Lovely!!! The beads are super valuable to them because of the work put in, just like fashion design here in the US, where a dress which is handcrafted with much detail-work can be worth thousands of dollars. Thank you
The shell money used by the Malaita people is also used as a traditional currency here in Papua New Guinea's New Guinea Islands region, primarily the island province's of East New Britain, West New Britain and New Ireland. Surprising , even the people of New Britain and New Ireland resembe the physical features of Malaita people.
The shell money produced by the Wala people of Malaita is from the Island Region of PNG - I am guessing from Lihir islands. Oral history has it that a woman from PNG brough the technology over to Guadalcanal and later to Malaita. I studied at UNITECH Taraka ,Lae in the late 80s and was able to compare notes with some PNG Island region students. The process for producing the shells is exactly the same though with slight differences in design. Another interesting factor is some people at YAP state of FSM also use similar shell money as in Wala Malaita and Lihir in PNG.
The country very nice and peace but be careful China come in they’ve nice with you country but later they take advance look like my country Vietnam the government have to listen to them I so up set we couldn’t freedom to speech because China took a lot advantage from us , African and Indonesia same thing they very alert now you can go google looking so I just let you know how China !
It's probably beautiful to visit other parts of Solo and I don't doubt they are interesting but I'm scared of crocodiles. Would they be problematic...just wondering.
Thank you for sharing the video. Great to see that you get to visited our country and also met good friends who became your family. Wish we could take you around during your staying there in Honiara. God bless🙏❤️
Thanks for your kind comments and hopefully we can meet next time I visit. I really enjoyed the Solomon Islands and would like to see more of the diverse islands.
I find it inappropriate to be speaking to these young kids especially females without their parents around. This comes off as quite creepy and suspect in a world of human trafficking and pedos…..
Thanks for the suggestion. I won’t do that anymore. I was just surprised when I saw they were twins, so that’s what caught my attention. But you made a good point. I didn’t think of it until you made the comment.
@@chairpants there is nothing normal about that even in other parts of the world where pedos go to commit there offences.
