    I love this sort of content for AS. I think, though, at the level of abstraction and scale of AS, individual units matter less (because of said abstraction) while the choice and composition of your formations is a big part of where the strategy/list building lies. For example, this particular variant works great for one of the fire lances or a battle lance, but if you've put this one in a striker or cavalry formation, it probably isn't a great fit (I mean, Clans being just generally good aside). I tend to think about AS more like BattleForce from whence it came. My units are the lances/stars/Level II's and the individual elements are the different weapons of that unit.
    [Edit] Thanks for shouting out other BT creators. BT content is still niche even with this current renaissance, and pulling others up with you is a real Good Guy thing to do.

      I’ve not done any of the special Lance builds yet but it’s on my list of things to learn :) I agree with you 100% though, perhaps in future videos I’ll talk about compositions for lances and stars I like.

    You should do some battletech mini painting tutorials. Really like your style and curious what your process is like

    Clan Wolf ftw! I haven't done any Alpha Strike, but a good bit of Classic BT and my Timber Wolf has never failed me. It's my favorite mech and always my first choice.

    I love the look of the bright Timberwolfy. The look like bone... Never seen a mech like that before. You should keep it in that way 😃

    by the time youre allowed the madcat H 3059 the dragoons have elementals they had them in their civil war in I think 3053. They werent mentioned in the battle of Luthien 3052 but they might have had them there.

      I’m not as familiar with all of the fluff, I usually click era then faction in MUL and pick my units from there.

      No idea how many Elementals the Dragoons had at Luthien if any, but I do know they picked up a few there.

    I can't remember the variant but I like the Timby that's 51 Points TMM 2 and 10" MV with a 5/5/3 with OVH 1

    Recreate the Mechcommander 1 intro with a Raven, Cent, Hunchie and Commando vs the Mad Cat. Could AS let the battle go the way it did in that cutscene?

    • @Thearmedpainter
      @Thearmedpainter  Год назад

      Mmmm maybe, though I think it would require a critical hit. Rear shot on the Timby in AS would only grant a pt of extra damage rather than in classic where the rear is made of paper (sorta of lol!). Could try to recreate it to see how it would play out at the very least! :)

    Love teh paint jobs. Look great. Shame the Wolf's Dragoons had the legs glued on the hips backwards.

      This Timber Wolf may be a Dragoons paint job but this sculpt predates the box they released. If the box had issues with sculpts I didn’t even notice lol

      @Thearmedpainter It is fine, just a little more shy than other timberwolves. Or avoiding a landmine on mag scan

    Hello, love the videos very helpful for us new guys. Does the IF3 is that a +modifier to hit or a -? Or is it a plus for damage?

    • @Thearmedpainter
      @Thearmedpainter  5 месяцев назад

      For IF you take a +1 penalty for indirect and a further +1 if your spotter also shoots.

      @@Thearmedpainter Wow thank you for the quick response! I noticed that some mechs have an IF2 is that for damage or a -2 modifier? I apologize thats my last question

    Where is the beta wolf mini from? I am hoping to avoid tinkering on the one from Clan Invasion without a good alternate in case I mess it up.

      One of these is the Legendary Aidan Pryde Timber Wolf and the other is from the Clan Invasion box.
