In most two wheeler accident cases, the pillion rider gets thrown away from the vehicles, as they have no grip over the vehicle and the death rate is very high, as such the new law although has come late ,but it is highly necessary as it will save many lives in future. Better late than never.
I'm from banglore and been staying in mumbai since a year now and believe me Mumbai Traffic police very loose. They don't give a Damn. Forget about, License, Helmet, Insurance, Banglore Police ask Pollution paper too

I agree with that uncle it should be compulsory for highways only not in cities. Because it is just to collect fines and trouble peoples and government also knows that in india middle class people is only people who use 2 wheeler vehicles. Rich people have their cars to travel so they are not going to face such problems. And if government seriously think about safety of the citizens they should provide helmets to the person who pays fine. I know helmet is much expensive then the 500rs fine but they should increase the fine and provide helmets to them who pays fine. It is just to collect fines and increase government funds nothing else. As they have lost the source of income on mask fines so they have started a new strategy to collect. As in mumbai BMC use to collect fines of rs.200 on compulsory mask due to covid, if they can collect fine of 200rs they can also give a mask of 50rs to them that they can use for the next time. Main roz office uber moto me hi jati hu toh roz helmet pehenna hota hi hai mera aur waise toh ghumne jane apne car se jati hu toh helmet kharidne ki zarurat nahi pari thi, lekin ab maine bhi ek le liya kyuki mere boyfriend ke paas scooter hai toh usme bhi jana hota hai toh kharid na hi pada mujhe.

Wearing a helmet should not be a rule but a common sense while riding two wheeler or playing any sports which require head protection , i once got hit on head with a leather ball while playing cricket and the pain lasted for more than a month, till this date I regret of not wearing the helmet that day.
My Pelion riders life same important for me as mine, from last 4year i am using AXOR apex helmet(cost 5k) and my wife have same helmet.. I never allow her on bike without helmet.. I don't even ride 1km without helmet..
There is no fine in bandra east, Jogeshwari sv road, Mohammad ali road, malvani, etc etc waha sab allowed hai wrong side, triple seat, no helmet, overspeeding..

According to the Libertarian philosophy, the government does not have a right to force people to do something for my their own safety. If someone is doing something which doesn't affect someone else directly, then the government cannot force that person to do something. If someone wants to ride without helmet and risk their life, then it's their right to do so and their problem too. They cannot blame the government for dying in a crash.
If cops stop bike for helmet of pillion. and if they charge. If the charge is 500 make it 700 but they should provide helmet 🪖 for pillion on the same time. In the End it's just for sefty. Correct. It's just my opinion don't cot me on this 🙏
