You know what's really sad? Is that you can't just say to a neighbor that they are bothering you because they don't care. You could be very forgiving and reasonable and certain people will take advantage of your kindness. When you live in a high-rise, it's expected that you will be considerate of your neighbors, but some people will not reciprocate, they will not play by the rules. You are absolutely right to record this. 👍

My mother is dealing with a neighbor harassing her. They have spit, tossed cigs, poured beer, etc over the balcony. She jumps on exercise equipment hitting the floor hard, and her kids run, jump, and stump hard. They follow her around the apartment making noise, banging on the floor, or dropping things hard.
I believe you, same happened to me!

Family lived in a child free complex (it catered to seniors) yet someone brought kids anyway. Lived in a pet free complex, people snuck in pets anyway. In short people only give a damn if THEY are inconvenienced, not anyone else.

Found myself nodding in agreement with everything you’ve said, been there, done that, kids jumping off bunk beds = unpredictable loud bangs complete with vibrations, hours of ear splitting music with mega base especially when most people are supposed to be sleeping, tapping pipes with objects just to annoy and not being believed when you complain to property managers…
Seems she is doing it purposely because she is aware of everything already lol

Living underneath her was a nightmare, my dude. She's like a lot of dog owners out here in LA. Very selfish and entitled, and doesn't care how their actions affects other people. I'm glad she finally bounced.
That sounds like my apartment every damn day. My neighbor chases her dog around the apartment and slams the door every single time she goes in or out. Apartment living is for savages.

I'm going through this with my neighbors,the noise is terrible and she using her son as a pawn, there's at least 12 people in a 3 bed room apartment,the jumping, banging, running, stumping is off the chains.only peace I get is when police are called.been to court 3 times and going back in July.hopefully this is the end. I called the police at 9 am because noise,and seen her the next day and she told me that she getting a transfer which shes upset about because now she has to travel far to get to work and get her son to school ok that's not my problem.

It is always the upstairs neighbours who are problematic... my love and I are currently at our breaking point... our upstairs neighbours have been renovating their (around) 45 square meter apartment since february 2023, almost everyday from 8am to almost always 10pm (they stop at 7pm sometimes and there are a few days when they don't do anything at all, but that is like 2-3 days in a row) and I work from home most of the time and of course they leave no notes on the bulletin board of the building, so we can't know which days they are going to work or not so i can't decide which day work from the office or not... not to mention they already caused damage to our apartment which we are still waiting them for to pay (very visible cracks on the ceilings, and a professional confirmed their renovation is the cause)... I have had enough, my love has had enough, all of the other people in this apartment building have had enough and they still plan to keep this "renovation" on for at least 2 years. Like seriously, in this amount of time I could build an entire family house! So yeah, enough is enough and we are going to fill a "property protection procedure" and charge them. Time to put an end to this nonsense and if they don't cooperate we are going to get them thrown out from this building.

Bruh, its the same in my area to with these over priced apts and the floors and walls are soo thin, we can't help but hear our neighbours. But there are some pple that are soo rude and disrespectful that even being courteous, they dnt care about anyone but themselves. My building has a high turnover rate bcus pple can't live with the disrespect that comes with living in almost any apt new or old in these over crowded cities. Im in S.FL and the attitudes of pple alone don't help trying to live peacefully in a nice quiet apt.
I moved into a one bed room single home and im loving it my mental went through the roof in apartments i couldn't sleep or eat shower in peace omg 😢

You handled it with class which is more than I would’ve been able to do. Had to take a blood pressure pill just watching that. Glad she’s leaving. People like that will eventually do themselves in. LMAO the funny thing is, my doctor had recommended a sleep study long before I moved into this place.

Im.havi gg similar issues with two new upstairs people who are young bros and are dimwitted and oblivious to societal norms of general quiet hours. They stomp around past 10PM and begin drilling and constructing furniture around 9:30-10:30PM. I'm wondering how can people be this careless and just inconsiderate.
Has there been any progress, improvement? I've been suffering from this for some time now and it's affecting my mental health (I'm even going to start taking antidepressants again for depression and panic), it's exactly the same as your case in the apartment above, except that in addition to the dogs, there's an out-of-control child who often gets awake until 2am ~3am, imagine the "common sense" and "politeness" of the mother who leaves a small child bumping into things and running around the house in the middle of the night. I'm still thinking about what can best be done because all these cases are difficult to deal with, there is no right recipe.
Ah, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I'm a little more tolerant of kids, but I totally understand how that can be just as frustrating and disruptive as well. It's definitely tricky to deal with. I hope you can find a resolution to your situation soon. 🙏🏾

Fam, I lived in Brooklyn for nearly two decades. I know what NYC noise is like. 🤣🤣 But again, it wasn’t just the noise. It's across the country like professional nuisance people. Never buy a coop, and don't buy condo with anyone above/below. Even small lot, single family homes weird stuff is going on. I lived under a white family with two kids that ran, then an Indian family/doctor mother, with two kids, one ran and a dog, with converted three bedroom, over my studio. I gave up, Idk who they work for or belong to, but it's professionally obnoxious people.
