This is why I love bluey. It's an actual show. It's not just a dumbed down lesson for kids, it's a real show about real things. I LOVE Army because of Jack. He's such a relatable character, and as someone with austism, I feel very seen. I've always had a lot of insecurities about my issues since I was homeschooled since a young age was never exposed to other people like me. Watch Army always makes me cry not only because of how relatable Jack is, but also because of how accepting Rusty is. Everyone else I've shown this episode to hasn't enjoyed it as much, but personally I consider it the best episode of bluey

I love looking at the Bluey fan groups because people just discuss it like any other show. Sometimes I’ll be thinking super in-depth about something in particular and then I remember, “dang, this show is appropriate for kids”. I often find myself comparing this show to Bojack Horseman. It’s an animated and cartoonish show with plenty of humor, but the episodes are impactful and emotional. The only difference is this: Bojack Horseman is fantastic, but is ABSOLUTELY not appropriate for kids. Bluey, however, is great for all ages, and people can enjoy it for different reasons. Some can like it because of its humor, and some can like it because of its messaging.
I'm so happy that someone else talk about rug island. It's my favorite episode. It feels like Neverland, where no one grows up. In rug island everything is peaceful and easy. But Bandit has to leave because life has so much more to offer. The fact that I complete my time on the rug island feels bitter sweet. It's belong the other kids now, it's their turn. And that's why we always have to remember what a single pen could meant.
Honestly rug island was amazing due to the fact that it shows that everyone wants to stay as kids but we all need to accept we are growing up and enjoy life slowly
In episode double babysitter, Frisky says something like “but you have to give it a go, or else you’ll be stuck in a tower with the dragon” I think this was a reflection for herself in trying out relationships again. “Tomorrow he’ll be in search of another princess”; “There are good princes and bad princes”. I’m sure Bosco cheated on her or something and she became fearful of trying out relationships again but she decided to give it a go, just like how bluey had to give it a go at trusting a new babysitter. So I searched up why people thought Bandit was upset and a lot said it might be over a paper or even a book that he worked really hard on for his job. At first I thought someone may have passed away, but Chili said “just let it go”. I don’t believe she would say something like that if bandit lost someone important. So I agree that something like that happened. He told bingo “when you put something beautiful out in the world it’s no longer yours” but I think he also had to tell that to himself. The stickbird was important to bingo, but it was simply just a stick the the character referred as cookie. I think what happened to bingo also happened to bandit but in his own way. If it was something he worked hard on, it could be that he thought it was special but it meant nothing to others. The reason I brought up double babysitter was because I notice a common theme in Bluey where if a character is feeling upset, usually the episodes hint at what happened to them.
You know those reviews of bad kid's movies that end with "oh, but it's made for kids. It's ok that the characters are flat and boring or the animation is weak or the music is just kinda there. It's JUST FOR KIDS." Bluey spits in the face of that idea. This show may be for kids, but it's so much more than that.
I gotta say after the fantasy horse episode the lines of "I'll always be here, even if you can't see me" And "This is heaven" Hits so much dang harder.
I just want to point out that I adore the comment section of this channel; it’s rare that people will group together and politely share their thoughts and opinions. oof. I remember when my oldest started kindergarten, having the thought "he's not just ours anymore, he belongs to the world now" and realizing from the moment he stepped through the door, my influence in his life was going to shrink and continue shrinking. It was hard, but it is so fun watching him grow up. Bittersweet. He is the sweetest little boy and I am soaking in all the time I have with him and his brother and will do the same with the baby on the way. They're little for so short a time.
