    Olivier de Weck
Olivier de Weck holds professorships at MIT and EPFL and is a leader in Space Logistics. Together with his research groups, he is studying how to meet human needs in an increasingly complex and integrated world. In particular, he uses simulated environments to study how we could adapt from short-term space exploration campaigns to eventually colonizing other planets. His research has been funded by organizations such NASA, JPL and DARPA among others.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

To accelerate innovation reduce the monopoly given to intellectually property rights by 1/3 (15 years to 5 years). OR remove intellectual property right protection temporarily all together. to spur competition.

Only 4k views. We should seriously consider thinking the other way and making humans exist everywhere EXCEPT the rich and abundant Earth.

Maybe not! Many companies are now saying that within the next few decades we will have some humans living on mars.

If a japanese company would complete a space elevator in 2050 (as they promise) you will probably fly to at least the moon in your lifetime

Most likely we'll never live on Mars unless we absolutely have to. Remember, Mars wants to kill you.
