So relevant for NOW and in the past. You blokes are consumate musicians as we all know. I wish that you all were household names worldwide. Very moving song. I remember buying this as I did with all the albums. Elementary still gets played regularly 🔨🥁🦘🙏
this song should have done so much better in the charts...I remember buying the CD and playing on repeat for days... brilliant Phil. Should get the band back together for a reunion cd, rock it up a bit... I'd buy that ;)
Absolutely beautiful. These sentiments are so important and should be heard and digested and embraced by all of us who are the silent witnesses. Quite heartbreaking really.
One of my favourite Southern Son's songs.First met Jack ( Irwin )back when he was playing in a cover band in the Latrobe Valley thru my elder brother, Lee. Caught up with him when Southern Sons where touring with John Farhnam on the " Chain Reaction" tour when we did the Instore at Brashs Hay st mall in Perth 1990. Love your work on Chain Reaction album too Phil Buckle.
I've got all the albums and other songs released by Southern Son's and the album released by "The State" prior to Irwin Thomas joining the band as the lead singer and this is one of my favorites songs the band released.
@@philbuckle an absolute travesty. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song in honour of those innocent victims of this war. 2024: Correction as per below comment.
@@filterscapeMate, I think you have completely missed the point. He is not honouring silent witnesses, he is highlighting the tragedy of innocent victims and noting most of us send love and prayers and feel powerless to do anything more.

This is so apt right now for the precious children and their parents who are fleeing from Ukraine. Lyrics are so true....breaks ones heart to know that this kind of war can still be happening in our so called peaceful world.
Phil thank u for everything uve done for my life. To finally one day conquer evil once and forever in the name of love .
Such a powerful song. Thanks Phil. Still listening to it in 2023.

The band of my youth! I learnt so much from their albums and listened intently to all that they produced. Australia's own ToTo

One of the beautiful things from my past. Very powerful lyrics.
Great sons don’t date. This is a great song. Great writing and great delivery, powerful combination.
Wow - funny how songs from years past can become so relevant at current times -
We keep singing the songs of the past. They are obviously far more meaningful and substantial than the songs of today.

2024 and this song shouldn’t be relevant anymore..
An unfortunate timeless song by Phil Buckle. 🙏
Great song. Which war and refugee crisis was this referencing. There have been so many in recent history ?
Balkan War 1990.

When war mongers rages, this song always reminds me of suffering children and family.
Hello Mr Buckle...is there any chance we can have " Pretend "...? Greetings from Malaysia , Dec 2018....!
Hi Eden. Unfortunately no. That song was only released in the Asian market as a single I think. I don't actually have a copy of it myself!
