I've decided to return to the channel by creating content around PLC which I've been using at work for the last 5 or so years.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comment section; I'll do my best to respond to every cmment.
    Cheers,
    Vlad

These videos saved my bacon (work project involving a MicroLogix 1100, which I'd never used before). Thanks so much!

Today I found one of these on a forgotten box as part of a what it looks like a fleet management equipment. It looks like an abandoned project. I will gut it for another small project I have. Thanks for the intro my friend. It saved me some research!!

Thank you very much Danny for the kind comment! Is there anything, in particular, you'd like to see me work on? I'm still trying to gauge interest in PLCs as well as some of the other embedded systems.

How does the software send the IP address to the PLC? How exactly does that work?

Can you run RSLogix Micro Starter lite with Micrologix1100? Or will the processor not be compatible?

Hmm. Never used one of these. I'm a dinosaur. I learned ladder logic on the old Allen Bradley slc150. It used a dos based programming interface and didn't have any sort of internet port. I remember a guy from Allen Bradley coming in and showing us the new system 5 rack mount stuff that could even have a web server on it. Oooo.

at around 5:24, when I select Disable Bootp, I checked the PLC, and it flashed a "ip conflict" error on the PLC
and at 7:20, when I go into rs linx classic, it shows the Ethernet connections, but it has a red X even though when I go through the control panel, the computer can the PLC as an Ethernet connection. so I'm wondering if there is something I need to do

I purchased a used micrologix 1100 off ebay, I cannot connect or have the unit do anything. I have had no issues with another 1100 unit. All the screen says is: 1763-LEC. BOOT. FRN: 03.05 ready... Can anyone please help?

I'm wondering what to purchase in order to power this appropriately? I'm only programming it for the sake of learning. I will probably attached a few small motors or something in the end.

Hey Michael, if you purchase a MicroLogix 1100 series, you either power it from 24VDC or 110VAC. If it's 110VAC, you can just run it to an outlet. If it's 24VDC, you'll need to purchase a power supply. You should be able to easily find one on eBay.

@@SolisPLC Thank you! By the way, I've watched several of your videos. They are all very helpful. Thanks for posting.
