It's very easy to compare ourselves to others no matter the stage we're currently in. If we're a student we compare to others students, if someone is a mom she compares herself to other moms etc. It's a normal thing to do and what can actually help with that is trying to only compare to the person you were yesterday, a year ago, 2 years ago. I think you're doing an amazing job Debs and you have definitely achieved so much ❤ also the little match girl is a story from my childhood too which makes me so sad to this very day 🥺
I graduated 6 months ago and I definitely felt the pressure of post-grad anxieties. But I decided to not worry about it too much - I took a break for 2 months of doing nothing productive and it helped me so much to reset after 4 years of college hustling and bustling and always having to do things. Eventially, I started looking for work. All my work experience was a college internship and a few small scale freelance projects. Job hunting was hard. I really hated job hunting lmao. I hate linkedin as well. But eventually I had a job offer and the work suits me very well. I think things will just fall into place in the right time.
omg you and your partner at the farmers market made me smile! reminded me of me and my partner. i know you have been very invested in keeping parts of your life private, which i love! having them in this vlog was very new and different, and i’m glad you felt you could do that without feeling obligated from your audience :))
i've also been realizing and learning to accept the seasonal depression i have during these dark and cold months. i'm trying to be gentler with myself and hearing you in the same boat was encouraging. thanks for sharing these pieces of your life with us

Deborah, from the perspective of a 28 year old that also struggled a LOT with comparing myself to others when I was younger: we're shaped by this culture of ambition and are told to always be working toward different goals, and I think we often lose our nature to reach for balance and calm. I watch your videos and am so impressed how you work hard while also maintaining a strong sense of self, strong relationships with your friends and hobbies, etc. That is hard to do! You may feel not as far along on your path as others in your network, but keep in mind your journey is decades long. There is so much more time than you think there is. Quality of life is not defined by career or a list of achievements. It truly is about connection to others and the love you surround yourself with and have for yourself. Hi Deborah;) just wanted to pop in to say that its normal to compare yourself with others and everyone does that from time to time. But its important to remind yourself that even though some other person may seem to have more accomplishments than you, we could never know what he/she went through to accomplish that. That’s why, just be proud of yourself and the rest will be OK☺️

omg i missed the longer vlogs soo much!! i wanted to tell you that, it’s ok to feel like you haven’t done as many achievements as others your age, think that everyone goes on their own pace, and maybe you have made many other accomplishments you haven’t noticed! and even if it was the case that you made less ones (which isn’t the case at all) it’s ok! it’s going like this for a reason, everything has a meaning, like my mom always told me “las casualidades no existen” which translates from the spanish, _coincidences don’t exist_ .. trust yourself while you grow :-)

After transferring to a school that uses the quarter system (my last school was semester), I have been struggling to keep up with school alongside with my extracurriculars and on campus job :"( I haven't really had time to do proper self care and I'm usually just too exhausted to do it by the end of the day. I’m a sophomore in online college working full time and never had that college experience everyone speaks of.
