One thing i noticed is that on the first mission with Peg, you have to wear a suit. It kinda makes Jon look like that whether you wear a suit or not, if you had the skill and power to impress Jon, you might earn his respect.
Gravelli is my favorite minor character other than Stubbs. He's on his death bed and he's crazy powerful, deeply respected and still in the graces of the feds.
My opinion on JP was he had the brains to earn money but not to run a Mafia Family. I think Mr. P was better off as a legitimate businessman rather than a criminal. Edit: You know, not even Mrs. P respects her husband.
You can't help but appreciate and respect the amount of time and work that Profesional puts into squeezing every last drop of lore and info out of these games.
“Moral of the story is I chose a half measure when I should have gone all the way. I'll never make that mistake again. No more half measures.” This quote sums up perfectly how JP keep making half measures to beginning to the end
@@johnclay2716We have the third game in the Mafia series for that if that’s what you’re looking for. Plus why would GTA 6 go back in time instead of moving forward with the times like the other HD universe games since GTA 4?
2:05:30 Consigleres are actually one of the few ranks in the Mafia were there's a historical precedent of them not having to be Italian. There were numerous high profile consigs like this usually ones who were adopted or trusted implicitly by the Don. The Italian requirement isn't really as much of a factor as they report directly to the Don and technically exist outside of the mob's chain of command, despite their recognized power and importance to the organization. Edit: You ended up addressing this a few minutes after i typed this.
There’s one deleted phone call from Pegorino after Niko kills Dimitri in A Dish Served Cold where Pegorino scolds Niko for ruining everything, that one phone call shows how Pegorino has lost it after trying to do everything to get onto The Commission
@@broden4838 This is the call Jimmy: “YOU SMUG F#CKING BASTARD, AFTER ALL I DONE FOR YOU???, YOU PLAY ME LIKE THIS??!!!. I HAD THAT DEAL SET UP! How hard would it be to suck up your pride to do one deal??!!! Now, I got nothing left to lose” Niko: “Hey, sorry things didn’t work out, goodbye”
@@broden4838 I still got it maybe because my version was downgraded. I was laughing so hard at him raging about his whole plan falling apart. Feels like the last time there's a laughable moment with him until you go after him relentlessly for the last mission
The thing is Pegorino is desperate and he really wanted to be on top of everyone else. When things don't go his way he acts very aggressive towards everyone even wanted them dead. Just like how when Niko said how he didn't want to work with Dimitri Rascalove because they had history, Pegorino threaten Niko saying "Do it or me and you are gonna have a problem". This just shows how desperate he is for those to do his dirty work so he stands out. Of course if the player picked Revenge, Pegorino does find out that Niko didn't work with Dimitri, so as a result he lashes out and tries to kill Niko at the Wedding but ends up killing Kate instead. Again it shows how much he is willing to go after those who "double crossed" him and wants them dead.
If you do the deal Dmitri betrays Pegorino which is super ironical as well since Niko knows best that Dmitri is greedy selfish rat + Niko knows that the Commision families have a big problem with the Russians trying to take over the heroin market. Pegorino dies because he refuses to listen to Niko because of his boss-pride.
This reminds me of a Game of Thrones quote from Tywin Lannister: "Any man who says 'I am the King' is no true king". Power isn't about telling that you have power. It's about showing it.
I remember seeing the article of Gravelli passing away and was actually upset even though it was inevitable. When you have that feeling towards a video game character who wasn't exactly a good person, you know it was a well written character.
Pegerino is like Florida Jokers threatening to sue rockstar with 6 final warnings for making a reference about him in the trailer claiming that he brings them attention when in reality he's a joke
Interesting that Pegorino is based on Phil Leotardo who is played by Frank Vincent who is also Salvatore Leone in the 3D GTA. All I hear is Salvatore while watching the Soprano's scenes.
Wait but his whole back story and a lot of his details are based of tony, he even owned a strip club like tony. I’m confused how he’s based of Phil Leonardo, I see 0 similarities both back story and personality wise.
