There once was Benny, The Comicstorian. Now we have Dan, the Comicstorian! Carrying a legacy! Thank you for all you do, and continuing to honor the first.
Right? The amount of times I've wanted to reach into the screen and smack her is unreal. It's kinda ludicrous that she ever got as far as she did as any kind of vaguely official Government agent, as she's clearly been off her bracket for a long time, but it's made her eventual shutting down all the sweeter. I imagine she'll be back to cause trouble at some point, as they did lean into emphasising that her memories haven't been wiped, just locked away, and how many times have characters recovered from game-changing amnesia in comics? But until then at least, this is to be savoured 😁
Hot DAMN that was satisfying! Seeing Waller not just finally, properly beaten but also having that smug grin wiped off her face when Dreamer shows her hand, was like a massive serving of my favourite meal. Especially as I frequently struggle to recall things, so I know how torturous it is. Except I only forget odd words, not the entire basis of my power and success. Ooof level maximum, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Dan, your reading has gone from strength to strength over the course of this series! I'm going to have to backtrack and watch some of the other videos from the last few months now that I'm up to it. Thank you for keeping the legend alive.
Benny, i hope you can read this wherever you are. You are the single person that helped me survive through the worst of my depression. Ill miss you forever pal. Long live the comicstorian chanel
For Absolute Power: Super Son, based on reading this comic, I like that Nicole Maines and Sina Grace wrote Jon as a person who has suffered a lot of pain and trauma throughout Absolute Power, since we haven’t seen him be psychologically scarred after he was freed from the Brainiac Queen’s control. I like that Dreamer (who is in Jon’s mind after her supposed death) helped Jon take control of himself by accepting his pain and trauma as his own before he was able to free himself from mind control and say goodbye to her one last time. The unsurprising thing about this comic is that we get to see Jon and Jay interact with each other. Based on what they’re about to say, I knew that they would talk about what has happened all throughout Absolute Power (i.e. Jay’s mom getting kidded in the second issue of Dream Team, Dreamer working for Waller). Because of this, I assume that they’re going to break up, since (in my opinion) their relationship has been forced and unnecessary for the past three years (NOTHING ELSE). However, since Jon doesn’t want to lose Jay (since he lost almost everything), he thinks that their moving to San Francisco would fix their relationship, which is a dead end and would result in their relationship permanently ending after Absolute Power. Even if Jon and Jay decided to move to San Francisco after Absolute Power (resulting in them having an ongoing series written by Nicole Maines which might get canceled after at most twelve issues), then their relationship would strain and worsen overtime because of everything that’s happened to them since Absolute Power. Heck, I find it hilarious that Jon wants to go to San Francisco with Jay just to spend time together instead of talking it through and straining their relationship. Even though I view Jon and Nia as friends, I wouldn’t mind him pursuing a romantic relationship with her, since he has better chemistry with her than with Jay, which explains why Nicole Maines has said that the love triangle is Jon, Jay, and Nia is a lot like Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Wolverine (with Jay as Cyclops, Jon as Jean Grey, and Nia as Wolverine). Nicole Maines and Sina Grace have done an excellent job writing about Jon and his (probably) strained relationship with Jay. Let’s hope that the final issue of Absolute Power will result in all of the heroes defeating Waller and saving the world and Jon realizing that Jay dumped him because of what happened in Absolute Power and that they couldn’t make their relationship work because of it. Overall, this comic is great and is better than what Tom Taylor has written about Jon from the past three years. For Wonder Woman, I like that Diana and Steve spent this issue embracing themselves one another before they and Damian freed the superheroes and battled Waller’s forces. Overall, this is a good comic. For that Super Sons backup, I find it hilarious that Damian told Lizzie how she was probably conceived, since he’s the unreliable narrator just like future Ted Moseby (voiced by Bob Saget) in HIMYM. Overall, this was a good and hilarious backup. For Absolute Power, I find it satisfying that all it the heroes were able the defeat Waller, Task Force VII, Failsafe, the Bureau of Sovereignty, and Waller’s multiversal army. This includes Oliver revealing that he’s a double agent (like I called since the start of this event), Dreamer being alive by escaping into Jon’s mind, Starr deactivating Task Force VII, all of the heroes’ powers being returned (and swapped and scrambled), Barry sending Waller’s multiversal army back to their worlds (making sure that Prime Earth will be inaccessible to the multiverse), and Waller being defeated after exposing her plans to the entire world. I like that we get to see Waller be imprisoned after all she’s done since the Infinite Frontier Suicide Squad, War For Earth-3, the ending of Dark Crisis, Knight Terrors, Beast World, and Absolute Power. This includes Dreamer locking Waller from accessing all of the heroes’ secrets and telling her that there might be something planted inside her brain. I wonder if Dreamer will ever tell Jay Nakamura that she’s alive, that she was forced to join Waller’s team because she has her parents (in which she found them), and escaped into Jon’s mind so that she can heal herself up, causing Jay to still be mad at her for joining Waller’s team (because Waller killed his mom and destroyed Gamorra) and to dump Jon (in which his appearances in upcoming Superman books show him staying in Metropolis) because Jon sided with Dreamer and that she helped him remove the Brainiac Queen from his mind and that Jay cared about himself instead of others (in which he’ll become a villain after Absolute Power because he’s a terrible and unnecessary character). I also like that the Trinity had a talk with Oliver, in which Oliver apologized to them for what he did, causing him to say that the world needs the Justice League again after their disbandment in Dark Crisis and that the Titans did an okay job taking their place (even though Tom Taylor’s Titans run is a retread of popular Wolfman-Perez Titans storylines that barely done anything). Also, teasing the upcoming JLU comic. Let’s hope that Oliver will apologize to the Green Arrow Family for what he did and for them to (eventually) forgive him in his solo series. Mark Waid and Dan Mora has done an excellent job on this event, including having a change in status quo for DC All In and teasing JLU this November. I was wrong that Absolute Power would be a terrible comic because DC events since Dark Crisis have been lackluster or terrible (in my opinion) and that there have been multiple writers prior to Waid not knowing how to handle this event. Overall, this comic (and event) is great and better than Dark Crisis, Lazarus Plant, Knight Terrors, and Beast World.
This Issue was definitely great I can't wait for more & That Dan Mora Art is Sick It's something about how he draw the characters the features is crazy especially with Nightwing Superman Wonder woman & Batman Hell it's all great I'm ready for the next issues to drop now⚡🦇
This might be the third time a hero has mindwiped somebody in main continuity first two times in main continuity was unethical however I think even Batman would agree that while it may have been technically wrong to lock away Wallers memories of every ones secrets this was the right call. Waller having that much knowledge is too dangerous, I don't think even Lex would have gone after the heroes the way Waller would have if he knew every ones secret. Probably the opposite like what he did to reverse people's knowledge of Superman's identity to keep the status quo in check.
I am 26 was always kind of into superheroes but when I was 15 I came across ben and his team and he just made me fall in love again with comics ❤️and even still to this day I watch your videos and if I want to watch something a little scary I listen to batman endgame just amazing work from the team your are missed so so much benn thank you. For making me fall in love with comics 💔❤️💔❤️ RIP COMICSTORIAN
Yeah, control over the signals used to allow wireless communication can be a great superpower. Heck, once I made a TTRPG character that was basically the same except blind and deaf and had to use sonar for "sight" and a little radio he carried around for hearing and speaking.
I liked this event, thought it was pretty good. I did hope they were gonna do a little more with the amazos having a spark of the heroes in them still. Didn’t the one with green lanterns powers go rouge and started helping people. Or am I screwing up my stories. I wanted one to stay alive and be a hero version of amazo.
Why does any X villain character hate hero character? Why do criminals hate Spider-Man and/or the Avengers? Why do criminals hate Batman? Why does Shredder hate the ninja turtles? Because they’re the bad the guy and the heroes stop them from committing crimes
Finally the multiverse is history this gets me back into comics it's why I quit reading comics along with all the social justice left-wing anti-American anti-white nonsense but the multiverse is just no good it destroys everything it makes all the stories pointless and especially at Omniverse made it even worse we got to go back to the post crisis universe One universe one version of each character I know they have this absolute thing and I'm buying all those books but I do over verse where I know that's setting up for some big story where I think somehow this is going to I don't know what they're doing but I don't think it's going to remain like that but the multiverse had to go and I don't think they should ever bring it back they should have completely destroyed it not said that it's walled off they should have just said it no longer exists
I got a hack-y DC story! Amanda Waller becomes the Mother part of the Mother Box, then something something combines with Darkseid and becomes the New God of Dominion and Control. And even though she is a giant alien space-creep she still doesn't realize she's the bad guy.

