      @i_am_joshK 15 дней назад

      I wouldn't say XG is pointless😂, its an indication that you are creating, taking those chances is a different story😂, but if you are creating chances,get the right players and it might just work... imagine seeing your XG after every match day as a Toffees fan!😩😭😂🤦🏽

    • @AllanM2e0
      @AllanM2e0 15 дней назад +5

      @ I can see that my team are creating by simply watching the game and understanding what is a decent chance from a 30yd blast way over the bar without the extra bouncy ball.
      XG is a metric for saying “we could have scored 3 if we took those decent chances ” in a bar with your mates after the game.
      What use is it saying “oh we out XG’d them” if you get beat 2-0 ??. It won’t get you extra points, it won’t get you further up a league and it certainly won’t help you progress in a cup competition.
      Possession stats are again meaningless if you are just playing a ball Across the defence because the opposition let you do it. 1000 passes are all lovely but if it’s in your own half not going anywhere it’s pretty much useless.
      Ultimately there’s only one statistic that matters in football and that’s the full Time score

    What does it take to cross over the line? Because Arteta has had a high win percentage, very good defensive stats, an exceptional amount of goals scored and yet in the last 2 years hasn't won anything. This is one of the reasons why I'm not Arteta in or out, it's very hard to figure exactly why the team never made it far in cup competitions and has failed to win anything major

The 2nd leg of the cup isn't until February so we need to keep our squad fit and if we keep everyone fit we'll achieve great things this season. I'd like us to sign a striker as cover for Isak incase he gets injured.

When we decided to change it on 60 min, after scoring 2 and having just as many shots on goal as Arsenal, we gave you the ball and shut up shop, in the full 2nd half, Dubravka didn't have to make 1 save, 9 shots high and wide. Nufc had 2 shots in the 2nd half both making your keeper work.

    Did Goldstein just try to argue the fact that Pep inherited the best team on the planet for his first managerial job. This is very disappointing for someone who presents a football show. Pep inherited Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, David Villa, Puyol and many more while Arteta inherited Mustaphi holding socrates and sub par players. Surely does Goldstein really think you can compare the two?

    Arsenal haven’t been near the top for a very long time, my entire life really as I’m 25. I think if people put aside their hatred of Arsenal there would be so much more respect for what Arteta has done. Look at Villa for example what have they achieved? Yet Emery is constantly lauded as doing an amazing job. In our first break out season we just missed out on the title - we basically only got bantered for it haha. Going from 5th to 2nd with one of the youngest teams (I think actually the youngest team in the league at the time) and genuinely playing very dominant football. Poch at Spurs is an example, after his close calls with Spurs winning things people really gave him a lot of respect. No matter who you support I do actually think it’s pretty shameful that Arsenal have basically just been blasted the media and rival fans so constantly for achieving more than 90% of the league.

    Look at the squad Arteta inherited and look at it now, he’s done well and made Arsenal challengers again. Conte at spurs couldn’t do it even though spurs arguably had a better squad at the time. Yes this season we haven’t been as good and his signings have been poor but people are quick to forget how good Arsenal were the past two seasons. City won a treble and went on a 15 game win streak to win the league last year.

    If Amorim wins the FA Cup this season, gets Man Utd back into the Champions League, and makes them title contenders posting 80+ points two seasons running narrowly missing out to Pep and 130 charges FC, Goldstein and that throwback barnet of his would be creaming. I did not want Arteta. I was pissed off that the players disrespected Emery and to me Arteta was a cost saving exercise and a step backwards. I was wrong. He’s done nothing but good for Arsenal. 2:40 Bent "Artetas' got to a level where most manager's won't get throughout their career.." where has he got ? what level ? What did he win ? and if someone asks him, he counts those 2 Dinner Plates as trophies.
    Bent here seems as delusional as Arteta homself & most Arsenal fans.

    Funny how “peps graced with messi” but Fergie is celebrated for the class of 92! How much money did they save having them all come through at same time? Who would they have bought if they wasn’t there? Media in this country are so biased and hate on anything that’s not British

    Arteta did a job, he lifted us out of that slump we were in. But does he have what it takes to win real titles? Don't think so. Transfer policy has been dubious. Spending 100M on a midfielder that doesn't score and doesn't create chances is ridiculous. Spending 65M on a player who's not a midfielder, not a striker, and systematically misses sitters is even worse. Those 165M could've been spent on a real striker and a winger. I just don't get out signing policy. Other teams are able to sign Isaak, Guimarães, Paquetá, Kudos and so on, so why can't we?

    If Arteta was Barça manager in 2009 then Messi would've had a career like Riquelme, Tevez or Saviola. Pep put Messi in a role to score goals and be productive, at a time when no one could see the logic in it. Everyone said Ibra should have been the focal point.. ot was Peps idea to build the team around Messi.
    Even Argentina at the time wasnt built around Messi

      Fast forward to Newcastle game, because they missed numerous chances and the other team scored two and missed some chances...in this case, goals matter
