For those who know the tracks you work on, it's always a delight to look for the subtle differences, discover the choices you've made to put this part here or there, or this instrument on its own in the mix. This song is no exception: a brilliant new version, a real success!
❤Such powerful and impressive music with lyrics. A real sea of feelings and thoughts, bubbling up moderately and clearly. All in all, a wonderful work. Thank you.❤
A beautiful song with a wonderfully arranged remix. Thank you for the time and effort you put into Kate's music, you are obviously a great fan of hers it shows in the care you take to not distort from the original works too much. By the way has anyone told you that you are getting really good at it?Please keep them coming.
Apart from the 'thin' sounding opening bars, this version is superb. It really opens up unlike the original. A trade we can experience in every version you create. Thank you so much for giving me another track to like. The original never did it for me to be honest. Unlike the Before The Dawn version that I love so much!
Thank you once again for your wonderful feedback! As for those thin sounding opening bars, I think I see what you mean. I wonder if the perceived quality depends on the sound system. They sound fine (to me) through the speakers and headphones when played on the equipment I always use to test these mixes, but not so good when I listen through headphones on my laptop. It's always hard to find the right balance.
I like the clarity and brightness of the vocals and the clearness. The vocals are brilliant and allow us to hear her voice and it changes scales and also the tendency she has to sound somewhat fragile, intentional I think, at certain notes and to express certain words she wants to stress. As always the fretless bass work is top notch. I shall run it through my 71 Sony solid state amp into the kef Chorale 25 w speakers which love voice especially. Excellent work as usual.
Those kef Chorale were very attuned to this as expected. Forty years old plus, through a Sony first solid state generation amp circa 1971. She does have a unique voice and her now deceased ex Del was a good bass player indeed rip. Although Nick Karn was the master of fretless I think. Excellent work as expected. As I said your work accentuates the best of the songs. It maybe that she laid down a lot of her work at a young age and possibly overlooked ways to highlight her best sounds. Also I think artists hear their music in a different way the listeners do. Especially a singer like KB who I think is constantly adjusting things and not always for the best . These are all very good so thanks.
@@jameslynch7826 Thanks for letting me know, James. I have a decent sound system myself, but not anywhere near as good as yours, I imagine. So it's very nice to get your feedback on the sound quality. I've often wondered myself about the way artists hear their music. And if they compare what they hear through the studio speakers with what (probably most) listeners will hear through their crappy earbuds connected to their phones. But that's a different topic. Anyway, thanks again!
Oh my God. So beautiful, how did you do this? This is what I want for more Kate songs as well as Tori Amos. I want to hear new versions of my favorite songs. But have no idea how you made this.
Ok so I don't know the original but I'm listening to this at some volume in my OKish amateur studio with hairs standing up on my arms. Incredible track, looking forward to hearing the original but I'm gonna play this back a few times more first! btw what do we think the piano is on this, an M1 maybe?

Beautiful Úilleann Pipes and Whistle in the mix originally played by Liam Ó Flynn of irish supergroup Planxty.

Beautiful. I have no idea why you don't have more subs with the quality of the extended cuts you make.
Thank you very much! Kind of you to say so.

Ah, you're really going to put it to the test then! Fingers crossed that the mix holds up. Thanks once more, James, for your kind comments.

Not Mrs Bartolozzi but it'll do for now....❤❤❤😂😂
Ha ha! These excruciating waits, eh? Like watching the wash go round and round... Glad this mix does tide you over.
@seventyfive4169 I see what you did there
Has anyone with a Sansui AU series amp listened to this?
I am thinking of buying one and they would suit her voice etc.
