It's not as uncommon as I thought. Google best rookie QB seasons since 2000 (there's 12 guys & 4 honorable mentions): Dak: 13-3, 23 TD to 4 INTs. Minshew 21 TD's to 6 INT's, 6-6 (they were 0-4 without him and 5-11 the season before). Baker broke the rookie TD passing record (later broken by Herbert (31), Cam had the overall TD record at 35, also broken by Herbert (36)) & led an 0-16 Browns team to 7-7 (Tyrod started one game & got the win, but he was 4 for 14 and they were trailing 14-0 until Baker brought them back). RG3 took a 5-11 team to 10-6 w/ 4000+ combined yards & 27 total TD's. Mac Jones took a 7-9 Patriots to the playoffs at 10-7 and had 22 TD's plus almost had 4000 yds w/ Kendrick Bourne as his #1 weapon. Russell Wilson 11-5, 30 (4 rush) to 10. Lamar Jackson 6-1, 11 (5 rush) to 3. Big Ben 13-0, 17 to 11. Luck took a 2-14 team to 11-5. Matty Ice 16 to 11 and took a 4-12 team to 11-5. Honorable mentions were Deshaun, Bridgewater, Burrow, and Flacco who took a 5-11 team to 11-5.
3 years with the most friendly QB system v. vanilla preseason defense. Everyone saw it, Trey Lance is done. No matter what his fans say, doesn’t override what everyone’s eyes saw.
@Davidhasselhoff1 I would give your argument some merit if he didn't spend the entire offseason showing off how he was going to be great. Practicing with mahomes taking videos with him. Everyone hyping him up through training camp. Then he face planted hard. Had he shut the heck up and just kept his head down and worked i would give him grace.

I blame the NFL itself and the many commentators working today. In their eyes, the 'mobile, athletic, QB' is the wave of the future. Somewhere along the line, throwing, accuracy, and anticipation have been forgotten skills for QBs.
Unfortunate for Trey since 9ers are a playoff team which means Lance is on a short leash. Need high level QB play at 1, 2, 3 (Cough Cough Josh Johnson) 9ers are in a win now mode.

They wanted to see what Lance had, and so far it has been lacking. Or would you rather watch Lance hand the ball off 15 times? It’s pre-season, they don’t need balance, they need to see whether or not Lance can make the right decisions and the right throws.

8 games played like Brock played is incredible. Who does that as a rookie. He deserves a lot of credit for how well he played.

This is the last stand for trey Stans. They are harping on Brocks picks so they want to tear him down. That’s not how it works
Why won't the 49ers Run a Jalen hurts style offense for Trey?
Because he’s trash. Stop projecting him alongside way better QB’s
I guarantee if Trey lance been drafted by John Harbour the Ravens would Run a Lamar type system
Just let Miami finish fleecing us and give them Trey and get a 3rd round pick back. They’d get 3 ones, and Trey the guy they were used on 😂.

Cud it work with Lamar or Jalen hurts type QB?
JT O’Sullivan really? That’s your source!? Listen to Kurt Warner a HOF qb on what he saw from Lance! Pfffttt