@@jbatts834Nothing more than visually. Even then, Peg and Frank Vincent are generally italian looking, nothing more. The family had Soprano's traits, but are really based of the DeCavalcante family
He wanted to have good guys into my family. But he compromised. He hired bunch of goons more brawns than brains. Jimmy having 20 years of being an Alderney clown.
@@sebastianmarcu4368 "20 years in the can. I wanted a Heart Stopper. I compromised, I had Fowl burgers and Spunk out of the toilet, instead." -Jimmy Pegorino
Something that’s also interesting about Phil’s situation is that since 2000 the mob doesn’t trail your family roots back as much anymore, as long as your father is of Italian heritage you can be made. Keeping in mind his surname, his father is probably not Italian but this reinforces the fact that Pegorino could’ve easily made him without raising much concern or mockery among the other families.
I love the in-depth lore to this! It made sense why Peggorino compared to other mafias are weaker and are taken as a joke. It’s literally a one man operation with no strong support with just Ray by his side. These writers did a great job implementing the mafia structure tree and shown us the big difference of the previous mafias vs the Pegorinos. This is a great deep dive analysis!!
Also does anyone else find it strange that for a Liberty City family who is the weakest out of the other families on the Commission, The Ancelotti’s are mentioned a lot in the game, you’d think that Old Man Ancelotti would’ve made an on screen appearance in either gta 4 or TBOGT after his 2 Capo’s Frankie and Chubby Charlie were sent with the fishes and when his daughter Gracie got kidnapped.
That's the point. The Ancelottis, like the Pegorinos, screw up a lot, so they show up a lot and are targeted by smaller criminals. You saw Rocco and his uncle, if those guys are made.... well. My point is the Gambettis and the Pavanos are way stronger and working for Jon Gravelli you notice that. While Jimmy Peg is dealiing with small time crap, the Gravellis run politicians, can step on the whole Russian mob and are capable of bringing Darko from Switzerland in chains
@@theportugueselegend I mean even Fredo in the godfather is made. A lot of people being sons or tied to the mob by family in someway will be made even tho they have no business being in the mob.
Pegorino was the laughingstock of all the Mafia, a walking joke. And paraphrasing Marlon Brando's character in the movie On the Waterfront... Pegorino: "I could have been a Don!"
21:34 I don't think Ray's the only one. We see him most of the time, sure. But because we work for him. And also it's possible that the guy behind peg in cut scene for Pest Control is the underboss. (He looks as old as peg, but he also could be just a soldier). Still from the game it seems that Phil and Ray are making like a half of family's money. Shows how incompetent are other captians and Jimmy himself, if he don't have a guy in his family who could earn
I agree, cause just like in the sopranos or better yet in the godfather there could easily be more soldiers and capos that are never seen on film. Cause like you said Phil and Ray are probably the top earners in the pegorino family that’s why we see them the most with Jimmy because they have a lot more say so cause they bring in the big bucks. My guess is there might be another capo or two running around in Alderney that we don’t see cause they don’t bring enough to the table to warrant pegorino taking their opinions. What I always wondered during one of the cutscenes in TLAD Ray mentions to Johnny that he’s got a boss that’s a paranoid wreck, and someone else above him with a brain like an artichoke which makes me wonder is there someone else that might’ve been an underboss or a capo that’s got a little more say so in the family that we don’t see
Niko was John Wick, he was sent on impossible missions and managed to survive, then his former employer attempts to kill the guy you send to kill "the guy" and he misses. Pretty much the same concept
Looks like there's a new reason why the Revenge ending is canon. Why would anyone work with Dimitri, a man who stabs people in the back, and Jimmy P, a mob boss who wants to be big time so much that he doesn't know what he's doing, has poor judgement, and has terrible leadership?
I think Niko would be more likely to listen to Kate since a woman can blind you and she gives more reason compared to Roman who just thinks about money
JP: I know you got history with that Dimitri but we need to do this! Niko: So since you also have "history" with the Pavanos let us go pay a visit to them first.
We will be watching this TheProfessional. This may be one of the best lore videos I've ever seen on your channel. I am so glad that I'm your channel member for a year! It's a long-long road ahead until GTA VI comes out.
