Miranda is like the anti- Jane Austen, and this is in some ways the reverse of Emma. Austen's Emma went from selfishness to Christian virtue and the protagonist in this book does much of the opposite. Gone is virtue and true love and care for others. in its place is lust and selfishness. these are the myths and stories of our age, and we wonder why there is a problem. BTW as a Christian man I could never be so selfish and think mostly how the world should fit me. Instead, I am tied to my responsibilities which somewhat give me reason and purpose in life. There are some really good books on how the life glorified in this book and as the interview said, in her life, is a trap and becomes slavery and not true freedom. Oh and all the graphic sex stuff is just porn. That is all it is.