When you mention the way Bluey makes others feel seen, I think about how similar Bluey's school is so similar to the one I went to as a kid. That's the first time I've seen something like that from a cartoon, everything I watched growing up that took place in a school would always take place in your typical American school setting, but I didn't go to a typical school so I had a harder time relating. But Bluey's school is pretty much almost entirely accurate to the one I grew up in, right down to the kids attending and having buddies from an older grade, it's super nostalgic for me and makes me feel seen .
That's interesting. What sort of stuff happened in your school? I mean I did watch some Bluey episodes but the trouble si the school ones did not have audio description, so I miss the visual elements.
One of my favourite things about bluey is that sometimes I don’t even know what i’m going to cry at! Sometimes just a certain silence or phrase or realization comes out of no where and hits me. But it does it so well at the end of episodes, just a swell of emotion in the most simple way.
For me, the episode Baby Race is the one that really hits hard and resonates at a deeply personal level. Through High School and University, my parents were constantly comparing me to other people, from my friends to family friends' kids to themselves when they were my age. Eventually I ended up feeling like I'm behind in life. Running my own race, as the episode puts it, is something that I still really struggle with, all the time. I internalized my parents behaviour and often end up comparing myself to other people, even in the most light-hearted activities like games. It isn't easy to overcome, but I'm getting better now that I have a loving, wonderful partner and his wonderful family, in my life, as well as my friends (and new friends I've made through my partner) whom I'm able to actually open up to now
I can relate to Mackenzie. I have childhood trauma and PTSD and currently on medication for stress, anxiety and depression. I can recall alot of times when I was still in school, just wanting to be on my own and read or play puzzles on my own. I used to get mad when my friends wandered off too, but to the point of tears for me. Although I didn't have Calypso to help me, I just kept it bottled up for about 30 years, please don't do that guys! At least I have friends that now know when I go somewhere else to read that isn't because of them, I just need space for a bit.
I still have problems making friends, so being on my own was ok for me. It was being assigned group work that always irritated me, mostly because I wound up doing almost all the work and getting next to no credit.
this show knows how to handle emotion, this is why Army is my favourite episode and why Jack is my 2nd favourite character, I see him in me, because of my autism, I did not fit in well in my old school, being teased, bullied and not helped by all but one teacher, so I moved to a special school, where I met with friends who also has it, and realize that I'm not alone and use the abilities I have to move forward and just enjoy life, so watching army really hit home with me.
I love the episode Born Yesterday but I never see it get talked about, I really like how it’s subtly shows its message but in a way that feels really powerful. The episode all ties back into the theme of how beautiful it is to be alive and living and how so much beauty can be found in the world when we just sit back and look instead of trying to understand it. And the score swelling when Bandit looks at the leaf is so good!!
This is, perhaps, my favorite part of the storytelling of this show. I simply love that the stories they tell and the lessons they teach are so open so that anyone and everyone can learn something from it. In fact, the best part is that even though everyone learns something different, they always learn the most important lesson for themselves at that time. As time has gone on, the different episodes have taken on new meanings and taught me new lessons as I continue to return to them and rewatch them. Well said Pugly.

