@@BKDocHolidayi don’t think they are seperated by brand. Its more like the gibsons are the ones he really plays in the studio, and the ESP’s are what he plays in front of people for money
I don't even listen to Metallica or know much about Kirk Hammett but genuinely seeing him so enthusiastic about guitars is so fun to watch. Like he's always curious about them and is truly a massive fan of them. I really like the guy after seeing the videos recently truth be told.
Yep it’s where it belongs. And he plays it almost every night in front of thousands of people. Instead of it being locked up in some sleazy rich lawyers guitar vault collecting dust
Ppl need to stop worry about how much it cost! Kirk's purchase of the guitar, along with the respect he's shown for its legacy, has likely increased its value (and lore!) tenfold !!
He's a multi millionaire, great guitar player with a big name band Metallica. making history, making a remarkable guitar solo &riffs.. toured around the world.. So much experience.. And a great composer.. Selling million copies album and still continuing rock on a stage till now.. But he's still genuine,, enjoyable and humble human being.. What a great man.. Kirk you're the man.. ❤
He clearly still knows that it's a ridiculous price, probably even for him. That said, he actually sounds to be getting value and worth out of it. In his position, it's so easy to just be jaded and non-caring about material things, and he found something that still can make him panic and shed a tear if it gets damaged, just like someone buying their first nice guitar feels. Meanwhile, he could probably get an entire garage full of ridiculous cars and not feel half that or have half as much enjoyment from it. Good purchase.
I respect how much reverence and joy Kirk has for this guitar. It's like a modern day Stradivarius. But I'm not a fan of Heavy Metal and Metallica. Greeny needs to be in the hands of a Jimmy Page or Peter Frampton.
The great thing about gibsons is they get better sounding as they age. Fenders don't seem to have as much of that. I know from my lp and strat that it really is s thing.
Hi . I want to know how a guitar like that even shows up on sale ! Kirk are you going to leave it to one of your children??? It’s weird how a guitar so famous just got bumped around . I do hope you keep it in your family ❤
Well, think of famous people giving them away. George Harrison gave his SG to Pete Ham of Badfinger. He gave his rooftop Telecaster to Delaney Bramlett. Clapton gave his Fool SG to Todd Rundgren. They do bounce around
It wants to be played by me, obviously 😂😂😂 So Kirk, if you come to Amsterdam the Netherlands, come visit. I will hook you up with some amazing boutique built point to point amplifiers. You hook me up to try Greeny 😊 We both will be happy, and Greeny will get her wish as well 😊
Hi Mark. Another great vid .. .. go and rattle 'Norms' cage once in a while will ya.. 'Guitar of the day ' really hit and you sure left Lemmo with a great Legacy. Just goes to show ya, hey. you may be president of Gibson in 10 years
4:40 : "I don't really feel like it's mine.I feel like I'm the caretaker. I'm the caretaker." Then he was bored at a rehearsal and carved his intitials in the guitar ! No, that's not Rock'n Roll, thats idiotic !!!
@markdoolan3424 what someone's said, and reality aren't always the same. Even at $350k, that's leaving a lot of money on the table. Guitars played by legends were getting multi-millions at auctions then.
Hey Carlos, some of my best memories are traveling from Phx. to L.A. on the weekends to see bands, and esp. you and Top Jimmy at The Cathay De Grande or I remember one particularly great night at the Whiskey with you guys opening for X, and Exene joined you guys for 'Roadhouse Blues', both bands were at the top of their game that night; it was a special time to be alive, as far as I'm concerned... here's to ya'!
I rather have Jared James Nichols or King Fish own the Peter Green guitar because he would use it correctly. KirK Hammett doesn't even know how to use the out of phase tones plus craved his initials KH into the back of the body of the guitar is 100% total unacceptable to be craving in his initials when he is a horrible guitarist in the last 25 years has done horrible guitar solos.
But it's his, which it's a legendary guitar but it's his now. He paid his own earned money to do whatever he feels. I pretty sure he just carved in it 2 make it his own & stamp it in his legacy which is his own right 2 do. It wasn't a family heirloom or stolen. So it's his right 2 do whatever he wants 2 it
@@antwanelynch87 He is NOT that great of a Rock guitarist or a blues Rock legend like SRV or Hendrix or Clapton or Jeff Beck that has created their own style and tone. He is just a guy that had a lot of money to purchase the guitar but that doesn't give him the right to vandalized it for others. He is just a Rich low end guitarist that has money to purchase a rare guitar and vandalize it is just unacceptable.
Kirk said he’s got more guitars to show so I wanna see part 2 of Kirk Hammett guitar collection
Take a spin through the ESP room for us too! lol

The long video is online since a few weeks - there he shows more than just Gibsons 😄 plus a long interview

Same here, for the most part - and he got me interested in Metallica
Now if only he ever practiced and improved. Lol
I’m really glad he got it. Love the fact he actually uses it.
It's a relief he paid less than $500,000 for it. Cause at the end of the day - it's only a guitar. It's only worth what people want to pay for it.
I'm glad Kirk got greeny. He loves her. SO COOL.
Yep it’s where it belongs. And he plays it almost every night in front of thousands of people. Instead of it being locked up in some sleazy rich lawyers guitar vault collecting dust
We need to get a Jimmy Page guitar collection video
There’s vids about his guitars that don’t need to be shown again, even amps and pedals
Well I guess Kirk answered my question. Greenie somehow makes it own fate and wants to be played ! It picks its owners ! Very cool
It’s like the One Ring!
For those who are wondering, he paid $ 420,000 for it. It was being sold for 450k but settled for 420k.
And you came up with that figure how?
@@bryantcochran5065took off his shoes after he ran out of fingers.

Please enlighten us where you got that figure from…

Agreed, just let him have it. I believe it’s in the right hands

He's rich probably has tons of free time
So why come back for more?
I’d like to see an interview with John Sykes and his collection

Does it really matter what he paid? He's never going to sell it and it now has KH carved into the back.
To be a fly on the wall hearing young Peter Greens wailing blues
You can really see and hear the passion he feels for it
Love his playing or not, you have to admit that he is the perfect guy to own this guitar. His passion for it is undeniable.
What a gem.
Very cool interview. Love his view about that special guitar!
Kirk plays the guitar, that was the point Green maded, Gary, play the guitar! Yes, this one!
So cool that he treats like a normal guitar and uses it all the time.
I think something about 350 k $
i got a set of strings from kirk off greeny

Are they sitting in Aleister Crowley’s living room?
We need a Noel Gallagher guitar collection video
I notice he didn't mention that he also dropped it and broke the head off.

Jimmie Hendrix Plaid Greeny ?

greeny in a gig bag
A real guitarist deserved that guitar. Imo.
Outside of Bonamassa most of the bursts are owned by people that barely play the guitar. Just a rich person's collectible toy
Kirk is a real guitarist and he actually plays Greeny. So yes, a real guitarist bought that guitar.
Somehow he's aged to look like Gene Simmons.
LFG!
he paid 2 mil. i bet ....

Kirk trying to outdo Rickie with this dark, satanic, wizard looking surroundings...???...
Yes isn't the skull head thing some sort of demonic symbol. I've seen a lot people with tattoos that look like that
Why is the skull animal head satanic I've seen it in tattoos
Greeny came after the black album. 😂 not interested
ugh... Kirk is cringe.
Jesus is he drunk or what?
He couldn't afford a proper case? 😂
He travels with it everywhere, makes sense it’s in a gig bag..