You kinda got it right with the lack of consigilere not getting advice but thats not the real reason why the pegorino failed as a family, the main reason you have a underboss and consigilere and caporegime is to have a buffer between the boss and soliders and associates
I like how in the revenge ending, Niko doesn't even feel the need to disarm Pegorino, who's clearly brandishing a pistol. No one ever treats him as any kind of a threat.
Funny thing about Phil being Irish and not being able to be made, despite being very qualified for entry and assignment to positions like capo or even advisor/consigliere in the family, is that the Messinas have an Irish underboss named Harry Hall in the LCPD database, and theres no apparent problems there. So even in the commision, one of the families was able to break the old rule and appoint an Irishman, why not the no-name gumbas from Alderney? Its been done by a mid-teir mob family so it shouldnt be too crazy to think of it being done by the nobodies out in Alderney. Truthfully, Pegerino is too narcissistic to take advise from anyone. Having an advisor is against his philosophy as a boss, and is why he fails, like The Profesional points out.
Meh. Just because the Lupertazzi's underestimated them a lot. And few people liked Philly. In just the last two episodes of the show theywacked almost all of Jersey, including Tony
Fun fact: in The mission pest control you were supposed to choose between either killing Ray or Phil . Ray would give you a big cash reward for killing Phil and phil would have given you a smaller one But it was changed possibly due to ray becoming an antagonist in Lost and damned
Ray is like a one man army. Though he is a scumbag, he is a good earner and he should have gotten more help from Pegorino. He is the only capo which was also putting pressure on him.

It won't you can't make games like this anymore it will be called racist and offensive. And Sadly Rockstar has decided to full on appeal to that crowd of people.
Also there's cut calls that give Pegorino a greater presence than in the final game Little Jacob would've talked about them and referred to the family as mascots (basically jokes) Also there was a cut call after killing Dimitri where Pegorino flips his shit and screams at Niko
I'm still Watching the Video Pro, I need to say this... This video is incredible, you took your time you shouldn't worry, because the results are incredible. One thing you forget to mention is this. Teddy Benavídez is also an Associate of the family, if you check the LCPD record you'll see that he is an associate of the Pegorino Family. Ray had him killed by Niko because he didn't respect "The waste management process" (Or something like that). I used the same line that Ray used to explain why he Wants Teddy dead.
Just realised today. Pegorino in both endings died to a gunshot to the face, right between the eyes. I think this is meant to mean that Pegorino was so arrogant, so narcissistic, so full of himself. That he was blind to what he had in coming to him, even when he was facing it with his own eyes. Even with cold reality in front of his very nose. He was delusional to the end.
1:51:30 I personally assume he choose now to do it because he knew he could pin the blame on Niko and avoid trouble with Peg's loyalists or the 5 families. Same reason he has his men start killing Peg's men midway through a firefight, it's the perfect cover.
been watching you for 6 years now man. Pretty sure you had just over 100k, and were mostly doing GTA Online content. I just had a really long night at work and i come home to a 2 HOUR LORE VIDEO FOR GTA IV??? this is a blessing. All the love and prosperity to you pro, your videos make my life a little better
Just a few days ago I rewatched the gta iv play through. And I remember you mentioned making a Pegorino lore video soon and I had literally told myself that I wonder if it’s still happening, then lo and behold here it is! What timing!
It's a testament to how varied and interesting the cast of GTA IV is that, in addition it's a regular villainous factions, there are villainous factions who want to "sit with the cool kids" and yet are no less well written than their more established counterparts. Not every antagonist needs to be the main antagonist
What a very, very great lore video this is - I’ve been waiting for this one for so long! I can’t wait for your lore video on Ray Boccino. I’m also looking forward to your lore video on Claude from GTA III, and will you still do your lore video on Donald Love and his Old Oriental Gentleman friend’s disappearance, like you promised during your GTA III - The Definitive Edition playthrough? 2:15:51 - and I’m sorry, but I just can’t help but hear Salvatore Leone instead of Phil, lol
That's what I love about these lore videos. I hated Ray as a kid but I've grown up now at 30 to really see that this guy was actually really talented and kept getting screwed over. I'm happy that R* gave Phil a happy ending by him packing his shit up and leaving when Pegorino goes on a rampage. It would have actually been really cool dlc to have played as Phil and went through the ranks of working towards a better future with a different family.