@theshadowcatcher4721 yep.
This is the first video I’ve watched since Bennys passing. Miss you dude, and we always will.
A fate worse than death. Couldn’t have asked for anything better
I love a dc story were Waller gets what's coming to her we don't gets this enough

Been a Sub to this channel for about 10 years. Shocked to see the Benny news RIP man. I’m obviously late but WOW.
I was shocked when I heard!
Same dude 😢😢 I'm so shocked
Like trying to remember a dream. Nice ending.
Awesome story and a great new status quo moving forward. Benny would have dug this story. You are all doing a great job keeping it going in his honor.
Waller getting a defeat? Awesome

I imagine someone putting waller on the suicide squad.
Well, Dreamer does imply that there's a bomb in her head...but refuses to confirm it.
I love this story! Thanks guys.
I feel sad, we will not hear benny voice ever again.
I know its really sad that we wont hear any new from him, but you can always go back to listen to his older videos if you miss his voice
Justice League is back in action after AP!!

They really had to let Dreamer (someone no one cares about) randomly show up to get the hit on Waller…
Couldn’t let Nightwing do it…
And thus begins the JLA animated series.
This is awesome
From what I’ve seen I’m excited to see what’s next
Miss you Benny, Dan you are doing an amazing job
Wish you were here Benny

I hate how Waller is still alive but this might be a more interesting fate for her
Tell me about it. Amanda Waller is a pain in the ass.
Absolute Power, Hell yeah!!!
a comic where Waller wins or all most lol I do believe Benny would have loved this
If this is the final amanda wallet story for at least ten years im good with that
Cut off from the multiverse, huh? Wonder how many months that will last...

Did Airwave get his powers from experimental internet gas?
Nah, his dad invented a suit with those abilities and he inherited them naturally.

Airwave’s power is that he controls Wi-Fi signals.
That’s weirdly specific and kinda stupid.
This is a great story! Amanda Waller feels off though.
Really... wifi as a superpower...
Ok
It goes a bit further than that. He can manipulate and transform into various types of energy. Being able to act as wifi is just a side effect.
Yeah, control over the signals used to allow wireless communication can be a great superpower.

Is there an actual reason Waller hates the heroes so much?
They Dare Exist.
Why does any X villain character hate hero character?
Why do criminals hate Spider-Man and/or the Avengers?
Why do criminals hate Batman?
