Aidan Turner as Poldark is terrific and has cancelled out D"Arcy as the most handsome,sexy, talented and exciting leading male character in English literature.I really hope he is the next 007!
I can't imagine anyone else in those two roles, they are perfect! The wild cliff scenes near Nampara are gorgeous, makes me want to saddle up and ride those landscapes!
Emma Kennedy was great as the chairperson asking questions. You could tell she had watched or had seen a lot of it and she was very engaging and comical. This was a really good set of interviews and I absolutely am in love with this series. But as long as I have to wait for season two I think I deserve something in return...perhaps a hug from Aidan? Yes that will surely suffice thank you!
The new Poldark is Amazing !!!!. I loved every minute.It took me a while to get hooked on the original TV series back in the 70s ,but this last Sunday I was hooked from the beginning. The Script Writer ,and Actors are doing a wonderful job.Please keep it going for as long as possible.As the interviewer said Aiden is a little bit Heathcliffe , and a little bit Mr Darcy ,and I say Thank goodness .He`s gorgeous .
I think Aidan and Eleanor are both beautiful and talented actors and hope they will build on their performances in this wonderful series to go on to even bigger projects. On a personal note I just hope Aidan will keep his shirt off in future interviews ;)

Yes I imagine they will when it's the series is over in 4 weeks, it would be nice to own. Nowhere like it for "salt of the earth" experiences, stay away from Dublin, focus on Counties Clare, Kerry, West Cork, good people in those parts, don't wait too long, the Country is changing rapidly, we were sold out to the bankers, very sad really.
I loved the series in the 70's and I read the books. Today, I will read the books again and will watch every episode in today's version. It's such a great story and the production is so well done.

Debbie Hosfield did a wonderful job adapting the first two books. I'm looking forward to the rest of her adaptations. I watched a little of the 1970s version and it didn't come even close. She follows the books so much closer and the books are fantastic. I hope she does all twelve books. It will be difficult.

Eleanor is so quiet - Demelza would have been more present in the conversation. I love me some Aiden, and love that he is a talker - prefer interviews where actors speak up instead of barely sharing anything, however both Aiden and the host should make way for her.
I think Eleanor is a naturally reserved person, but gives very smart answers when given the chance to talk. I have seen one-to-one interviews with her and she was very articulate. Aidan can be somewhat a hog-not good for panel interviews. Imho.
Coming back years later, I remember I didn't like what Eleanor said to Aidan at 17:55 and I still don't like it. He simply says he doesn't remember that she was wearing her brother's clothes and she attacks him saying she didn't know who he was in a quite mean tone.
I am a latecomer to this - just finished the series and books. I find Aidan Turner talks too much in panel interviews. He needs to consider the time constraint of these types of interviews so that other members of the panel get a chance to talk. Sure, talk away in one-to-one interviews.
Looks like Aidan fell asleep @ about 21:42. He and Eleanor have great chemistry on screen, not so much during interview. Wondering if they actually hit it off when not filming.

Walk In The Light the characters in Poldark? ...Short version is Ross Poldark is a man coming back to his native home of Cornwall after fighting in the Revolutionary War and he comes home to everything being completely different from when he left (his home is pretty much in ruins) but he is very driven and therefore determined to get his farm and the family mine back up and running so the story starts off like that and shows us what is happening with him and his family and what life was like back then and so much more. Eleanor's character is called Demelza and she comes to work for Ross. That is a terrible synopsis but the show is based on a 12 book series by Winston Graham that went from 1945-early 2000s and both the show and the books are amazing! And the show does air in the States as well on PBS (I am also American so that is how I watch). Hope this helped 😃

Eleanor's transformation from urchin to lady of Nampara is incredible. I don't think she is recognized for her phenomenal acting. It should be given the attention it deserves instead of talking about Aidan's bare chest.
God the interviewer is awful. Annoying voice, talks too much, poorly chosen questions and barely bothers to spread the questions around to all participants...

They should have fired this unprofessional mediocre screenwriter after the first season. Unfinished lines, gaps, unnatural dialogues, historical mistakes... Only brilliant actors playing and stunning landscapes save these series.
I agree. I couldn't take my eyes off Eleanor as Demelza. You can tell she takes her role seriously and I think she and Aidan bring out the very best in each other. Phenomenal cast. The adaptation frustrated me. I've read the books and so much of the thoughts and conversations between Ross and Demelza are omitted and would add so much to understanding that relationship. Debbie's first historical drama to adapt to screen. Poldark was a bit big I think for her to take on.
These actors really need to research their characters because Listening to them, they sound brain dead, I am wondering if they've been drinking or blunting or some other drug, or just plain thick.
I've read the books. To adapt Winston's story is a monumental task and I think it difficult to do it justice. There is not a weak link in the entire cast of actors in this adaptation but there are passages and conversations in the books that have been omitted in the adaptation that would really give the viewer better insight into the characters, especially the main characters. For me, sometimes frustrating to watch because you are left to interpret looks and eye rolls instead of a meaningful dialog. I was drawn to watching Eleanor as Demelza. She has studied the character and has read the books. It does make a difference in how the character is portrayed. Love her.

