Just read the manual and wanted to specifically learn more about the sidechain functions. But it‘s so worse explained in the manual that I didn’t learn a lot.
So I googled and found your video. Nice explanation, now it is clear to me, thank you!
I really also don’t understand, why SSL does not promote this cool routing function. Now this channel strip can also be a very nice deesser and more, which is so nice.

yeah, I couldn't say. They're getting further and further away from matching the software to the hardware so... we'll see

Fantastic find! I was just showing a young mixer friend about sidechaining and I had never even considered doing it from within the SSL plugin/UC1. Thanks to you I just looked, and there it is right on the top of the plugin! (I'm in Logic Pro X). I'm no longer bussing to do this! Head exploded! BOOM! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
I've smashed all the smashers! From astonishingly windy, dark & kinda back to normal Ireland! ☘☮🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮☘

Great video, all other vids about the UC1 are unboxing and reviews and should I buy one. Good to see a “how to” video
    Good man 👍
Love to see more vids like this even on the basic stuff.

yeah it's pretty huge lol. The ability of real SSLs to pull this off so easily was always one of their biggest selling points

On topic, i was watching Bob Clearmountain talk about how he sets up his mixes on his physical SSL. He does something cool which is he dedicates a channel to creating a DS trigger (with EQ) that he then uses to "external" trigger the compressor on his lead vocal. the advantages are both that it frees up the actual EQ on the vocal channel and, that you can automate the fader on the trigger channel for heavier DSing say on the choruses or whatever. this method absolutely translates to the UC1 system. and while you could automate the controls on a dedicated DS plugin, The idea of having it on a fader is kind of nice. if you have a UF8 you can really enjoy it.

Thanks so much for the comprehensive video. I would like an opinion on the real compatibility with UAD Plugins. Some recommend SoftTube Console1 for Universal Audio ecosystem. I would like to hear your opinion. Thank you

      Well, i can't comment on console 1 b/c i don't have it.
The UC-1 is only compatible with SSL plugins.