the episodes that hit me the hardest were when Bluey was moving out of their bedroom and she realized she misses Bingo and the one where they chalk themselves to look like one another and Bandit saying he wishes there were 2 Bingos always. ugh, those stabbed me in the heart and i was heard and seen
I love the episode ‘Space’ because I think it’s relatable to me personally (even though I don’t have ptsd). Mackenzie feels like he has to do something different to help himself, even if it means for him to set apart from the group. He does something to find certainty, even if it means to step into the unknown. He tries to heal his past, through the play of the game. He does this even though others don’t understand why. I kinda get how Mackenzies feels. I relate to him because, he’s doing something odd or different to help himself (I kinda relate to that in a way, because I have a coping mechanism that’s quite odd and different), he does this even though the others don’t understand (relatable, people don’t really understand, some just find it weird), which leads to him feeling kinda sheepish and uneased (which I find relatable for me at times). Space is the best episode imo, it's personally relatable in a way, and is a good episode for edits. It also has the best character Mackenzie!

One of my favorite things about Bluey is the fact that their composer uses classical music in his music. I also absolutely love the fact that the music always fits the scenes perfectly with wonderful music. This show is definitely one of my favorite shows and I love your series on it!
I'm a university student and no joke Bluey has been such a nice thing to watch between studying it's such a relaxing and gorgeous experience. My favourite character has to be Mackenzie because I suffered from extreme anxiety as a young adult even into late teens just like him. It still effects me even today but it's gotten a lot better thanks to my friends and family so Space was such a nostalgic episode. Kinda wish Disney had the entire show available in my country we only have the 3rd season available and I have to use a VPN to watch the rest myself but my little niece can't do that and is stuck watching those abominations on RUclips and even prefers them over something as fun as Bluey....it's really sad
I greatly appreciate them never saying what something is, not because more people resonate with it then, but that shows how they are over there in Australia. They don't give the complications a name, because that gives it power then, separates everyone in a way. Making it just the feeling, the actions, then the episode continues on, that kills the power the complications have. It's awesome. It doesn't matter that someone with autism knows exactly what they have, just that they're given the compassion and patience they need. If it's not something directly harming themselves or others (schizophrenia can hurt themselves, psychopathy can hurt others, etc), it really shouldn't be as big a deal as everyone makes it out to be (in the us anyways)
I love your introductions to your videos! So well edited and nice job on looking into this. The show being left to interpretation gives it more life than it has with its lessons and relatability, and I never considered the little parallel between Bandit & Makenzie between those two episodes. Thank you for explaining space. I've watched that episode with my husband multiple times and I never fully understood it, despite having anxiety/trauma, but I felt VERY connected to the episode for some reason. Bluey is rewatchable because the lessons and feelings you take away from it changes based on each person's perspective and as their lives change. It's something people can watch at different times in their lives and have a different emotion or feeling of understanding than the last.
The very first episode I watched was Rug Island, after the show being suggested by my mother. So you can imagine me watching the episode without know who is who. In fact, I was confused at first since it clearly showed Bandit going to work, so who was this person who washed up on Rug Island? Were the kids playing with a stranger? But then the ending happened and by that point I was intrigued. Hairdressers was okay, but when I watched Sticky Gecko, I was absolutely hooked. And then I started getting obsessed with Australia even to the point of trying and loving Vegemite. The show really has become my comfort zone.
Joe Brum and David Lynch have this in common. They really take the 'death of the author' seriously, and it lends their work a deep maturity in different ways.

I love all the episodes of Bluey, but i personally think the "Dragon" episode is my favourite on the list. I just see myself in all the Heeler's and i just loved that. Being a rookie to a full-time artist is just amazing, especially when you start appreciate your artworks more. The more you practice the more you get better. And also the part of letting go something you really loved hurts the most, but i guess it's just character development- 🤣 Jokes apart, Bluey is the definition of cartoon show: It's for all ages, it's good, it's understandable and relatable. This, is what makes Bluey stand out from any other shows, and I'm all here for it.
As someone who grew up with adhd and never having a lot of friends, jack saying "theres something wrong with me" makes me cry every time. I grew up knowing i was different and doing things i didn't understand to make people laugh because i felt accepted in the laughter. Even if it was at me. I was such a weird kid who loved horses. Jack definitely is my second favorite character. I would also like to add that adhd shows up different in boys and girls. I was blessed to be diagnosed at the age i was. However im an adult now and only just learning to carry stim toys and chewies with me.
Rug Island has been my favorite episode of the entire show pretty much since I first asked myself the question of what my favorite episode was after I began watching. This was mostly due to the emotion presented at the surface level; the combination of the transition from the strings to the piano when Bingo tells Bandit that he's good to go, the way Bluey smiles as Bandit and Bingo are hugging and saying their goodbyes, and the way they wave as Bandit makes his way to Chilli, and everything else about the ending. It's almost crushing with how moving it is. This, alone, was enough to make it my favorite episode. While I was watching this and saw that it was transitioning into a discussion about Rug Island, I really did wonder how it was worth talking about, because to me it seemed pretty basic. This idea, the idea that it's about a grown man losing touch with his limitless childhood imagination and his children working to help him try to keep it alive, and to make him know that it's a part of himself that isn't worth losing, is absolutely incredible. And that is a gigantic understatement. It adds so much depth to the episode, and I can't describe how genius it is. Thank you so much for shedding light on this. This is definitely one of Bluey's magnum opuses, and I feel like it doesn't get enough credit among the other greats. Phenomenal work as always. I never would've imagined Rug Island would have an underlying lesson in the same way something like Space and Sleepytime do. Also, thanks for your continuous promotion of Atlas VPN. I feel like the majority of the Bluey fandom sticks to Reddit, and the mods there are absolutely adamant that nobody pirates anything, and with that for whatever reason means banning anybody from mentioning even legal ways of watching Australia only episodes (VPNs). VPNs are completely legal and I don't think the majority of the world should not have access to Bluey episodes because of a geographical barrier.

