Hey everyone - I KNOW THE MUSIC IS SUPER LOUD, I’m sorry! There is an updated link in the description box for parts one and two and the AUDIO IS FIXED!
I actually really enjoy the music 🥴
The way miranda chases che really was grimy , like a middle schooler trying to please their crush.
THIS. I hate it with a passion. If she wouldn’t tolerate this from a MAN what makes it ok now that it’s a masc presenting woman who is non binary?
@@aspyn.j_ I agree, shitty behavior is shitty behavior, the problem is they wrote che to be a unicorn of virtue. Somehow.
that's kinda pathetic.
Yes.
That middle schooler was me 😅 so, I recognize that clingy person anywhere lmaoo original Miranda would NEVER
miranda’s behaviour is peak toxic babygay
"I'm a fucking narcissist" is the most honest thing Che has said.
right???? just completely expose yourself, miranda isn't going anywhere.
which is why Miranda fell for her. she is a narcissist as well.
The way you kept throwing "oregano" in there sent me. LMAO. I still absolutely hate how they ruined Miranda's character. She was one of my favorites during the original series.
Agreed! They totally ruined Miranda, she would never have changed this much in the original series as far as her personality goes; it's so cringey to watch
She might get dementia tho😂
She was my fave too despite all of her flaws. I guess the show is hellbent on ruining everyone except Charlotte because she usually has the most growth.
The OG Miranda wouldn't have put up with a second of Che's bullshit. Of all the ways that they ruined SATC's legacy with And Just Like That, the Miranda/Che story was the worst.
Yes OG miranda would had left the moment she was being disrespected
@@angelaholmes8888OG Miranda would’ve hated Che from the moment she gave her minor son weed imo
THIS.
The OG Miranda wouldn't have lost their phone while cleaning up the beach - and even if she did - she wouldn't have reacted like a headless chicken. Miranda is in control. Or was. They destroyed that character. She became spineless.
They kinda through dignity right out the window.
Che is the new Big; Steve is the new Aidan; Miranda is the new Carrie.
ding ding ding!
Yes!
Ewww
Oh waw, you nailed it!
Noooooo that's a horrible universe
I'll never forgive the writers for what they did to Miranda and Steve *(especially* Steve)! I really enjoyed this. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!!
I agree 👍
It feels like everyone who touches it has to put THEIR stamp on the show, ignoring what came before. I'd rather they cancel it than allow this crap to be out there in the universe sullying the show's legacy.
I just pretend the show ends after the 1st movie. Or this is an alternate universe.
@cjd5235 me too. I dont care about anything that comes after the first movie.
Che and Miranda have as much chemistry as an old lighter on wet cardboard. Idk what they were going for when they introduced Che.
a bunch of boxes to tick.
Che too hardcore. She should be on Mad Max
Nothing in AJLT makes sense. Carrie Bradshaw is a well known author (regardless of how mediocre her writing is) and her boss is a failing comedienne 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 The writing is just so sloppy.
@@aspyn.j_ Apparently Nia was going to be her love interest but Cynthia Nixon wanted someone more butch. Which isn't something I'm against in theory, but they should still be likable right?
@@blkloislane That's too bad. Nya would probably have made more sense with Miranda.
Ok, who brings tequila for a person who is recovery?
someone like che lol
Better yet she was a drunk and then stopped with no mention of getting help lol 😂
Che obviously 😅
An... Asshole, that's who.
@@WynnWynn-gl3fkShe went to AA meetings in LA.
The show missed the opportunity to discuss Che and Miranda's early relationship for what it actually was, an affair. If written correctly. it would detail how affairs aren't always about people being "bad" but a nuanced look at how we age in long term relationships. Its particularly odd since the premise of Miranda's affair with Che is identical to Steve's in the first movie. Its also odd that none of the other women demanded Miranda own up to the affair and speak to Steve. It was all together a terribly written storyline ad made me understand why Kim Catrall quite this hotmess show.
yeah they're all replaced by aliens because this is a mess and it's not even a fun mess. all the nuance is gone, they're just ticking boxes because why the hell is che coming back for a THIRD season?
