As a woman with narrow ankles and well rounded calves I can definitely vouch for this. Tried some man boots couple of times, can't even close the upper part while still having mega heel lift (felt like I haven't even tightened them). I did have difficulty however finding stiff boots, since most woman's boots seem to be soft to medium max. Now happy with my vans aura, let's see how long they last.

Firstly, thanks so much for creating this video along with your other boot fitting videos. Super helpful as I’m trying to navigate buying a new boot.
Secondly, any man or woman that accuses you of mansplaining on your videos. Please, just stop. There’s already a dearth of women-specific content in the snowboarding community. Why are y’all trying to limit our access to info??? Stop it, ya kooks!

I have wide feet and was recommended to buy a men's boot, but I'm worried about the men's top being too high/tight for my calf. I've been using women's boots, but the only time my feet didn't hurt like crazy was when the boots started ripping lol. What do you think is more important? Width or that calf muscle?
(just for reference, I'm a D width, so that probably explains why I get gnarly foot pain in B width women's boots)

Here's the issue you're going to have to do some customization either way you go. Personally if you can find a women's boot that's wider start there, heat mold the liner, get an aftermarket footbed to cradle the foot, maybe slit the liner on the side to reduce the tightness. If you go guys boot I'd do something with a wider profile like a Salomon Wide or maybe a 32 then heel wedge under an aftermarket insole so it elevates the calf muscle as well. Or try to find a guys boot that has a lower cuff to it which Vans and 32 make.

Which snowboard would you recommend? The Rossignol 2018 Jibsaw or the 2018 Flow Merc?
