My fix for that back when I was on the road would be to take 3 bungee cord nail them to the wood deck, make the necessary holes in the mud flap hang er over the back and header for home or to a welder that had 10 minutes to fry er back together. After 46 years on the road I had a huge bag of quickie fixes to save time and MONEY.
55:23 you know when you are flying up the Coquihalla you don't see all the things you do from a Big Rig at a slower speed. I am really appreciating it all. Especially the side views ... loving them and the water falls, etc.
In 1935 my 15 year old father jumpedanKVR freight by Myra Canyon and rode it all the way to Vancouver to look for work. He rode over the Coq sitting in the open door of a box car. He said it was the most spectacular ride of his life. He never found work in Vancouver, but ended up in a Government Relief Camp working in a sawmill at Cowichan Lake.
18:03 - The paint is faded, but this building marked like at an airfield with the red and what checkers is still there from long before the Coq was built. There used to be a gravel road, that was advised for 4x4, but I did it in a normal car and I think just about any car could have made it. Back then the red and while checkers were bright and new. I could never figure out what the building was for. It almost looked like it could host a cable going up the hill, and that's maybe why airplanes would need to clearly see the building, but who knows.
26:50 you were saying that here and there you can see there the railway used to run. When I drove the old gravel road, the giant wooden trestles were still in place, high up on the mountain crossing chasms.
I just " PAID $ 67.20 to have a passenger car tire repaired . ya $67.20 / there was a smal screw in the tire, not a big one. ( the big one came at the tire shop..)
That bracket looks like it came from Home Depot, $450.00 no, no way, BUT if it falls off and causes damage to others, I think they would be responsible...Woops, good afternoon Juan.🙃 The T-680 driver would make me nervous, center lane, no 4 ways, no nothing, gettin old Juan.
@JuanRempel I like the scenery. I have watch Jamie Davis when he is doing his thing. Highway to hell only during the winter because are going to fast or cutting people off. I am a four wheeler but have always respected the truckers. My brother and I were going to do it, but life had other plans.
Juan I think I would have moved the mud flap from the axel & bolted in place of the 1 that got tore off cuz U don’t need flaps except on the rear of the vehicle
You were wondering what the old highway was like, coming out of Hope. There's the "BC Road Trip Time Machine" video series, and this one is the Hope Princeton in 1966 ruclips.net/video/NsBUG3FXZr0/видео.html This is how an old guy like me remembers the highway - I remember as a kid loving to see that "Gateway to Vacationland" log across the highway, because it was always on vacation for me.
Before the slide, the road stayed on the left side of the valley all the way up (eastbound). There's a bit of this road still there going into the slide that you can walk to. Immediately after the slide, coming westbound, when you got to the slide and the road disappeared under the debris, there was a right angle 90 degree left onto a new bit that took you across the valley to the south side, where it had been easier to build a new road across the slide, as of course it was much deeper on the north side where it came down.
54:50 A mountain of rock. Iran is like that. I checked it out, why?. The Teutonic plates really hit hard a very long time ago and thats how the mountains where made. They have tons and tons of small rocks covering the landscape. I think Europe and North America were joined once upon a time.
i remember charging arrow 350$ for a call out to retorque trailer wheels in the middle of the night before 2 mins of work and easy money for me but the company policy at the time was if the trailer or truck had a retorque tag it had to be done before leaving for a trip made lots of money on the midnight switch guys at arrow back in the day 12-15 years ago now
@@JuanRempel it is but at that time my home was only 2 min drive away from their yard but that doesn't matter each truck was a separate call out could get 3-4 calls a night at times then it was wild like a slot machine for me but then i moved and it all changed

The higher view point helps, in a car all you see is concrete barriers
@@JuanRempel yes especially for those of us who are "too tall" to begin with ...
43:33 Top view from rear side camera. Absolutely spectacular.
57:33 is another awesome shot from the back view, such contrast!!! the river, forest, mountains and sky

Yes, some one told me there used to be a cable "car" that went up the mountain for avalanche control? All a bit hazy.....
This Sunday Im going on a road trip to Ashcroft BC that's my plan for this long weekend!!!
Awesome, we will be driving through there on Saturday

Ohh, I have a spare mudflap, the mudflap was not the issue, the mudflap bracket was the issue. I keep a mudflap in the truck as a floor mat.
I always make it to the end.
29:00 That truck looks heavy too.
Its interesting where you pop up on UTube. Lately, in amongst Outback Truckers
See you tomorrow Juan 👋
good on you Juan Keep it up enjoy all your vids

Dude highway 3 ends in medicine hat that's still like almost an hr from the sask border

Are those bolts and nuts possibly made out of platinumin so they will not rust? Crazy gotcha situation.
That would explain it
Only one grade below unabtanium.😉
doesn't look like they put lock washers on the bolts, without them they should probably shake off in no time!
Yea, we are going to get it welded asap.
Will that truck with its hood up just wait until it cools down? Presuming it is just overheated.
That, or might have to wait for coolant to be delivered. I've had to do that a few times
