@warrendinCLE even if that's the case the buyer did nothing wrong. He made an assessment, made an offer and the seller accepted. If a card graded higher, then he did better than he expected but still based his offer on what he believed the condition was. Just my 2 cents 🤗
I am the proud owner of two of the cards from the Arizona find. I did a cash and trade for the 1934 Goudey Jimmie Foxx SGC 2 with Leighton at the Philly show last March, and I hit the 1933 Goudey Paul Waner SGC 3 in the set break they did a few months ago. I sent you photos of these two cards on twitter, Mike.
I always ask myself why couldn’t I be so lucky to find something like this. lol happy for the people. I would have sleeved them and top loaders them for sure. I would keep a few for myself but put the rest out to public and hope whoever buys them would love and cherish theses beauties.
I think I'd have a heart attack because I would know how much money it would take to grade those cards and if with PSA a heavy up charge fee. I would sell a few raw and then take the money and grade the rest. Getting the story behind any Vintage cards is true gold to any collector.
I had pretty much the same story as this guy. My neighbor approached me with an old collection he wanted to sell. But instead of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig I found Gene Garber and Rich Hebner. Instead of Moe Berg I found Ernie Whitt. But otherwise, the exact same. I am so lucky.
These cards are out there still. You may recall my find of 50 or so t205 and t206’s in a scrapbook in a mobile home park a couple years ago, I mentioned it here once before. Nothing like this obviously but collections like that do pop up. Less and less over time I’m sure.
Good for them. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they kept a handful that they really wanted to and sold a large bit of them in one private sale. Having such strong provenance - and near zero worry about them being trimmed or 'rehabilitated' in any way would be enticing for collectors who do not want cards like that in their collection.
I had the good fortune to obtain 20+ binders of baseball and football card's in an attic. One binder was loaded with autographed card's. Yogi Whitey, Brooks and Harmon to name a few. But the best one is an autographed Joe DiMaggio Bowery card.
Hi Mike. I really enjoy this type of videos. Please keep these coming. I think that I would keep some of these cards for myself and sell the rest of them. I know I would keep a couple of those Ruth and Gehrig cards.
This was a fantastic find - all of your videos prove that this stuff is still hidden out there - it gives me hope lol🤞🏻 - Without having them in hand, I would say that I would keep one of each of the big dogs and sell the rest, but I know myself pretty well - the collector in me would sell enough just to break even and keep the rest - it’s not every day you can get a Ruth or Gehrig for free. 👍🏻
Awesome story. I have once held all of those Ruth and Gehrig cards in my hand. I wish I could own one of the ruth cards. It would be the centerpiece of my collection
Thats crazy to find and believe me there's more out there to be found and make it on Friday finds here but just when is the question mike. I would grade them all and keep 1 of everything and sell the rest.
If it was me… I’d deliver it to the grading company myself and wait ( or pay) to have them done asap and only then would I sell them myself to make sure you got what they were worth
What would I do? I'd probably sell the smalls that I don't want to keep and take that money to grade the big ones with PSA. And I'd have put them into card savers before the flight, but what do I know?
I’ld keep one of each card. The worse one. Then sell the others. I’m not a huge pre war fan and mostly collect football so although a very cool find not much interest to me. I’ld use the proceeds to build a house 😂😂 As always great video. I really like these attic find videos.
Man imagine if you was left this collection what would you do with it. Hopefully they sold some and then kept some to remember their grandparent by. Dealers are shady like that they offer you one low price and they make up excuses why they will grade a certain way. I would have sent the Babe Ruths off and see what they came back at then determined the price afterwards. I'm sure the buyer made 5-10x his money back on these cards. But at the same time I would be scared to send these into PSA or any grading company, because they can say they got lost in the mail.
Just imagine if he had found like 6 "Nap" LaJoie's in their. Oh these??? Yeah I think they're probably about $80 a poece.....😂 just kidding. I don't think he would do that.
I would drive to PSA offices and have everything graded immediately. Then I'd make a call to Heritage Auctions and make a deal with them. Sit back and count the stacks of money.
Maybe some of them came back as higher grades, and they didn’t want the original owner to know they made more money than estimated
Ooooo interesting theory
Nailed it.
You would hope that wouldn't be the case. But it's hard to trust in our society these days. JMO!
yep

I totally agree with your thoughts.

