Watch live as the SpaceX Polaris Dawn crew returns to Earth after tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman performed the first private spacewalk on Thursday. Isaacman teamed up with SpaceX to test the Elon Musk company’s new spacesuits on his chartered flight.
The daring feat also saw SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis going out as the capsule orbited hundreds of miles above Earth once Isaacman was safely back inside. In my opinion, this wasn't a space "walk" but a space "peek".
It is really funny if you think about ? We are still using the term splash down from a capsule even today, the same term we used over 55 yrs ago its like technology went crazy over these yrs but space travel really did not go any where. Very sad !!!!
What are you talking about? Spacex x practically has starship that can fly and land perfectly, did not see that? Unfortunately FAA and NASA won't allow to use it for sending crew and repeatedly delay their flights and make problems for spacex but spacex introduced starship and booster heavy that sent starship into orbit and returned and landed on the station perfectly. But if FAA and NASA allows spacex to use starship for crew then this cause other companies such as Boeing, blue origin, NASA and others literally broken because they can't catch up with spacex so FAA and NASA and government try to slow down spacex development speed. Many companies try to destroy spacex and spend money to help government to prevent from spacex development. So before say something learn something. Spacex is using fully reusable rockets, boosters, starship,..... And because Nada ordered them to for crew they have to use capsule they don't allow to use starship. However still elon use reusable boosters even for this missions so practically spacex build a rocket once and use it at least 30 times, unlike other companies like boeing that spend taxpayers money to build a rocket then destroy it in return in atmosphere🤣🤣🤣 for next mission again build another one. Did you understand what it means??

1:03:54 If the plasma around Crew Dragon prevented radio signals how come we could get Starlink video while Starship IFT 4 was going through the atmosphere coming down?
Starship is a large vehicle and they were able to put Starlink antennas on the leeward (cold) side to talk to Starlink satellites, which in turn related that video to Earth. That would be a lot harder to do with a small capsule that will be more or less fully enveloped in RF blocking plasma during reentry.

Nice to see SpaceX having success. But I'm astonished at all the hoopla and back slapping over something that was first accomplished more than half a century ago. And done with computers that have literally thousands of times the processing Power of those in the late 60s and early 70s.
I'll be impressed when SpaceX, NASA, or Boeing accomplish something NEW.