I think dragon has to be the episode that resonates with me most. Both as an artist and someone who lost someone incredibly important to them. The journey all the characters take with their art feels so familiar. Feeling like you just can't get it right. But I've never given up. And my Nana was my biggest supporter with my art. She was a wonderful person and it pains me that shes not here anymore. Every single moment of dragon had me on the verge of tears
Very well-made video as always! Anyways, here are three things that I learnt and liked from this video: One. Sometimes, negative emotions (like anxiety, excessive worrying and anger outburst) can keep the main character from others, causing misunderstanding and disagreement. But once they learn that there is no reason to be having these negative emotions, they will finally let them go and move forward. Two. "Why show something, if it's not for a reason". I really like this quote a lot. And three. The episode "Rug Island" is not just an episode but more of a short film. Bandit learning to be a child again made me realized that we all need a place to destress whenever we are feeling stressed and Rug Island is surely a place where we all can escape from reality.
OK Pugly, I will talk about the episodes that I relate or get the most out of. For me the three I can't help but go back too the most are "Camping", "Army" and "Calypso". Too me, these episodes are three pieces of a larger pie that speaks to me as a both a son of a mlitary family and as former member of the Canadian Army. First with "Camping", I have many memories from my youth attending school on a military base. While my family is one of the rare ones that didn't get moved around, many of my friends' families did. Every summer someone would be gone and all you know is that their parent was reassigned to a new base. There was one dear friend I had in kindy, he and I were inseperable from the first day and saturday's regularly involved us at either one of our houses or out in the neighbourhood forest. We did all the wonderful imaginative adventures you could think of, until one day he told me he had to move away. It was sudden and before I knew it the big truck was outfront his house and we had our last hug goodbye. This was in the late 90s so without social media he and I all but disappeared to eachother. Until the junior year of highschool. I was sitting in my first period class on the first day waiting for class to being and thinking on how the year would go. I was awakened from my thoughts by a simple "Hey, Nigel". I turned around to be greeting by the smiling face of my life long best friend whom I hadn't seen nor heard from in 10 years. And then we went on to enjoy our friendship as if it was never inturrupted. Regardless the length of time apart, a true friendship will never succom to defeat simply beause of distance nor time. That's why I openly sniffeled when Jean-Luc gaves us that warm Hello Bluey. They never forgot eachother or their friendship. Next is "Army". It is no secret that Jack is your favourite character, Pugly. So it is fitting that one of his best friends is my favourite character, Rusty. Rusty is rare type of kid of that displays a level of leadership that seems far beyond his years. It's why I cast him as a Star Trek Captain because honestly I can see him inspiring others to greatness. As for the episode itself, I feel it speaks to two major things, one is showing the struggles of people with neuordivergent problems and the reaction others may have to them. What hooked me in this episode is the very first interaction with Jack and Rusty. Calypso's role will be expained in a moment. But when Jack asks to be in Rusty's army and Rusty asks Jack if he can do as he's told, Jack seemingly immediately accepts defeat which causes Rusty to spring into action, barking orders like a seasoned Drill Sergeant and Jack following them expertly. They then have a day full of fun and laughs and end off with a rest in their helicopter. This is when Rusty asks Jack why he came to this school and if something was wrong with his old one. Jack seems frustrated at the fact that he is aware that something is "wrong" with him and goes on to give a list of things he can't do. Rusty gives a simple "Oh.", not sure how exactly to respond but simply says back to him "Well, you're really good at playing army". That one line I feel perfectly encompasses Rusty's ideaology and the ideaology of we whom are like him. It is true that you may have disadvantages and difficulties others don't have. And that can suck. But some people you meet, like say your new best friend in the army, will acknowledge you have these difficulties but be quick to remind you that you are still really good at doing things inspite of these difficulties and you shouldn't feel less capable because of them. Lastly is "Calypso". If Rusty is my favourite of all the characters, Calypso comes in a close second. What I adore about her is her interaction with the crew and the level of mystery around her. I often say that she does have some level of magical ability and I still stand by that. She must be some kind of magic person. Regardless if she does or doesn't her role for the crew cannot be overstated. For many kids, a teacher can be a pseudo-parent. The idea of learning from them and being under their care is one that is critical for kids. It is probably universally thought that Calypso is the perfect teacher and she is well earning of that title. Her title episode shows how she just has the natural affinity to help the kids develop by not giving instruction directly but instead encouraging them to think outside the box or to explore new options. From telling Indy and the kids playing mom that Bluey opened a fish and chip shop, to encouraging Honey to keep expanding her village and of course invoking the Terriers to protect the village with their Tortise Formation. This one episode goes a long way to show how much she cares for the gang and wants to encourage them to do new and great things. Two more episdoes where she has a more minor role but once again shows her affinity for the kids are "Army" and "Space". One could argue that she is the key character in both of these. It was her suggestion to Jack that he should go play with Rusty, possibly believing that Rusty's natural leadership ability would help Jack gain confidence and of course make a new best friend. And in "Space" she appears in Mackenzie's "vision" or "daydream" to reassure him that he doesn't need to comeback to that place because now he has Jack, Rusty, Bluey, her and all his friends and they won't leave him behind. This also is an argument for her being magical. She is in his vision, we never see her outside of the school and I don't think she has ever exchanged a word of diaologue with any of the parents. I'm telling you she is magical and I really hope she plays a small role in Radley and Frisky's wedding. Maybe some words of encouragment to someone involved. But my point is, if Rusty is the kind of leader whom will still include you no matter your difficulties, Calypso is the person that helps advise the leader and the team how best to work together. No less of an important role and one she masters beautifully. Those are my favourties and what I read from them. if you read all that, thank you. I hope you all have a wonderful 2024 and smile brighlty for the wedding of Frisky and Radley. It will be the wedding of the year.

