I used to own the Quartermaster bike and raced it in the early 1980s. It was built by Norman Ashwood from Kidderminster. I emailed Henry Cole, when I saw the bike on TV, with a lot of information and some pictures of the bike, back in the day. He never replied.
Hi Jack. Sorry if you felt ignored. The production team at Henry Cole TV receive so many emails every day that it simply isn't possible to reply to all of them (otherwise there wouldn't be time to film any programmes) and occassionaly important ones, like yours, get overlooked. Thanks for getting in touch. Kind regards from the team
@@nippynormans2267 It would be a shame if he didn't look at it. The original email has been deleted from my outbox and I'm seriously doubting that I can remember exactly what information I passed on to Henry. The builder of the bike has probably died by now - Norman was in his 60s back in 1980 - and I'm not getting any younger. The chap I sold the bike to - Richard Evans - is still around though. There's some video of Richard on the bike here : ruclips.net/video/VXCt36iSRFQ/видео.html @ about 3 minutes in.
Her Maj is more likely to take notice than a certain Henry Cole to being alerted most of his tv production is being ripped off and posted on youtube by a certain channel.
Hi Glen - we fight a seemingly endless battle against our work being ripped off. If you're aware of any offending channels, please let us know by replying to this message and we'll chase them up. We need all the help we can get.
Remember seeing Alf at Lydden
. grass track back in the 1960s.. absolute legend.
The man is a legend, the Hagon name will live in motorcycle history for the next 3million years, thanks to Alf.
What a modest chap this real legend is.
A LEGEND ! Saw him a few times at Brighton Speed Trials
Cool seeing Alf again, we brought many shocks from him for our grass track and road racers back in the 70’s and 80’s.
Alf Hagon, boyhood hero from the 60's.
Absolutely give Alf a K. I cannot think of a more deserving gentleman.
Wow, why can’t these guys live forever????
Thanks again for the update 👍, from Portugal 👌👌
Stuck a pair of Hagons on my 72' CB 450, improved the handling no end.
I remember reading a racers biography and the saying that helped me with my CBT was, "GAS IT W*NKER!"
Great man!!!
Hagon's used to do the regular rebores on my Triumphs. Fond memories.

Noise is right. Four stroke singles sound terrible. I would rather listen to yoko ono sing than listen to a thumper. Give me a twin any time.
