That was just not a good look in his part yet people bash on pedro because they deem he attacked an old man. Hello you stupid yankee fans zimmer went after pedro looking for a confrontation pedro has to defend himself and another thing when arod got plunked you saw tanyon sturtze from the yankees try to choke one of the redsox out from behind when a huge pile came on rhe field. I know a lot of people dont like big papi but he was right to fuck tanyon sturtze up. I'm not a fan of either team but I think it's ridiculous that they kept saying "oh this is awful, he's a 72 year old man". I'm sorry I don't care what age you are, if you charge at someone, which is what he did, he didn't just get in his face and yell, if you do that then don't get surprised if you end up on the ground. The way I saw it, he charged him and Martinez put him onto the ground and left it. Just because he's 72 doesn't mean he's an angel. I've seen worse behavior from older men then younger sometimes so age doesn't mean anything.

Zimmer attacked him first. He's an adult, and he should know better. Pedro has no responsibility to treat him any differently from any other adult male who attacks him. Zimmer probably thought he could attack Pedro with impunity because Pedro is "not allowed" to forcefully dispel his assault. Well, he was wrong, and rightly so. Yankee fans love to play the victim, when they are usually the aggressor. Remember when you guys spit on Cliff Lee's wife. The only team who doesn't even utilize their farm system properly because their wealth gives them a clear advantage over the bottom 2/3 of the MLB. Not even the classiness of Derek Jeter can mitigate the classlessness of yankee fans and their organization. Probably the most steroid-infused team of the late 90s, when they dominated. Thank God Pedro came along to give the Yankees a long-deserved "FUCK YOU".

To be fair, and I'm no fan of McCarver and Buck, but it's a bad optic to see an older man thrown to the ground by a younger man. In the moment, I could understand being disgusted by Pedro. But everyone in this chat has been able to watch this a bunch of times and digest it properly, so most would agree that Zimmer shouldn't have picked the fight. Regardless, classic baseball playoff moment.

    Lots of thoughts on this.
    1) always hated pedro, but that pitch to Garcia is the reason why he's the best pitcher I have ever seen. Most fearless guy I've ever seen on a mound.
    2) Pedro and the rest of the Sox looked very upset as soon as Zimmer hit the ground. Pedro regrets it today.
    3) what the fuck does Manny think he's doing? Sure, Clemens is no Mr. Nice Guy, but that wasn't even close.

    • @hnibosful

they hated each other and clemens was hated by all things Red Sox obviously. It just didn't take much to get upset. Another thing, Pedro try to apologize to Zim but Zim said don't its my fault.
