Really underrated detail about the Emporer’s fingernails being kept in a jar and getting sold as jewelry and alchemy ingredients.
Since the temple was a front for the Genestealer Cult, my interpretation was that the nail clippings were actually from the Patriarch. Similar to how their play had the Emperor transform into a Genestealer.

Brilliant story. Her hatred at what had been done to her powered her through and demonstrates why these assassins are such a beautiful tool to deliver the Emperor's vengeance and wrath.
Man..., Dude..! I really enjoy your efforts. These stories read by yourself have been such a boost, they’ve re-sparked a dormant interest in the “Dark future”. It is hard to come by here in the States, I’m just a humble “Yank” remembering Warhammer40k of my memory of its dawn (the 80s)....😳. The “net” is so cool...

I love the way the Genestealer Cult Limosine was referenced - it appeared in an old White Dwarf, if you look on Rouge Trader era reddit and the like or pinterest more so you'll see it - a Cult Army or THE first (Oldhammer) Cult Army, it was wicked man.. Chaos worshiping (?) Imperial Guard and Beastmen, Purestrains, a Magus, "Old Four Arms" himself and lots of different generations of hybrid then this huge hand made Limo. Lovely work.

Ok take the first entryway. Drive to the bottom untill u see my car. U can just pull up behind it in the road.
Seemed like writer was hung up on some um, internal/ personal fantasy bits in on this one. Yet still an interesting story and when voiced by you anything becomes interesting and intriguing. Can lead to interesting discussions and train of thoughts come what could be done by the assassins as slightly pointed out by the writer, yet interesting choice to go with the gene stealers first rather then say the tau who would be a bit easier imo for this kind of trial. Yet do see the kind of duality/ yet similar narrative he was attempting. The duality, the yes but no, the how 2 extremes could be similarly relatable yet so opposite( via her inner dialog and thoughts) come her form and reverse 'gene stealing' and become n a monster to infiltrate the monsters that try to infiltrate humanity. Can spark a rather interesting discussion imo, writers fantasies left a side.

I still don't know why they would throw away a perfect highly trained courtesan assassin instead of training one specifically for the role. It's like putting knife hands on a expert marksman. What did they even gain from the infiltration that a squad and angry SOB storming the church couldn't have done? I think at the end of the day you've just got to accept it's one of "those stories".

It could have made the story a bit more interesting if she actually had to figure something out. I enjoyed the descriptions of life inside the cult though. If they had more of that and less of the assassin being poetic about her waste it could have been a good story.

I just finished listening and I've got to say that people in this community are either really young or really prudish. Aside from some body horror that wasn't really messed up at all. Is it just because the protagonist is a woman?
I'll never understand people who freak out whenever anything involving a woman happens that's more real than cutsey anime magic girl shit. This is a fucked up universe and if this had been a man shapeshifting nobody would be batting an eye.

did on Ian Watson's book "Inquisitor Draco", which sounds like half 40k and half furry/?scaley? fiction and goes into unnecessary details concerning Malindis "supple" genestealer "bottom", which is by far the most tame example I could give. Written in a preposterous way that makes me imagine Ian having a neckbeard putting a lion to shame and only cutting bread with the finest japanese steel.

I agree that this story comparably tame, it's just that at least 1/3 of his 40k books is borderline smut and the community knows him as such. It basically became a meme. Watch for the words "kink shame back to x", "sewer goblin", "slaanesh fanfiction", "ATTENTION X: X", which are all basically quotes from Alfabusas video.
