How to survey in GCPs and achieve a fix RTK solution to execute a planned drone flight mission | EMLID Reach RS2 GPS Training.
In this video we show you how to:
Configure RS2 unit to receive corrections from your closest NTRIP station
Perform a Site-calibration or a Base Shift, if necessary, after a FIX RTK solution is achieved
Survey in Ground Control Points (GCPs)
Setup your RS2 unit over a known point using a tripod, tribrach and extension pole; or a GPS pole supported by a Bipod. Ensure that the RS2 unit is centred over the known point.
Set the base position to the coordinates of the known point and enter the antenna height from the top of the known point marker to the bottom of the RS2 unit.
Set the Base out to Ntrip using Emlid caster Mount Point profile details
Configure custom network rtk settings on the RTK drone using Rover emlid caster profile details.
After a Fix RTK solution is achieved on the drone; execute the planned drone flight mission.
All the above made possible with the Emlid Reach RS2, Phantom 4 RTK and RTK kit.

Is a sim card in the rs2 required? OR Can i use my cellphone hotspot as the internet connection for the reach rs2?

Can I establish GCPs with Total Station?

Yes you definitely can but the process would take longer on a large/big site. This would require a lot more total station setups to establish GCPs.
