It’s pronounced “KAY-RAH-LAA”.... also euphemistically called “God’s own country”.... it’s a beautiful land with beautiful culture, food, and traditions.... you have backwaters, beaches, rain forests, mountains and everything in between.... also I almost forgot to mention, this place makes the best movies in India.... if you thought Nawazuddin was great, you will be blown away by the performances of Mohanlal, Mammootty, Thilakan, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha etc... some of the directors here are leagues better than Vishal Bharadwaj etc.... this is where you wanna go in India.
Guys that snake boat is around 100ft long. The guys with the long oars in the back actually steer the boat to go straight. During ancient times Snake boats were meant to transport the soldiers of the Travancore Maharajah's. Hundred or more oarsmen are there in a snake boat, that means one boat can carry hundred soldiers at a time in one boat.

I'm going to visit Kerala in November...😁
Always welcome
This is the place you should visit in India... don’t bother with Mumbai, the Taj Mahal etc ... this is where you wanna go.
Pls react on "Thalam by AR Rahman" abaut this boat race
Even Being from kerala haven't seen the Nehru Trophy live, wish to see it some day :)

It’s the most beautiful state in India. People and food are equally good. We spent two days on back waters and the experience was amazing.
Kkkkkkkoooooorrrrrrrŕrrrrbbbbbbbbbbiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn..well its 1 min gone..😂😂😂

There is a very energetic folk song linked to this boat race .. that has come out in various versions over the years.. but still it sticks to any Malayalee tongue for its rhythm.... it's a victory song.

Newfoundland St John's Regatta is one big annual event but that too seems very small in comparison to this Keral boat race.
It is usually held on second Saturday of August.