Okay I'm just going to start with; I'm 19 years old and have a lot of issues. Like abandonment issues, trust issues, DID, PTSD, autism, adhd, ECT. And I want to dive deep into the episode Space and why personally I find comfort and feel seen and not alone with this episode. I've been abandoned a lot in my life, by friends mostly... As well as lovers. My first abandonment was at 7 years old from a friend that didn't show any remorse from it. I don't understand why she suddenly hated me. Mackenzie; I see myself in him in this episode. Struggling to cope with these emotions through any other way. I didn't have the option to play to help myself through this stuff. All I could do was suffer silently and struggle to know why they abandoned me, why they decided to leave without saying the reason. I'm still confused, cause I feel like it's something *I* did even though it's probably not. I seriously thank the creator for making this episode.

Every episode you talked about here just made me relive the feeling of having weight on my heart or in other words pulling on my heartstrings when i first watched them. I know some of them I resonated with like Space. I never knew separation anxiety disorder existed, so I thought I was just being a "normal" child in elementary, who just wants their parents to be by there side. I thought I was just being me. Before I almost always think it's my fault and slowly I realized now that somehow they played a part on who I was before...They were there, but didn't fully understand how scared I felt being left by them. I'm still socially awkward today, but I can still go places and interact with people. And also the episode Army. My brother was diagnosed with ADHD and i read that it can be hereditary. I was never tested, so I truly don't know. But one time in elementary, we had a team quiz bee and I was in it and two of my classmate. That time I didn't think that it was all important, so I ignored it and just doodled the entire time. After the competition was over, my two classmates complained to my teacher and I cried that day in an empty classroom. I then thought to myself, "This isn't you. Why are you like this? You were supposed to be a good student. What happened to you? I don't know." After i calmed myself down, I became a more focused student after that... I keep thinking about it now. How did I do it? I think those strong emotions I felt back then like guilt, anger, disappointment, sadness to myself somehow surpressed my ADHD. I don't know if I had just a mild one, but it was just so confusing for me. Also sleepytime is one of the best episodes ever. I almost never cry, but this one made me tear up. And about Rug Island, I never really get the last part. I thought of it literally, like what is that marker? Is it something precious? Gold maybe? But now I realized in this video that it truly was-- everthing... Thanks so much for this video. Really made my day❤

The episode with the grandfather surprisingly resonated with me a lot My mother went to rehab recently for her addictions related to thinks like drugs and cigarettes and this episode, especially the last parts, felt similar to me in the way that I’ve lived a lot of my life trying to help take care of her, even as a child, when in reality I needed her help too We’re on good relations and I’ll be damned if I said I didn’t love her, but this episode it so weirdly related to me in how much I spent trying to take care of her and get her out of her problems even as a kid. She’s a great person, maybe not the best mom but I love her anyways because I know she tried her best with the life she had lived”

