    Never thought of using sticks. Great idea thanks for sharing. You could even get a piece of rebar to replace the post. Ground around here is rocky. Think I'll be doing this at the camp.

      You could always just cut a sapling off and do it that way too.

    Nice. This is wat bushcraft is about...making stuff off the landscape...not packing a bunch of cast iron gizmos into the woods in your bedroll and haversack

    Great idea. Moreover, when the ground is too hard to pound a stick in, as in winter, you could find a standing sapling and use that.
