Lovely to see the fishermen join in the clean up. Where I live we get a lot of fishing net and line wash up on our beaches together with other fishing related items.
@@Boyhowdy875not brainwashed at all, you must be new. There’s plenty of their clean up videos that show fishing equipment being collected in their clean ups.
@@anajferrer Not only that, but a close family member of mine worked as a government observer on fishing boats out of Alaska and Hawaii for years and the crews do through garbage and plenty of plastic debris off the boats. That is a fact.
Lovely to see people coming together and working for nature. Would love to see a similar system that exists in Sweden where we reuse most bottles. Even an empty bottle is worth money(you add that cost when it's purchased) and then there is a huge incentive to bring them back to the store. At the store there is a station that crunches the bottle and then it goes to recycling. It works great and there are hardly any bottles in nature.
All communes, regions, federal states and the overall gov body in Germany spent nearly 10 billion altogether for ecological affairs, mainly preservation, restauration, cleaning up and the like, not just in Germany alone. I think TOC is quite far away from that scale.
@CYCO1631 @colyniek You guys can't be serious about Elon Musk? You think billionaires are going to save us, no, they are the worst offenders. Musk is one of the worst, he bought Twitter to brainwash and help Trump and his fascist agenda. You think Trump cares about pollution? You are of your damn minds.
It's not really that hard. It's the scale that makes the difference. I'm an old lady and I've been on plastic cleanups in the St. Lawrence River in Canada. We had about 10 people (with boats) and we collected about 50 bags of plastic and other waste from one island, mostly by walking around the shoreline.
What a whorthy cause, will be donating my yearly 1% to your organization end of the year. Keep up the good work everyone. 💪💪 Great initiative to add a competitive element to the clean up, looks like a lot of fun!
Still amazing that it takes a foundation The Ocean Cleanup from a very small country (17 million inhabitants) if The Netherlands to get this done ….in stead of …. well you understand!
Watching the recent hurricane coverage, I was alarmed to see huge piles of damaged property outside people's homes, but they had to evacuate before it could be dealt with. The next hurricane spread it far and wide. I feel for those who lost everything, but it brought home the associated environmental challenge . Well done to you all.
Phenomenal Result!!!!🤩🙌💪 It is just to heart-warming to see people coming together to help, to be part of the solution🥰. Now it's the Government's turn to dig deep and put in the same effort that these good folks have to change the system - to turn things around to save our home planet.
This is BEYOND COOL! Love seeing it and in a year or more, those mangroves will be thriving and doing so much better than today! Congrats and thanks to all who participated!!
Absolutely astounding! As an American it's always so surreal to see so much plastic and trash that you can't see the ground... It must have been so satisfying to see the result of their labor!
To everyone, everywhere who either singly by yourself picks up trash or is part of a huge, organized effort to pick up trash everywhere and to clean up waterways....thank you. Thank you so much for caring and for being part of the solution. 🙏💙💚🙏
This work is brilliant, seeing people come together to do this great cleanup job was awesome. More teamwork like this is the only way for effective change
Unbelievable work and shows that there is no greater power than when we all work together as a team! The world is definitely a better place since The Ocean Cleanups' inception and although this a massive job right around the world ..., we are noticing a very formidable difference ..., and that's something we can all be very proud of. ☺
I remember a vacation to Tobago. The beaches on the leeward side of the island was wonderful. But the beaches and mangroves on the Atlantic windward side of the island was like a literal dump. Just hills and piles of plastic garbage that had floated ashore from the ocean.
I'm a middle school student in South Korea. Recently, I've been studying about environmental pollution in my school. So I want to see how terrible the plastic affects our environment. Thanks to this video, I completely understand. I think if this problem is ongoing, our peaceful life would be eliminated. Thank you for your efforts, and when I become an adult, I want to help the environment! I hope your efforts will be more popular. Regardless of nation, let's be interested in our faults and clean up!
This is very cool to see! Keep up the good work! We seriously need to move away from single use plastics though. Even just using multi use plastics would be better. We need legislation to change this, then that means less of these cleanup outings need to happen.
This is as beautiful an effort as it is heroic. Such an inspiring thing to behold. You all are doing an incredible job, and I, for one, am beyond grateful to see so many lending their time and energy to something so worthwhile and beneficial for the planet.
Great start to cleaning up the garbage choking the mangroves! Hope you do get more volunteers and do this frequently. Garbage collection and management is a challenge in many countries. Hope you report the results to the Ocean Conservancy organization, too.
Excellent and vital work to protect and enhance your environment and that of the sea.and repair the lack of human care Best endeavours for 2025 and the future for the next generation. Very reassuring to see your work and effort and be proud of it. Simon Artley Manchester UK.
With so much garbage, did you take pictures/ set the garbage up as a monument to how much waste was in these areas? Showing the scale of the problem to the local communities is fundamental to ending the problem at the source.
Wish you could come here to the Philippines, plastic pollution is the worst in the world. People just throw their trash outside their house, with no regard to the consequences. I think Education alongside the physical clean up would be invaluable. God bless you

I see that you are brainwashed and uninformed.
You see it and walk on. Like so many others. Including myself. I admit.
@@Boyhowdy875 how is she brainwashed?

We have the same thing in Finland, it's great! Hälsningar från Joensuu 😄
Thanks to all the people who make our planet cleaner❤🙏
"JAH-MAKIN - ME- HAPPY!!"... Wooooo hooooo, Jamaica 🇯🇲 Great job everyone. 🤜💥🤛 Much ❤️ from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
God bless!
This is amazing. Well done to everyone involved. The birds, bees and fish will thank you
Wowzah, kudos to all those hard workers who care about their local environment.
The Ocean Cleanup, always a good day to hear from them! Doing more for the planet than any government agency.
Yep not the Brits came to help their former colony ….but the Dutch with The Ocean Cleanup Foundation!
Maybe when Elon finds a few billion in Government waste, he could give it to these guys who are actually doing something to clean up this other waste!
All communes, regions, federal states and the overall gov body in Germany spent nearly 10 billion altogether for ecological affairs, mainly preservation, restauration, cleaning up and the like, not just in Germany alone. I think TOC is quite far away from that scale.
Yeh, but governments aren't visionary while people like Boyan Slat and Elon Musk are, which is why they accomplish their dreams

Need an interceptor system on the rivers
Why is that? Is there no trash collection infrastructure? No land fills? No recycling? Do people just not care?
Keep up the great clean up,more communities need to do this regularly.
Big up everybody yaso. Jamaica Jamaica it’s a good look 🇯🇲
Incredible work by Incredible people ❤