For me personally, I actually took the episode where bluey and bingo “evolve” can also be a metaphor for God. Because when bluey says “what do I do now?” And her parents invite her to sit on the swing and watch bingo, I take it as a metaphor for dying and going to be with your creator. Whether you take it as living in heaven with your own family, or the way I take it, which is living in heaven with God, it’s a really meaningful episode that speaks to a lot of people. (Quick side note: I want to credit theodd1sout, because he kickstarted my theory)
in stickbird it wasnt important as to why bandiit was sad what was important was just the fact that he was just sad and needed comfort or closure. it kind of reminded of fruits basket when akito came to the school and yuki had to revisit his trauma that was caused by akito only to have tohru stand up for him and push akito out of the way. she didnt know why or how yuki was traumatized by akito and states that it wasnt important for her to know why and what was more important was that she was there for him when he needed her to be.

I never watched Bluey episodes in full myself, but I worked out something from the observations and episode details that underlines the actual reason for its success: that Bluey's Creator had a very different order of the episodes in mind from how they were aired. He had a very close eye for how the characters would move from one situation to the next, but only once was this directly indicated in the series, as far as I'm aware of anyway: that being in "Army" from Season 2, where a visual reference to "The Adventure" from Season 1 is shown. Indeed, I worked out what I think was the true intended order of the Bluey episodes, from examining the summaries closely, although I didn't initially make the connection Season 3 was supposed to be its own order, as reflected by the design changes made to indicate a passage of time. This does not however change, more than it twists the message of vagueness, because you might not necessarily know what the result is of what you're writing/acting for until the effect hits you, and even then you only see that outcome. Now I learnt both these things because they underlie the qualities of the classic seasons of "Thomas & Friends", and I compared this to a number of other kids' shows, where the messages are deeper than they're made out to be by the majority. All without me knowing Bluey even existed until last summer. Back last September, I submitted ideas to Ludo Studio about where I saw Season 4 as going next, explaining myself in order to convince them I wasn't a side-talker, after the first try. One of the ideas was the decision to bequeath a character I kept personal for ages; a literal underdog who defies his odds largely unnoticed, which very much reflects myself. Regards, Samuel Farris.

I have adhd and asd, before watching the army episode i hated my adhd and asd, but when i saw that episode for the first time i learned that just because having adhd and asd doesen´t means that i can´t do things that requires paying attention, that´s why Jack is my favorite character
Great intro song choice, as always. Bluey’s Going to Melbourne! (Patiently waiting for 2085 though.) I like vague messaging. We don’t need everything spelled out for us. When that happens, I think we lose out on our own creative and critical thinking skills. We wouldn’t have videos like yours with deep analysis if the original message is so so so so obvious. I think that’s why Bluey is so popular, it actively encourages this creativity!

