  • President Joe Biden and First lady Jill Biden paid nearly 1/4 of their income in federal taxes last year, according to a joint tax return released on Monday.
The Biden's earned almost $620,000 in 2023, most of it from Biden's $400,000 presidential salary. The couple paid more than 146,000 in federal income taxes.
Biden has released his federal tax returns throughout his time in public office, while former President Donald Trump broke a bipartisan tradition of presidents disclosing tax documents. Trump is sticking to his own tradition of keeping his latest tax returns private.

$146k in taxes on $620k in income is roughly a 23.5% tax rate.

Yeah, they almost certainly would have owed more before the tax act that Trump signed into law.

@@modvavet The same tax act that is making the working class pay more in taxes this year (Democrats fought it for 6 years, but lost). It's an election year so I'm sure the incumbent will get the blame for it. But here is a universal reality, any tax cut Trump does, he does it exclusively for his rich friends.

Well, the best part is that you can go and actually look at the tax returns yourself.

Why? Is it so hard to believe that a public servant can be honest? Joe Biden is not Trump.

I appreciate the honesty and transparency. This shouldn't be custom, but mandatory. But either way, paying a quarter of yearly income in incomes only to get no universal healthcare or quality public transportation is such an insult to decency.

Or a smart person. Why wouldn't he use the loopholes that the crooked government intentionally left right there for their devil wall street friends? That'll only make him a dumb woke idiot, wouldn't it?