Welp, maybe they don’t call out on her behavior because Miranda is a woman. Right now most narratives are: if something awful and morally wrong is done by a woman, they can get away with it. Men on the other hand if they did the same…
@@Asheelaz That quite literally is not the narrative going. Give it a rest. The reason no one has told Miranda to tell her husband is because their loyalty is to MIRANDA!
@@matxalenc8410 It's art imitate life with Cynthia Nixon with her poor husband.
Please remember that the third movie's storyline that Kim turned down was a 14 year old Brady sending d*** pics and trying to hook up with Samantha! 😮 Yes, you read that right! So thank you Kim for ensuring Samantha's legacy is intact alltough they almost ruined it in the second movie.
Seeing every scene of them together in a row really hits home how toxic this relationship was. It reminds me of myself with my first ex: I'd cling like grim death to the slightest sign that he wanted to be with me, and he'd only come around when it suited him. But I was 18 years old then. Miranda should have known better at her age.
yeah it's quite disappointing because miranda would never act like this behind a man...she'd be too ashamed of herself. not sure how dating a non-binary person makes it all ok.
@@aspyn.j_ It doesn't! The only way they could have done a worse job representing a nonbinary person is to make them a sex worker who makes men puke at the sight of their junk.
@@aspyn.j_ I'm sometimes shocked at how many times I see a non hetero couple's toxicity overlooked in fiction (and real life sometimes) just because they're not hetero
@aspyn.j_ I don't think it has anything to do with Che being a non binary person. I think it has more to do with Miranda's insecurities. She's older, she quit her job at the law firm and she's in a long term sexless marriage. Her self confidence has taken some hits, and it is sad to see, but it happens.
Miranda’s 20 year long mid life crisis and Che’s eyebrows are a burden upon my soul. I just watch on mute for LTW, Nya, and Seema’s clothes.
🤣🤣🤣 Ches eyebrows 🤣🤣🤣
And yes I love seema’s fashion! Same with LTW.
@@aspyn.j_ they’re horrible, right?!?! 😂
@@aspyn.j_ Gurl, when LTW carried her wig case through the snowstorm, I caught the Holy Ghost in my living room. 💃🏾💃🏾🤣
I could’ve written this comment😂
“I’m just the girlfriend” Che’s face killed me. I literally made the 😬 face. Miranda should’ve just ran.
Fr. If anyone ever makes that face when you say that you’re their gf, you might want to just leave 😂
I think it’s normal that some people go through a life crisis when they are older. It’s normal that a marriage goes through trouble. But she definitely has psychological and emotional problems which don’t seem to be tackled in the show. She has always been kind of neurotic and desperate in a way. But now that she’s older, her neurosis has gone up by a 100.
Also, we know she tends to get clingy sometimes when it came to men who had Che’s attitude. I’m rewatching the sex and the city series and it’s shown multiple times that she’s attracted to men who have a narcissistic or have an aggressive personality. Which does translate as to why she’s attracted to Che. Che has a difficult and aggressive personality.
She wants to cling to Che so that she feels that her choices was correct
I instantly hated the Che character. It was an empty shell with no depth and felt gross from the start. Che is a horrible person. The attempt to impress certain people with those fake woke crap is embarrassing and it fell flat. Our society is going thru some weird developmental stage and has waaaay overshot trying to please certain groups. That's not being inclusive. It's fake disingenuous kissing ass and it won't work on Intelligent people who are actually paying attention. This is just wrong.
thank you. it's very fake and performative and to think, if they'd just kept the show going without che, it would have probably been way better. still shitty, but not as bad. and they were written like a character the audience is meant to LIKE which is absolutely insane.
You said it perfectly. It’s fine to have diversity but this show is soooo obviously trying to pander to a specific group of people and it comes off as disingenuous and sooooo cringe-worthy 😣
I agree !! I hate seeing it and can't wait for it to just stop
@@brih220 , honestly, I doubt most shows today are made for diversity/representation purposes, either. Hollywood doesn't care diversity or minorities. They care about BUSINESS and MARKETING. And randomly adding "diverse characters" or changing what established characters were like originally to be a part of those diverse minorities, is proving to draw more attention and interaction on social media. Hollywood knows what they're doing may bring controversy. But CONTROVERSY BRINGS PUBICITY, therefore PUBLICITY MEANS BUSINESS. And whether that engagement is for better or worse, it still gets people a reason to talk about your product.