Yeah I’d love to hear more about that story if you have details and photos.
This could make a great AFF.

The greatest way to find anything rare is to pursue EVERY LEAD......It's a long process ( I know ) but it pays off every once in a while. :)
Never get tired of the attic finds!!!!! Hats off sir👏👏👏👏💎

Nice!

Thanks Jim!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible story and a fantastic find.
Great find. I wish I had that luck finding a collection like that.
You and me both!

One hell of a find!
Thanks for the upload, Mike. 👍
If it was me… I’d deliver it to the grading company myself and wait ( or pay) to have them done asap and only then would I sell them myself to make sure you got what they were worth
I would keep the set and sell the rest but keep one each of the 1934 Gehrig's. My favorite player of all time.
Damn….
Why can’t even 4% of something like this happen to me
I would have sleeved them up for sure! Very cool!
What would I do? I'd probably sell the smalls that I don't want to keep and take that money to grade the big ones with PSA.

Exactly my thought. I’m no expert 🤷🏻♂️
Crazy find!
great story and even better story telling...Keep up the great work on your channel!
Thank you!
Great stuff, nice find. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, Orlando!
😮. wish we had an attic in the house.
Would keep a set and a few of the others extra and sell off the others. Great pickup
Kool story. Would really wanna see the results. New sub here. Thanks buddy. Have a blessed day. Aloha
Thanks and welcome!
I would sleeve up what I could, keep some, and sell the rest......eventually. A newsletter!, 🤩
That's the plan!
Your channel is great! Love these finds, so interesting!
Thanks so much!
Was taking these to an "auction house" type-scenario not an option? I assume the family would have made a lot more money at auction.
I love hate these finds. Love to see it but why can’t I find a million dollars worth of cards!!!
Haha me too
Great video, Mike! Looking forward to hearing more about the newsletter, have a great day 🍻
Thanks Sam!
Wow, this is a very cool one! What a dream
No kidding!

Sweet video!!👍😎
Supply, demand, inflation, expendable income are the situation for this business. Historical pop value is the museum
I would've sleeved and top loaded them. Then get them graded and sell for more money
I would have to keep the nice ones for my self.

Great story Mike! Id losey mind!!!! They would be all sleeve and definitely not lose in a box! Lol
Right?!
They really should have taken the time to sell the cards individually instead of all at once.
Mike, you are slowly but surely making me resent my dead grandparents 😅
Hahaha mine left me nothing!
Just imagine if he had found like 6 "Nap" LaJoie's in their. Oh these??? Yeah I think they're probably about $80 a poece.....😂 just kidding. I don't think he would do that.
Sleeves? You could drop those cards in the lake and they wouldn't look much worse.
I would just put them in my shirt pocket with my Salem Lights 😂
New kind of tobacco cards lol
I would grade and sell some, and leave the rest for my sons.
If only !!!!!😢
Fun video! I'm gonna go back to watching Cowboys meme videos now. (It never gets old)
Hahahaha
If you inherited these, would you sell or keep?
Both, sell some - keep some. Use the money earned to enhance my own personal collection.
I would drive to PSA offices and have everything graded immediately. Then I'd make a call to Heritage Auctions and make a deal with them. Sit back and count the stacks of money.
I think we all threw up a little bit when we saw the cards in that box.
Ha yup
Die of Shock is what I would do😅
Love AFF
Thank you!
Thank you! I’ll be signing up for the newsletter for sure-keep up the good work
I wouldn't trust buyers.most likely got ripped off
Grandad prolly died of cancer and those cards were all the results of his habit
Ummm penny sleeves atleast???? Geez!
Sell it all and buy Bitcoin. 😎
Wow! I would sell a good portion of it and buy ultra modern junkwax 😂 JK!
lol
Retail panini.