Emma Kennedy was great as the chairperson asking questions. You could tell she had watched or had seen a lot of it and she was very engaging and comical. This was a really good set of interviews and I absolutely am in love with this series. But as long as I have to wait for season two I think I deserve something in return...perhaps a hug from Aidan? Yes that will surely suffice thank you!
It really is a brilliant show, I was in Cornwall last week and seen a couple of film shoots. Can't wait for season 2.

The new Poldark is Amazing !!!!. I loved every minute.It took me a while to get hooked on the original TV series back in the 70s ,but this last Sunday I was hooked from the beginning. The Script Writer ,and Actors are doing a wonderful job.Please keep it going for as long as possible.As the interviewer said Aiden is a little bit Heathcliffe , and a little bit Mr Darcy ,and I say Thank goodness .He`s gorgeous .

Nowhere like it for "salt of the earth" experiences, stay away from Dublin, focus on Counties Clare, Kerry, West Cork, good people in those parts, don't wait too long, the Country is changing rapidly, we were sold out to the bankers, very sad really.
I loved the series in the 70's and I read the books. Today, I will read the books again and will watch every episode in today's version. It's such a great story and the production is so well done.

Debbie Hosfield did a wonderful job adapting the first two books. I'm looking forward to the rest of her adaptations. I watched a little of the 1970s version and it didn't come even close. Eleanor is so quiet - Demelza would have been more present in the conversation. I love me some Aiden, and love that he is a talker - prefer interviews where actors speak up instead of barely sharing anything, however both Aiden and the host should make way for her.
I think Eleanor is a naturally reserved person, but gives very smart answers when given the chance to talk. I have seen one-to-one interviews with her and she was very articulate. Aidan can be somewhat a hog-not good for panel interviews. Imho.

Coming back years later, I remember I didn't like what Eleanor said to Aidan at 17:55 and I still don't like it. He simply says he doesn't remember that she was wearing her brother's clothes and she attacks him saying she didn't know who he was in a quite mean tone.

I am a latecomer to this - just finished the series and books. I find Aidan Turner talks too much in panel interviews. He needs to consider the time constraint of these types of interviews so that other members of the panel get a chance to talk. Sure, talk away in one-to-one interviews.

I have just finished watching the box set , love it. It is weird hearing Aidan with an Irish accent. Same with David Tennant when he speaks with his scottish accent.... Weird

Walk In The Light the characters in Poldark? ...Short version is Ross Poldark is a man coming back to his native home of Cornwall after fighting in the Revolutionary War and he comes home to everything being completely different from when he left (his home is pretty much in ruins) but he is very driven and therefore determined to get his farm and the family mine back up and running so the story starts off like that and shows us what is happening with him and his family and what life was like back then and so much more. Eleanor's character is called Demelza and she comes to work for Ross. That is a terrible synopsis but the show is based on a 12 book series by Winston Graham that went from 1945-early 2000s and both the show and the books are amazing! And the show does air in the States as well on PBS (I am also American so that is how I watch). Hope this helped 😃

As I commented above, too bad that Aidan is such a hog when it comes to panel interviews. Poor Eleanor - bad enough that they tend to get asked the same questions over and over again. Can’t blame her if she seemed a bit disinterested by the time they got to her.

Eleanor's transformation from urchin to lady of Nampara is incredible. I don't think she is recognized for her phenomenal acting. It should be given the attention it deserves instead of talking about Aidan's bare chest.

I agree. I couldn't take my eyes off Eleanor as Demelza. You can tell she takes her role seriously and I think she and Aidan bring out the very best in each other. Phenomenal cast. The adaptation frustrated me. I've read the books and so much of the thoughts and conversations between Ross and Demelza are omitted and would add so much to understanding that relationship. Debbie's first historical drama to adapt to screen. Poldark was a bit big I think for her to take on.
I hate it when they change the books. Don't call it Poldark, if you're going to change the story. Shan't watch any more.

These actors really need to research their characters because Listening to them, they sound brain dead, I am wondering if they've been drinking or blunting or some other drug, or just plain thick.

I've read the books. To adapt Winston's story is a monumental task and I think it difficult to do it justice.
There is not a weak link in the entire cast of actors in this adaptation but there are passages and conversations in the books that have been omitted in the adaptation that would really give the viewer better insight into the characters, especially the main characters. For me, sometimes frustrating to watch because you are left to interpret looks and eye rolls instead of a meaningful dialog.
I was drawn to watching Eleanor as Demelza. She has studied the character and has read the books. It does make a difference in how the character is portrayed. Love her.