1:46:16 one detail I liked is that Niko usually declines drinks when he is offers in a mission, like with playboy offer him a drink and he declines, but this is the first cutscene that Niko drinks while on a mission just shows you how much he disrespects and doesn’t take Peg serious at all.
I think if Pegorino ordered Niko to kill Dimitri and wiped out the Russian mob, that would've been enough to gain Gravelli's respect and since his family was most powerful that would've been enough for him to get him in
You’re one of the best lore RUclipsrs I’ve seen. There’s something about the way you explain things that really pulls me in. I think it’s because you sound like you’re speaking naturally from your own mind instead of reading from a script with no emotion.
At the end of the day, if you're visibly desperate to gain someone's respect, you'll never get it. Whether it's someone you like romantically, a friend group, a social class - you'll never be taken seriously if you're trying to get in with them all the time. Pegorino would have been far more respected by the Commission if he didn't bother trying to get a seat, and rather just focused on building his business in Alderney, and solidifying it as his undisputed turf.
Okay So I basically watched the entire video And here's my take on this Jimmy Pegorino is not only a bad boss But also, a corrupted leader Always believing That he will bring change for the greater good But doesn't trust his associates And hires anyone who could potentially rat him out A real boss should be the intimidating figure that everyone admires and respects A real boss doesn't run away from a fight and pretends to be a big shot They take legal action And help the family Become stronger and powerful But clearly, he did none of that He mistreated Phil, Ray Antony But also Nico as well Nico deep down, knew what a total punk and terrible person he is And respected Jon Gravelli, because Jon kept to his word And people respected him Because he doesn't pretend being somene else And he admits or regret things he has done Also, great job once again Professional 👏👏👏 For putting so much effort and hard work into this video And showcased another brilliant lore video Brilliant work 👏👏👏👏👏
honestly wish there were more missions for ray and phil in the game, they are truly underrated characters and it would have been nice to see rockstar take on the whole italian mob setting in gta 4 more
Hey Professional great video!! This is going to pretty much be my favorite lore video from you of all time. I really like this Mafia stuff I can’t see myself doing anything like that because of all the consequences that come with it like someone snitching to the authorities, problems with other gangs/families, and most importantly getting put out of the equation, I know most guys who do that line of work will most likely have a violent death and that’s why despite how much of this kind of stuff I see in this game or The Sopranos that’s why I WOULD NOT do it despite how much money can be earned.
I loved this video!! Couldn’t wait for you to release it for years!! I wanted so bad to hear you talk about GTA IV, The Sopranos and Mafia in general, it was just so satisfying. So many connections, you can definitely tell that Rockstar loved The Sopranos and this just shows what a great show it was. Purely one of the best shows of all time, if not the best. Even Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, said that without Tony Sopranos there would’ve been no Walter White. An exceptional show. And the way Rockstar got inspired by The Sopranos, created a New Jersey (Alderny) Mafia that is not taken serious, but made the best decission to create a boss to that Mafia inspired by the worst boss of The Sopranos show (Phill Leotardo), it’s just perfect. I mean, if they would’ve based The Pegorinos one to one to The Sopranos, with someone like Tony boss, they would not have too many possibilities. Tony was, after taking everything into consideration, a good boss. Niko would’ve respected someone like Tony, and they would’ve had a good partnership. So the game couldn’t be so much a drama, probably if someone like Tony would’ve run The Pegorinos with Phill Bell Consigliere, Ray Boccino Underboss, Anthony, Luca and others Soldiers and Niko as an associate, they would 100% kill Dimitri, join The Commission and the game would most likely have a happy ending. But by creating Jimmy P based on someone like Phill Leotardo and putting him the leader of a pretty weak Alderny family and making him doing so many mistakes, they were able to make GTA IV a true drama story, a masterpiece. You got to love the GTA IV story, it’s just so brilliant. And The Sopranos, God, I wish that we would still got shows like that. Even tho I heard about it many years ago, I only watched it last year, 2023. After my 23rd birthday. And after finishing it I started to watch it again with my girlfriend. Yes, it is that good of a show. After watching it the second time I understood many things that you just can’t get right when you watch it the first time. We both loved that show, James Gandolfini’s act was brilliant, Cristopher it’s definitely the source of inspiration for Jessie from Breaking Bad, Silvio and Paulie were so damn pure italian, I love that series. Maybe that’s also why I loved GTA IV since I discovered it back when I was 9 years old (2009). I love those type of stories, and I love NYC and New York State. The vibe is so damn good. The American Dream seen thru italians, serbians, russians… I am from România, so I can relate to that dream.