This is honestly why I hate they try to change the sexuality of characters just because the actor playing them is gay. Like Miranda didn't need to leave her husband of 20 years. It made no sense at all and made her unlikable.
I hate the way Miranda dumped Steve. She treated him like garbage.
Even though Steve has annoyed me a lot in the original show and he cheated on her, she never respected him and always acted like she was doing him a favor for being with him.
How tf is Brady underage when he was born in 2002???? Do they not have clocks and calendars in Carrie’s universe??
Yeah apparently MPK just said eff it and decided to set the show in an alternate universe.
@@aspyn.j_ I hate that. We deserve better.
It must have been the time-machine-plot they will explore in season 3.
Makes it even more disgusting because it just forced the issue of him being under 18 in spite of the show constantly referring to Covid in the first season.
"New Jersey's not going to make itself laugh." No, mate, and neither are you.
LMAO!!!!
😂😂
The Miranda I know would never put up with this.
This video made me realize I was the Miranda in my last relationship. And that is the most horrifying sentence I have ever uttered.
Don’t be ashamed, at least you learned from it. I too, was the miranda to a couple guys’ (and friends too) Che and it’s more of a lesson now. Glad you’re out of it now tho!
Che was INSUFFERABLE. I couldn’t stand that character!
Damn did they all undergo botox? And lets be real Miranda never loved steve she tolerated him
They're trying so hard with this storyline, it feels so hammed in. 'DM me back or whatever' sounds like when old people try to act young
Che sounds like “how do you do fellow kids?”
I am a latina and my last name is Díaz and i dissaprove of Che Díaz.....this character is a disgrace for the latino comunity 😡😡😡
I honestly h4ted Che's character, that wasn't Miranda

She’s rocking the fuccboi special 🤣
This was great! I kept saying Miranda musta got a brain transplant with how she acts in AJLT! Justice for Steve & Che is the worst & now that I think about it exactly what Miranda deserves can’t wait for you to do season 2 on the train wreck cause it only gets worse
thank you so much for watching! i LITERALLY just recorded the voice over for part 2 because you're right, it's even worse. :/
@@aspyn.j_ np bout to watch another video of yours & probably subscribe great work sis
I never liked Miranda, now that I'm older, I CAN'T STAND THAT SELFISH COW. She's the WORST. "This isn't enough! " NOTHING EVER IS FOR HER.
this is true. she's never happy.
The things Che said about Miranda were insanely cruel. It’d be cruel to say to someone’s face let alone an audience for laughs. I couldn’t stand that Carrie stayed friendly with them after that.
In fact Che as a whole is extremely selfish. It almost feels like they didn’t write them to be like a real human, they tried so hard to make them “confident” and “unapologetic” they accidentally made them an asshole.
Che is a narcissist.
The narration and writing is A+. I would lower the background music a little
Thank you for the feedback and omg I wish I could fix that because it is loud af lmao it’s better on the second part!
I also hate how the show is trying to push weed. Some people don't like it, including myself. The smell makes me sick and if someone tried to breathe it into my face, thats be the end of that friendship for not respecting boundaries.
I smoke weed and I agree. I would never just light up unless someone said it was ok. However I feel the same way you do about cigarettes. Either way, best to ask first or just idk go outside?
@@aspyn.j_ I agree, ty for understanding my view. I dont do weed but I'm not going to belittle someone who does. Just do it at your place not mine right? :)
I agree also. As a weed smoker, it's pretty bizarre to see weed smokers portrayed as overstepping people's boundaries and constantly pressuring non-smokers to smoke. Smokers mostly smoke with fellow smokers.
I smoke but I think it’s insane to just light up in someone’s house with out asking, much less at a fucking funeral😭
@@desireesmusic6236 ikr, why at a funeral
The original Miranda wouldn't be this clingy and needy I hate how they try to make so woke
Right she was a corporate lawyer 😂
Original Miranda have more attitude
I just hate how the things that happened on the og episodes have gone out the window. Like when Miranda was set up with a gay lawyer from her firm? They go on a “date” to one of the partner’s dinner parties and try to kiss in the elevator. But Miranda realizes that she’s straight. Also Che is just a horrible person for the reasons laid out in this video.
