Great to hear that they're still playing this on the radio. I know I mention 103.7 the river in a lot of my comments, but that's where I first heard pursuit of happiness. I'm from New York and it is always a bummer when I talk to younger Canadian folk and they tell me they've either never heard of these guys or they simply don't care. Music like this makes me wish I was Canadian. I love this band.
One of the catchiest songs I have ever heard. I can't believe too it's been 20yrs since this came out. It's amazing how fast time flies. The Pursuit Of Happiness were truly a part of the soundtrack of my life.
Heard this great song on BBC London 94.9, Danny Baker's show, forgot what a great song it is and how we Brits love Canadians. It's summer in London and Wimbledon's on. It's beautiful and the song matches. Thanks P of H. Paully x
Man! Those girls aren't just "back up singers" they're part of the band. Musicians even. Saw them live in the late 80's. Great band and all around nice people. I had a long chat with the drummer before I even realized who he was. Just regular folks. I miss this band.
these guys and the northern pikes are two of the greatest but sadly forgotten canadian acts..... I get bored with music easily but I still have my original CD copy of this album from the early 90's...solid all the way thru. I think I'll watch beautiful white now....
There were a lot of rock/new wave/punk/post-punk underground stuff that was played in the Philippines (on the very few rock format radio stations, at least). Some of which my friends out here (in America) have never really even heard of.
Yes, it seems like Canadian musical groups somehow don't get the rec they need... But Canadians DO excel in films and TV... But, on the other hand, "the Pursuit of Happiness" were quite popular in the US, too... This song and "I'm an Adult Now" were big hits...
spleeeeeeeen2: "First time I heard that chord I went "wooh, didn't expect that chord!" That, my friend, would be Todd Rundgren's influence. He produced it, and he left his fingerprints all over the first 2 albums.
This song never got a lot of air time or credit from the music industry but I think it's terrific. It's a classic love song but somehow has a uniquely Canadian tint. As for the video, it isn't exactly a prizewinner but it's okay. Please keep it posted!
I thought only my brain thought like this. First time I heard that chord I went "wooh, didn't expect that chord!" And then again at the end, I thought the same thing!
Moe: I hope all is going well and everyone is doing fine. From the guy who used to deliver books to you guys at Cannon Books, until you singed your record deal. Joe
Great song that brings back great memories. BTW, how many versions are there of this song? There seems to be at least one other, although I like this one much better.
Back in the day,it seemed that Moe Berg created a look, that everone seemed to copy, i mean with the long hair and the big glasses, every Music store i would walk into between Halifax and Ottawa, all the guys who worked there, were like clones of him too funny.

Anyone who has heard this song loves it. A timeless classic. Thank you for posting.

The whole disc is fantastic. Love Junk. Especially poignant is Walking in the Woods. Moe Berg, what a writer!

Such a great song! Todd Rundgren's influence is all over this thing...and that's a very good thing!
Great Canadian Band

This is a great song. I am glad I got see them on tour with Duran Duran in 1989 in Los Angeles at the Univeral Amphitheater.
"You've got to find your own space. Have a nice day" - Moe Berg
Love this song, reminds me of Todd Rundgren at his poppiest.
OMG - I remember this song from the first summer I moved to Ontario. Aahh... 1989. God love Moe Berg!
The genius of Moe Berg + the beauty of Leslie Stanwyck - thanks for posting!!!!
So great!! This band was smart & fun. Excellent!
I don't like a lot of Canadian music but this one has always been one of my all-time favorites...even if they are from EDMONTON!!!

a very sunshiney sounding song.
Great song !! Miss this one.
Excellent slice of pop perfection. And, hey, I'm an adult now.
Great song from Moe and the band. I had never heard this before.

A million thanks....my fave TPOH video....finally on RUclips.
Very Todd. Love this band. Brilliant.
This song sounds ahead of its times. Almost mid 90s, instead of late 80s.
i saw them in montreal in 89-what a great show!!!

You can hear the Todd Rundgren in this one, for sure. GREAT song.

This song got airplay (and still gets airplay) on a local station. Sometimes 'CANCON' is a good thing.
