Thanks for your video about the removing the old brick window. Would you please tell me whether you have another video on how to install a new window following this removal? Thanks!

Mr. Clanton, my husband and I are buying a home with an old aluminum window smack dab in the middle of the wall separating the front "florida room" (old porch rehabbed into a portion of the house) and I have been scouring look for ways we can safely remove this useless window all day. I am so thankful for this tutorial you posted! We are excited to get it done and patch it up. Thank you so much.

I just had 10 of these replaced with vinyl double pane. It was brutal for the installers but came out awesome.

11:37 Once you get both sides hourglass shaped, put away the pry bar and grab a ratchet strap. Put it on the hourglass and crank crank crank until the whole window just collapses in. Greatly lessens your chance of damaging brick...

I learned a lot by watchin' this - thank you!
I can see it's gonna take some time to remove these type windows. Just curious - could I use a metabo to cut the frames after they're partially bent & pryed out???
Also - I'm very curious as to how these windows were installed? It would be great if the whole window frame & all could be taken out .... I'd like to use them to build a greenhouse rather than create scrap metal ....
The windows I'm dealing with look basically like storm windows - but were installed as the only windows (no wood around them)
Also, I'd like to see the video of the vinyl window install . . .

Use a saw to cut the aluminum and it will be much easier to remove. I would have cut it at the bottom as soon as you pried it up.

Plus I hang up a blanket to keep a lot of dirt out the only time I go in to the house is to clean and to cut the caulking off the windows. The way you bang the window seal that’s what keeps the customer mad when they see unnecessary scratches and hammer marks.

I feel like I'm going to go through the same thing. I plan on removing one of my 1950's window also. This will be my first time to ever do this. In my 60s And I'm going to give it a hell of a try. I've been watching alot of UTUBE Videos. My replacement window is just like your but it's a single hung 35 x 46or so white Aluminum, but not a storm window. Wish me luck. Lols.

I know every window is different. But the way you took that window out bug me. I’m 24 and I have been installing windows since I was 15 with my dad. I use a saw to cut the window slider out then I pry up the bottom cut it in half it’s way easier to work with.

What I do is unhook balance rods then beat the check rail down on one side and it will break away from the screws. Then pull sash up and push one corner of the sash down and it'll allow you to free one side and take it right out. Then I take a big flat head screw driver and hammer and bust the screws in the bottom joints of the seal and jam. Then you can easily take a prybar against the brick and pry the hams then the header usually will come with one of the jams if they don't have screws. Then just pry the seal up and clean up.

Hey dummy you can use a torch on the plastic glazing. And a pair of needle nose and pull em off in one piece. And use the torch out side and work the glass out in one piece