The fact that brother Pro made a 2 hour analysis over a character that's in 3/3rd of the game, definitely shows how much better the writing was in GTA IV.
I absolutely love the lore videos you come up with, especially if they're tied/connected to GTA IV/EFLC. They definitely do help me out if I have a question regarding something of the lore that my brain cannot come up with since I have ADHD.
The Pegorino family being based, on a surface level, on the Soprano family while Jimmy himself is actually based on the on New Yorker who most looked down on the Sopranos is some pretty fun irony. I also found it interesting that the Lupertazzi family actually seems to respect the Sopranos, and particular Ton', quite a bit more than the LC families do Pegorino; not only are Johnny Sack and Carmine Jr. friends of Tony S, but they've got tons of inter-twined business deals going on, and, as much as Sack does start trying to muscle in once he's in power, he still does sit-downs with Tony and goes about it all fairly diplomatically. He's stepping on Tony's toes where the LC families were just treading all over Peg
Yesss pro. You're a masterpiece at making lore videos and Rockstar is amazing at making lore let's hope to see some GTA VI lore videos in the future when it comes out ❤ Edit: I forgot to thank you for all your hard work as well we appreciate it as viewers to your dedication.
I feel that the Pegorino family was inspired by the Saints Row gang Vice Kings. Think about what Benjamin King told Warren about how he came to high prestige. Ben King knew when to stand by, when he should act, and used legitimate business as an actual cover. Pegorino only wanted to act, never had the brain power to have negotiations, and desired revenge like a thirsty dog to water. He couldn't ever be respected for his desire for total mafia control, and revealed himself to be like a moth to a bug zapper. To quote, "With pride comes the fall, a haughty spirit before destruction".
You have to put respect on the professional nobody else can put together a video that's nearly 3 hours long with this kind of lore and call backs and references to other series with similar themes. Appreciate you brother keep it up you're one of the best gta youtubers
Pro I really appreciate your efforts and I love your lore videos. I just wanted to express my thoughts. I think Jimmy received fed problems also due to Ray’s actions and constant assassinations ordered by him. Also, killing off the Ancelottis was a means to acquire their seat on the Commission at some point. As for Ray i think it’s a 50-50 chance he was a rat or not. Sure Ray knew that Jimmy was paranoid but travelling with bodyguards is something he never did. As for Phil, he likely advocated for Ray’s death as Ray did for him. Jimmy chose to trust the more loyal person. As for the heroin deal’s buyers being the Ancelottis it makes far more sense than you think. Niko and Phil are arriving at the deal. Dimitri knew that. Phil and Niko orchestrated the murder of the Ancelottis underboss Charles Matteo. They also likely wanted revenge for Gracie’s kidnap as Rocco did mention that Ancelotti was still angry about it during Party’s Over. Even if officially they made a deal with the Pegorinos, they still would’ve eliminated their top associates, thus no one would’ve cared as Alderney would have been taken over by the Five Families. I guess a part of me feels bad for Jimmy because really all that he wanted was to be acknowledged and grew up somewhere he couldn’t have learned how to run a family effectively, whereas other mobsters grew up in Dukes and Algonquin. However despite this I think Jimmy was resourceful in his own way and he was shown to be quite wealthy and his goons were very well-armed in both Endings. As for Dimitri leaking the cocaine deal to Jimmy, who knows. Dimitri wasn’t as powerful as he could have been as in during Deal. I don’t think Niko despised Pegorino. Just found him a wealthy contact and had straightforward regular respect to him.