Thats not what woke means everytime its something different doesn't make it woke
@@ripwednesdayadams Honestly, Miranda being queer is not the issue. They could have done a storyline on her and Steve growing apart and falling out of love, and getting a divorced, but remaining friends. And then have her come out later in life, as she begins to develop feelings for he rprofessor.
I’m currently rewatching SATC on Netflix, and I will say that Miranda having a midlife crisis with Steve and Brady might have been something believable and honest… if it had been done right. But Miranda Hobbs chasing someone so uncaring towards her and being so desperate to someone mistreating her is NOT Miranda. This doesn’t even feel like the same person!
Wow, this was brilliant! Thanks!
You’re welcome!!!
I feel like it's a good story to tell, it's just not Miranda's story to tell. It's almost like Che is the main character w/Miranda as the side.
100% this. very true.
Miranda fits the description of an addict to a tee. Where the thing she’s addicted to is another person and willing to give up their whole lives to satisfy the other. Che is a narcissist who needs the constant validation that Miranda offers them. But also the validation that everyone else gives them too.
Everyone is on here saying they hate how AJLT ruined Miranda's character and I agree to an extent; but if you go back and rewatch the show, you can see she was always kind of like this. Sure, she wasn't whiny and thoughtless; but her self loathing, repressed queerness, and even her alcoholism was always there.
When she goes on a date with the detective who was supposed to help Carrie find her stolen shoes, she becomes super insecure, gets wasted, and he ghosts her the next morning and leaves the phone number for her local AA chapter.
Miranda also never really liked Steve. He cajoles her into a committed relationship when she made it clear from the beginning she wanted something casual; on their honeymoon she's miserable and uninterested in sex; she doesn't want to cuddle with him several times while they're dating, she doesn't want him to move in; the list goes on. She has a super unique style in the original series that often borders on being very masculine. She keeps her hair cut short. Her being gay is super believable. Miranda is to Steve as Big is to Carrie.
Finally, Miranda has always been miserable, unhappy, and caustic. In the original series I think a) her youth b) the whimsical and lighthearted nature of the show and c) her friends, softened how intense Miranda's neuroses could be. It was usually played off as her having a strong personality, or just being sarcastic and having a strong back bone, but if you go back and pay attention it's really startling. In the episode where Miranda finally starts dating Steve, right after she offends him and he leaves the restaurant, she says "I knew it. Big's not coming. Men are shit." with tears in her eyes. Obviously I know she was crying because of her emotions about Steve, but Carrie (who is decidedly straight) would never have said something like that.
In conclusion, I also hate the reboot. But it's realistic as hell. The choices we make in our youths can and do make us miserable if we are not true to ourselves. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Bravo. Well said.
I’m also rewatching the series and look at it from an older pov. And I agree with you to a certain degree. Miranda had lots of times to explore her sexuality but she denied it. Just because she was more masculine does not mean it was obvious she was repressing herself. If that side was explored at least even once during the show then it would have been understandably.
Agree with the fact that Miranda is kind of neurotic, clingy and likes aggressive personality. Which is what I see that attracts her to Che. Either way, my take on Miranda is that she desperately wants to be in a relationship but she gets bored immediately. She doesn’t realize that the way she behaves in heterosexual relationships is not the same way she should act in a bisexual relationship.
And Steve, as much as I like him, they should have had them just be friendly parents and not have them be together. The writers had her settle
I think you have inadvertently proved how expert writing, particularly the comedic kind can allow beloved characters to get away with everything and anything 😂☕️
Because you are so spot on about OG Miranda. But of course because of time gone by & AJLT’s abominable writing, folks are now looking back on the character (SATC in general tbh) with a VERY idealized lens
They addressed Miranda’s queer style and personality in the original series. She entertains dating a lesbian, and decides it isn’t for her. I’ve known masculine straight women, that’s what Miranda was.
