Such a great tune. Kind of reminds me of "Young Love" (Sonny James) and "A White Sport Coat And A Pink Carnation" )Marty Robbins). Gosh--- wouldn't it be nice to have music like this become popular among the youngsters again? Or am I just a relic of the past?

Grew up listening the this song when it first came out. I used to do a lot of diving off there in the 70's and 80's. Beautiful kelp beds and plenty of fun. Great memories of that place. Listening to this song, brings back many of those memories....

My mother would tell me as I got older that this was my favorite song when I was very young. Seems so since it feels very familiar. 1958, I'm having no trouble imagining my pudgy two-year old self getting into this. "40 kilometers in a leaky old boat"; yeah, that phrase is locked away in memory.
