I believe really its an inside joke of a nickname given to a mutual friend from both bands that you can hear the band all doing a "call and answer" echo effect, so, not necessarily subliminal as subtle hue, but yeah it's definitely in there. you're not just hearing things. also bigs up to the TATS upload. bama is heaven on earth.

I forgot where I read/heard this, but basically Trio are talking about George from Hot Water Music - Apparently George was never really into weed, hardly smoked it, never liked it, etc. etc, and always refused to partake when it was around. So apparently the story behind the line in the song is that Trio somehow miraculously convinced George to smoke with them one night, which was really out of character for George. as far as I can tell, the lyric was meant to be a tongue and cheek line to embarrass George - since he actually really ~does not~ smoke week. But they got him to do it that one time.

Such nostalgia. Used to listen to this split all the time in the 2000s. I haven't listened to HWM in some time but man I love the drums on this.

When I was 18 I saw Thrice, HWM and Alkaline trio, it was one of the more epic shows I've seen. I'm 36 now, that was half a life ago.
