for some fight. Imagine calling in to get pin code and there's 5k people waiting on the same thing. The tool makes you call their number for canfd pin codes its a really bad idea. Just have to wait and see.

Autel is removing a lot of key AKL in the USA and other parts of the world. I will not be renewing my sub bc of it
I heared only toyota and lexus AKL removed...any other brand also?
Maybe we should migrate from Autel to Smart Pro key programmer? What's your opinion?
