Travel cologne hack: Visit your local cologne retailer and get a sample of a few types you like. They come in small spray vials you can travel with that last awhile, and it’s usually free.
The unedited one was cool too, nice to see a behind the scenes angle. But thanks for the polished version and all the fantastic content you continue to provide!
Out if all the clothing and accessory items we discuss that all men need, the dopp/ shave kit truly is (imho) something we all need when traveling or even at home. Cheap, expensive, doesn’t matter. I use one at home and one for traveling.
@@paulbetz3325 Thats actually the case for a Remington Lectronic electric shaver. You can see the old Remington logo on it. If you check ebay there are a few available (with the shaver). Not sure why bond has one in Goldfinger since he's wetshaving with a Gillette Slim adjustable razor.
Beautiful, well thought out kit! Just checked out the featured wash bag, but with nearly 500 euros it's a bit out of my spending limit ;-) As a more affordable alternative and still very british: Barbour makes a nice waxed cotton canvas one.
Funny enough, my DOPP Kit is a is a black nylon with red piping kit I got for free years ago with the purchase of 007 cologne. It has a small, subtle leather 007 patch on the front and has been with me through all of my military training, on operations and has held up like a champ! I also have the 007 cologne gym bag that's seen some action as well. It's been my go-to travel bag for years. A DOPP kit is a must-have for any soldier and Intelligence Operator.
Thank you for the video and the history. Although $640 is a bit steep for the average user, it is Bond, so I expected the dopp kit to be high end. We all need a Dopp kit. Thank you.
I kind of liked the unedited version a little better but nice! I've been using a black leather Dopp kit for decades but I didn't know it was called a "Dopp kit". Until now I didn't have a name for it, thanks David, learn something new every day! You use a tongue scraper? Good for you!
Good video and ideas. Reflects my own with different products and it did give me a few new ideas. For a razor I do use a double-edged Gillette travel razor, I don't like the modern multiple razors...just a preference. Many years of traveling mandates keeping the Dopp kit organized so nothing is forgotten. Mine is always ready action at a moment's notice.
Absolutely awesome video. As an airline pilot, my Dopp kit is definitely a manifestation of my Bond inspirations. Been carrying the same one for over 5 years. In fact it is an actual Dopp branded one that I purchased at my hometown military exchange. Noticed you are wearing a different Omega today. What do you think about NTTD reshooting some scenes for product placement .....wouldn’t that really turn off the fans who have already purchased what were supposedly screen accurate items...seems like a cheap money grab after we have already been hit with massive delays!? Regardless, excellent video. Very well done,Dave!
Nice video. I like it. That is a good looking dop kit or toilet bag. Btw, do they still make those dop kits, from the old days, i love the way it opens, no zipper. I would love to get one. ☺️👍
Bravo David for all your videos, always very interesting and pleasant to watch and for the productiveness with which you produce them. You mentioned in a previous video that Daniel Craig was using Aveeno Therapeutic shaving gel. The information coming from "some behind the scene". Do you remenber, does anybody knows exactly witch one?
Better keep an eye on that Dopp-kit so no henchman swaps your atomizer for one that destroys the United Kingdom’s agricultural industry! Calvin wouldn’t appreciate that! 😉 🤪 Thank you. This was both informative and relaxing.
I have a leather wash kit along the lines of the one shown, but rarely use these days....I have evolved into a minimalist approach with just the essentials : Mach 2 razor, travel tooth brush and tooth paste, travel deodorant, a few tooth pics, small container of shower gel, an a sample sized bottle of aftershave. The one thing I always take (a throw back to my days in the army) is a universal sink/bath plug....I haven't needed it in years, but it's always in there as a reminder of ablution blocks and hasty shaves lol.
Nothing beats a double edge safety razor. Multi blade razors are like trying to park a tractor trailer in a shopping cart return. Multi blade razors can’t follow the shape of the face the way a single blade can. The angle on a multi blade razor is set and can’t be changed. Plus, my last blades were $13 for 100 blades.
I absolutely LOVE these lifestyle videos! Really emphasizing the small Bond moments that, at times, we take for granted!

I've always done this and now i have a full ziplock bag of samples 😂 always ready!
Similar to a Shave Kit? That's what we'd call it in the army.
Solid state cologne is the way to go, especially for travel. There's even a Tobacco Vanille-like version.
The unedited one was cool too, nice to see a behind the scenes angle. But thanks for the polished version and all the fantastic content you continue to provide!
with pleasure!
I knew the name Dopp kit, and always wondered where it originated. Interesting history, thanks for the info!
I was going to ask what a Dopp kit is. Very informative, nice video again David.
25:35 now that's passion 😂

Fantastic video. I love the Two Tix grooming kit Bond has in Live and Let Die. I have a similar vintage one.
David, you said the Skyfall kit had Floris soap. Actually it was Eucris shaving soap in a wooden bowl from Geo. F. Trumper.
Aqesome video. Thanks for making this!
I’ve always liked the wooden dopp kit in Goldfinger, when on the plane
Yes, very slick!
I would like to find that box or one like it

The Planet Ocean returns to David's wrist!
Need ! lol

A brilliant and unique video idea David... Keep it going 👊

My 2nd comment: what shirt is that, David? Looks good.
"Living Daylights" polo from N. Peal?
@@kevinjohnson8815 It looks like a polo shirt. I thought N Peal only made knitwear.
@@ivorbacon3825 Yes, !00% cashmere knit polo. Just checked the N. Peal sight.
What’s Italian Nylon? What makes it Italian?
Might I suggest: travel size Vaseline and Band-Aids? Terrific video Daivid (as always).
What do you think about a kent brush for your hair ?

@David you should check out Fusion razors from Mühle. Cheers!

I generally keep a few safety pins in my Dopp kit. They can really come in handy.
Good god David, plastic atomizer for scent?! No. Floris makes the 89 in 30ml bottles. Keep is classy. Great vid as usual.
It's the fate of glass to break....and pressurize. ;)

This makes me miss travelling. Bring on the vaccine so I can hop on a plane!
My Dopp kits are fully stocked and clean

I’m trying to imagine a scenario in which I pay $600 for a Dopp kit.
For shaving before sneaking into a Russian embassy party.
I'm a pharmacist. What do you do? Pharmaceutically?
Floris, Toothbrush, kent combe, soap, PPK.....
truefitt & hill. that's what Bond would use
David's rich right.
Why can't James Bond (Daniel Craig & Pierce Brosnan) use a Benelli M3 Super 90 & other pump/semi-automatic shotguns?
same reason a surgeon doesn't use a meat cleaver. lol
Think about your Dopp kit, pack your Dopp kit, isn't this your gentleman's gentleman''s job?
