Thanks for the info. So my service advanctrac light come on when the weather drops before 40 degrees. Started last winter then I made it to spring and had no issues until this winter when the temperature dropped. But warm days the power steering works with no issues at all. Any advice. I drive a 2011 f150
Did you end up replacing the rack? I feel like it’s coming on mine, service advancetrac light is intermittent and blinkers doing exactly what you said intermittent.
Yes, I ordered the doorman replacement. It comes with a programmer that you use withe OBD2 port. It works great! Total cost with alignment was just about a grand, vs $2400 from dealer. I installed it myself in about 2 hrs.
@@harmonhart6274 2 hours! That gives me hope! 2400 was a little spicy, 1k is more than I want to spend but can definitely budget that. Did you have a lift and was the install hard? I’m pretty mechanical just worry about doing it in the driveway
@@MorningsideMotors yes I had a lift and it really helped. You have to buy 225 bowls that are one time use for that rack mounting and then you can use your tie rod ends and screw them back on the new rack however the new rack is different and so you can't count threads you just got to put them on you measure real close and put them back on and then go get it aligned.

I have a 2017 F150 and I’m on my 3rd rack
I just replaced mine. And its doing it again. The first time the blinkers weren't an issue.
Did you also have trouble with turning like power steering now working?
Sometimes ford is selfishly dumb. Watched some belt replacement videos for the noise thing. It looks doable.