@@Rinniantoinette agree she and steve would have made pretty good coparents since they balance each other out. Also agree that a masculine straight woman is not an oxymoron and they definitely exist. In miranda's case though, I'd say her having suchly a starkly masculine style compared to her friends in combination with her dissatisfaction with a heteronormative lifestyle was evidence that a queer relationship would have suited her a lot better
Che is Mr. Big
basically.
Wowzers.
But wayyyyyyy less attractive. Big at least had Zaddy energy. Che looks like a 2000s era teenage Insane Clown Posse stan (a.k.a. a Juggalo). 😂
@@Gobble_de_Goop😂
@@Gobble_de_Goopnot a juggalo 🤣
Everyone made out like the hatred of Che Diaz was transphobia. Nope. They're just a terrible, narcissistic character. Thank God they're not coming back for another season (though I've already given up on the woke-performative, self congratulatory AJLT, which misses the SaTC niche entirely.) This show was never overtly about social justice issues, and it sucks all the enjoyment out of it when the viewer is constantly bludgeoned with condescending lessons about social justice. It feels like an extended lecture from the writers masquerading as a sitcom. The point of inclusivity is to just include people of color and LGBTQ characters in the pretty fashion and relationship foibles that SaTC was always about, not to make it all about their differences and how much they struggle to be included. Just include them and don't self congratulate yourself on including them, writers and producers. What a missed opportunity and wrong response to the criticism of SaTC's lack of inclusivity.
Miranda is why some women got to be less high strung & experiment with their true desires earlier in life so they don’t go thought a bisexual mid life crisis when they got much more to lose lol.
Thing is in the show, she DID experiment a little…she kissed a woman but knew it wasn’t for her and the woman she kissed knew it too. Cynthia Nixon is just modeling Miranda after her real life because IRL she dumped her husband for a butch woman.
This was good! I love the way you broke this down
Thank you!!!
Totally cool ✨✌🏻🏀
The writers really messed up dealing with che and miranda relationship they definitely are not healthy together 🚩
even maria and Samantha made more sense than these two, che is the worst!
I liked Maria and samantha relationship they did make sense
the biggest crime they've done to Miranda is make a blonde have to wear redhead colours for the last 26 years
LMAO i can't even lie, that's funny.
She suits red though. Even as a natural blonde, it looks slightly red in hue anyway, in younger photos of the real life actor
Omg I could not stand Che character on this show

Hate how everyone thinks this kind of character change can’t happen. I saw it happen in real time with my sister. She was a “hard-ass” type growing up but then all of a sudden in our 20s she’s this emotional softie that cries when she used to make fun of me when I’d cry.
I think they gave miranda a toxic relationship bc Big was gone, and the show kinda thrived on the constant drama of the toxic relationship. idk
6:22 I just watched the video where you said Carrie sent Steve when Miranda had her eye surgery, now it's Miranda letting Carrie down. Full circle!
I wish they focused on Miranda, either exploring how to enjoy life or finding herself again that she lost in a stressful job/motherhood. Or exploring her sexuality outside of Che. Why go from one long time marriage into a “relationship”. Especially if she hated her marriage. She was never one for relationships in SATC so why now??
i like Miranda and Steve together
You know the irony is Miranda did to Steve what he did in the movie and she lost it.
And I just realized that Che does to Miranda what Big did to Carrie. No wonder it's toxic as F.
Needed this 👏 fr
This may not be a popular opinion. But I feel that Miranda always needed a very strong alpha presence for her to be happy. And steve was not that. She wanted someone "stronger" than her. Whether she found that personality in a man or a woman. Steve coyldnt provide that. Che still sucked tho
absolutely. not unpopular at all, at least to me. she needed someone on equal footing as her. too bad robert's character went to shit.
I can't handle the piano background music in this
I know it’s annoying - I reuploaded it with the 2nd half and the audio is fixed.
Carrie had some nerve lecturing Miranda about an affair!