I forgot this is discord but yeah I agree. Even after killing him, Niko feels quite sad looking at his corpse. He was angry at him for killing Kate but even he sympathized for him to some degree.
Jimmy is a huge douche screaming and being annoying all the time his also a huge narcissist its extremely hard to feel bad for him he refuses to run an effective operation and actually listen to smart people like Phil. Niko clearly does not fear or respect Jimmy in the slightest. Everything that happened to Jimmy was his own fault. If he listened to Phil he would have never gotten into contact with Dimitri and avoided tons of trouble with the feds.
1:52:46 Another reason that Phil didn't even help Pegorino in Revenger's Tragedy it could be because he learned that Pegorino betrayed Niko to Dimitri by letting him(Dimitri) sent his hitman try to kill him(Niko) in Roman's wedding. When Phil learned of it he decided to use it as a chance to escape
24:35 shouldn't Niko also light up? He does betray the Pegorinos in the Revenge ending. He agrees to do the deal, then backs down and takes down Dimitri. Great video, by the way. Top quality stuff, as always.
please don't feel the need to push a fast pace, you are pretty consistent on your quality and it makes it easy to be patient for your new content. and ofc, this video was a banger too.
Yes! Ive been waiting for this ever since i watched your Goated Gta 4 Playthrough! Defo will be watching this till the end! Congrats for finally completing this!
2:05:36 another thing is, Mafia families rarely followed the code to the t. Even in GTA, the mobsters break it for their own gain (best example is both the Forellis and the Leones entering the drug business, a venture strictly forbidden by the Code)
Just replayed, the game and realized how well written the mafia plot. Its full of so much symbolism and and themes of power and control and greed. I wouldn’t be surprised if that portion, was written mainly by Dan Houser. Really underrated part in his carrier
When Niko said that Jimmy is a joke at the end of the game it felt so good because you worked for the real mafia for a few missions. He was just another guy who thought he was something and got what he deserved.
You don’t “want” to be a member on the commission. The commission should “want” you to be a member. If they tell you to join them, it’s an offer you can’t refuse. **somber mandolin music**
Even Salvatore Leone was a better boss than jimmy pegorino, i guarantee that salvatore wouldn’t-be stupid enough to trust dimitri unlike jimmy pegorino especially savaltore paranoia
Sal would very much have Dimitri killed, most likely having Niko do it and steal the H to be sold by a more trusted man like Tony or Luigi. That said, not sure if he'd try to kill Niko. Niko wanted out, but I don't think Sal's paranoia would let him cut ties with Niko peacefully.
In a way, Pegorino is like the Salvatore Leone of the HD universe. Both got screwed over and over time got more paranoid started to distrust their own guys. The moment Pegorino pointed his gun at Niko was similar to Salvatore pointing his gun at Toni. Both were very paranoid at that point they didn't know who to trust anymore. In the end, both paid the price for their paranoia and betrayal.
Those similarities are true, but there are also differences The leones were the most powerful mob in LC at one point and the pegorinos were always a pretty weak "mafia". And salvatore became paranoid because he was betrayed by CJ, while jimmy p was always paranoid
The Leones were respected and people actually feared them and Salvatore. Jimmys Pegorinos mafia was always a huge joke and was never respected by anyone.
Behaviour wise probably but not for the organisation sense bc the leones are managed a lot better since they have more actual guys instead of basic associates
Jacob's dialogue in Revenger's Tragedy doesn't mean that Pegorino knew about Dmitri sending a hitman to the wedding, they assumed that but it's not known for sure if he did or didn't.

There were numerous high profile consigs like this usually ones who were adopted or trusted implicitly by the Don.

Something that’s also interesting about Phil’s situation is that since 2000 the mob doesn’t trail your family roots back as much anymore, as long as your father is of Italian heritage you can be made.

Cousin Roman wanted Niko to do it.

