I've said it before. I really think that the show should have had Nicky and Gabby actually get married, then have had Nicky confess. At least that way, the whole Gabby wants Revenge storyline would have more of an emotional backbone. I am glad Billy went to Dawn instead of letting the blackmail plot drag on. Hopefully Gabby finally calms down, but I'm not holding my breath LOL.

Nicky still deserves some hate for using and seducing Gabby but in the end he did the right thing. Imagine how much worse it would have been if the two actually got married, or even "consummated" the marriage? What a nightmare divorce scenario that would have been LOL...
I cant stand gabby and her actions are indefensible, but even without the wedding her feelings towards nicky are valid. He led her on for months, pretended to love her, acted as a father to her son, slept with her, proposed only to pull out at the last second, the emotional back bone is there. What he did to her was incredible cruel. I can't tell if the audiences lack of empathy is due to a bias against the character or a general lack of compassion for women.

Its one of those scenarios where the hate should go towards the writers and not the characters. Gabby is a victim, but she is being written so horribly that its hard to feel bad for her. To be clear, Nicky isn't a monster, but he still deceived her. I like Nicky and look forward to see where his story goes, but from a storyline perspective, it probably would have been better if he had left the series after the sham marriage was revealed, or at the very least stayed away much longer before returning.