Ahhhh I love your videos. The way you explain things is exactly the way I’m thinking!! I am so excited for AJLT3 😭 I love watching how cringe it is 😂
does che ever explain why their performances are called comedy ‘concerts’? i only saw s1 and i was under the impression that the term is comedy ‘show’. them constantly calling che’s mid stand-up routines concerts makes me cringe to this day
AJLT is an alternate world, i'm convinced. che doesn't ever have to take accountability for anything. they get to smoke in elevators and outside of funerals and everyone just carries on. carrie is for whatever reason besties with che although they had sex with her best friend in her kitchen and stunk up her apartment with weed PLUS they shit talk her alleged ride-or-die. like i just don't get it. AND they get rewarded with another love interest. it's maddening.
Great job on this video! Che is prime example of who we all regret dating at some point in our lives
How did anyone never notice how unfunny Che's comedy is? Does America really think Queer people have no understanding of how humor works?
yeah, i never even giggled from one of their lame "jokes."
And Just Like That took all of
Miranda’s worst qualities and blew them up. Then they added some new previously nonexistent ones.
I don’t believe she ever loved Steve. I mean in season four she said what if someone better comes along my goodness, but who is better for Miranda
I can't wait for part 2! =D
me neither lmao i was raging on this one alone
remember in the original satc when carrie secretly gets back with big and miranda calls her a needy, insecure victim?was that foreshadowing how miranda would act with che? and personally i think ajlt was cynthia nixon not the miranda hobbes we know and love..
It would have made more sense if Charlotte had ended up bisexual, than Miranda. Miranda had already dated a woman, and it was a hard "no." When Charlotte's boyfriend wanted the threeway, she seemed really in to it. I still laugh how that turned out, though. One of the funniest scenes in the O.G. series was "The Peacock." 😅
Can I just say it doesn’t feel natural? Like at all? Zero chemistry. She had more tension with that guy dressed like a sandwich from SATC 😂
The level of cringe I experienced watching Miranda run after Che. I can’t believe what they’ve done to this character
This version of Miranda was just so tough to watch. She never gushed over anybody like that on SATC. But of course in AJLT She’s unhappy and she has a drinking problem.
Suuuuch a good analysis 🎉 they ruined miranda, and why did che have to be so damn unlikeable?
Because the actor is reprehensible. You can tell in interviews.
Honestly I think it could have worked, if che wasn't so unlikeable and Miranda was treated as for what she is. A women in a midlife crises who changed her loving spouse that stuck by her for 20 years for a younger more exciting model. Like imagine a story about a dude who was an absent father, cheating on his loving wife of a similar age for the younger new chick that smoked weed with their son. And besides that If anyone of the originalcast should be fucking chicks, it is Samantha. Besides that if che is non binary it is still a hetero relationship. As a homo you need to fuck your own gender (Not Sex), however Miranda is still identifying as female while Che is not, therefore hetero. And I think this is true for a Lot of plotlines. Why not investigate what it meanseto loose your life Partner and building Up your life again? Like they did with Emily in the Gilmore Girls sequel? Or have Charlotte actually maturing further as her childern mature? Just like she matured, when she understood what beeing married is about, now she learns that actually beeing a parent is putting your kids before you. This could have been so good when they would have actually commited to the idea of them aging and confronting what new challenges come with aging, but they just didn't. That would also have been really progressive as we tend to just not get old women in media.
100% agree with everything you said. it's not the story itself, it has everything to do with how its being told.
'If Che is non binary it's a hetero relationship' bro...don't act stupid. Che is female. It's a same SEX relationship.
Homosexuality is 100% about being attracted to your same sex.

If they were going to have Miranda chase tail then she needs to not look like an old lady.
They ruined SATC by doing this. The whole script the characters it was all awful. All this they them 💩 and making the characters different to what they was. Absolutely terrible. Also losing Samantha it just didn’t work
Can I PLEASE keep Steve?!? He’s GORGEOUS 💕
Che is such a narcissist. Why would someone as confident and savvy as Miranda go for someone like that? OG Miranda wouldn’t have put up with a second of that bs. This new Miranda is clingy and weird. There’s no way that’s the same character.

@@aspyn.j_it is actually grammatically correct. Not to mention respectful. You’re treating the character and the actor with dignity. Don’t back down from that because some people want to complain that it “confuses” them.