Finally the Pegorino family lore you promised us for months or a year to do. It took some copyright strike to get through this upload.
You kinda got it right with the lack of consigilere not getting advice but thats not the real reason why the pegorino failed as a family, the main reason you have a underboss and consigilere and caporegime is to have a buffer between the boss and soliders and associates
At least you finally got this one finished. Great work on this one just like the Floyd/Deborah/Trevor video and the Michael/Trevor/Brad one too.
I like how in the revenge ending, Niko doesn't even feel the need to disarm Pegorino, who's clearly brandishing a pistol. No one ever treats him as any kind of a threat.
My guess on why Ray knows so much about the pegorino’s operations is because Pegorino talked about it loudly in the house
It’s crazy how the Soprano "glorified crew” was winning the war against one of the top New York families.

Pegorino has no honor, no reputation, no loyalty, no respect, no power.
1:51:30 I personally assume he choose now to do it because he knew he could pin the blame on Niko and avoid trouble with Peg's loyalists or the 5 families. Same reason he has his men start killing Peg's men midway through a firefight, it's the perfect cover.

Okay
So I basically watched the entire video
And here's my take on this
Jimmy Pegorino is not only a bad boss
But also, a corrupted leader
Always believing
That he will bring change for the greater good
But doesn't trust his associates
And hires anyone who could potentially rat him out
A real boss should be the intimidating figure that everyone admires and respects
A real boss doesn't run away from a fight and pretends to be a big shot
They take legal action
And help the family
Become stronger and powerful
But clearly, he did none of that
He mistreated Phil, Ray Antony
But also Nico as well
Nico deep down, knew what a total punk and terrible person he is
And respected Jon Gravelli, because Jon kept to his word
And people respected him
Because he doesn't pretend being somene else
And he admits or regret things he has done

Hey Professional great video!! This is going to pretty much be my favorite lore video from you of all time. I really like this Mafia stuff I can’t see myself doing anything like that because of all the consequences that come with it like someone snitching to the authorities, problems with other gangs/families, and most importantly getting put out of the equation, I know most guys who do that line of work will most likely have a violent death and that’s why despite how much of this kind of stuff I see in this game or The Sopranos that’s why I WOULD NOT do it despite how much money can be earned.
And what we all immediately realized that Pegorino never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Pegorino wanted the manicott
One of the best long documentaries of your channel Patrick! Keep up with the great work!

@@beingadeeb2345 You're reaching with this one.
This dude's yapping is contagious, I see.
06:52 the beautiful Irish accent from Packie, I literally love this part where he talks so pejorative about them "guido gangsters outa Alderney" xD
24:35 shouldn't Niko also light up? He does betray the Pegorinos in the Revenge ending. He agrees to do the deal, then backs down and takes down Dimitri.
Great video, by the way. Top quality stuff, as always.
You know that the godfathers is a amazing movie when it's still being inspired in the modern day
please don't feel the need to push a fast pace, you are pretty consistent on your quality and it makes it easy to be patient for your new content. and ofc, this video was a banger too.
Imagine if Mikhail Faustin survives that betrayal, he would've had Niko kill Jimmy Pegorino in later missions
Perfect timing putting this Lore video out, im just playing through GTA 4 again
Those similarities are true, but there are also differences
The leones were the most powerful mob in LC at one point and the pegorinos were always a pretty weak "mafia". And salvatore became paranoid because he was betrayed by CJ, while jimmy p was always paranoid
The Leones were respected and people actually feared them and Salvatore. Jimmys Pegorinos mafia was always a huge joke and was never respected by anyone.
Salvatore had a stake in Caligula's and even a Liberty City Mayor in his pocket, while the Peg, has maybe his house? 🤷🏻♂️
@@heavyglamrocker1987 exactly
Behaviour wise probably but not for the organisation sense bc the leones are managed a lot better since they have more actual guys instead of basic associates
Jacob's dialogue in Revenger's Tragedy doesn't mean that Pegorino knew about Dmitri sending a hitman to the wedding, they assumed that but it's not known for sure if he did or didn't.