If there is one thing I've noticed is that Bluey has resonated far more with adults than with kids. Yes, kids LOVE and watch Bluey, but it feels like the ones starting the conversation about the show itself are adults, and how it has become a inner child healing comfort show. If you think about it, Bluey came out at almost the perfect time; the world had been severely affected by wars, matches against social injustice, a deadly pandemic that affected everyone, the economic impact that left behind...for many adults it felt like the world had changed drastically and it wanted us to change alongside it but we were not quite ready yet. Bluey to me has become so comforting at this moment in time because it both reminds us that even in darkness the world is still beautiful and should be cherish, but also reminds us that even if we don't want to face them we will still have to endure hard trials and tribulations. It just felt like the right message to send to the world after everyone felt like it was "destroyed". It's both an escape and an assurance. For me, the episode that resonates with me is 'Grandad'. I lost my father to COVID almost three years ago, and during that time the only companion I had close to me was my mom. And to this day we are each other's company and support because most of our family are either far away or became disconnected. So when Chilly says that she is wants her father to be well because she still needs him, I got it. I was hit by it because I know as an adult my mother will pass on eventually, but deep down I still need her. I feel that's almost an universal feeling many of us adult children both relate and fear because even if we have expanded families of our own, we still want to have our parents with us in the best and worst of times. I think that's why Bluey has resonated so much with people; it speak simple truths in a manner that's gentle. It not dumbed down for the sake of the kids nor is it so cynical and dark because that's how shows with serious subject matters "should be".
I still find it weird that joe said there is no real answer to why bandit is sad and it's up to us what we think why he's sad and the fact they comfirmed the miscarriage theory to be correct what? a week later? makes me feel something is odd about that which made me think of my own little theory of maybe it was the anniversary of the miscarriage,which could explain why chili wasn't able to relax in relax and why bandit is sad the next episode,both parents can't be sad at the same time due to it making bluey and bingo worry on holiday,it is strange the chili says to forget about it,but I think she really means ease up on being depressed so you don't make the kids worry,it makes sense,wouldn't you be angry and depressed that there was nothing you could do about it? and it nags you every anniversary? it would shred anyone's emotions that's been through that,even when bandit tells bingo it's nothing feels so off putting,if it's nothing (like if it's work related or something) then why not just tell her huh? that's why I don't belive that it has to do with work theory,if it was truely no big deal he would've just told her the truth right from the start,it has to do with something very big
I mentioned this in a comment attached to one of Pugly's earlier videos, but I'll elaborate it here anyway. I deduced by the clues present in said episode that "Army" was not originally conceived as being focused on newcomer Jack's end of the situation, but Rusty's. The Title gives an obvious yet indirect indication of this, but you can watch the episode yourselves to figure the rest. What would this have meant then for Jack's situation had the original plan been followed through. Was it Joe Brumm's intention to leave Jack's circumstance a vague yet constant, or was their something else he had in mind? My determination was that there was meant to be a bridging episode revolving around Jack that would have provided a subtle yet direct link with the following Season 2 episode "Grandad", and if you see Jack's arc in "Army", you might be able to guess what Joe Brumm had intended to accomplish. Lack of time to develop the newly-introduced character's scenario would have meant "Army"s plot had to be adjusted, and another episode was written to replace the cancelled one. Perhaps it was "Squash" that was the replacement episode, given what happens in it and the economic method of using its characters... hmm... Regards, Samuel Farris.
I wish more kid shows these days experimented with ambiguity. Not only does it allow kids to ask questions about what is happening and how it could relate to them, it means even adults could look at the world in a way they never thought of before. Rug Island reminds me of improv club. Getting Mt Dew by milking a mountain, or pitching a chalk drawing to Shark Tank are not realistic scenarios, but they don't have to be. It's all about the imagination. It takes some time to get used to, especially coming from theater where you have a script, but it's a great break from adult life.

The concept of vagueness is why I find the episode Onesies disappointing; the message of infertility isn’t subtext-we’re actively told what is happening when it should be left to the music and the animation to tell the story. If you compare it to The Show, that episode has a blink-and-you-miss-it reference to miscarriage, and without it, the scene still functions as Bingo learning how to persevere through mistakes. Onesies offers nothing without it’s obvious theme-there’s an entire scene where the audience is told in no uncertain terms what we are seeing means, when that should be shown to us without the dialogue

This is why I love bluey. It's an actual show. It's not just a dumbed down lesson for kids, it's a real show about real things. I LOVE Army because of Jack. He's such a relatable character, and as someone with austism, I feel very seen. I've always had a lot of insecurities about my issues since I was homeschooled since a young age was never exposed to other people like me. Watch Army always makes me cry not only because of how relatable Jack is, but also because of how accepting Rusty is. Everyone else I've shown this episode to hasn't enjoyed it as much, but personally I consider it the best episode of bluey

I love looking at the Bluey fan groups because people just discuss it like any other show. Sometimes I’ll be thinking super in-depth about something in particular and then I remember, “dang, this show is appropriate for kids”. I often find myself comparing this show to Bojack Horseman. It’s an animated and cartoonish show with plenty of humor, but the episodes are impactful and emotional. The only difference is this: Bojack Horseman is fantastic, but is ABSOLUTELY not appropriate for kids. Bluey, however, is great for all ages, and people can enjoy it for different reasons. Some can like it because of its humor, and some can like it because of its messaging.

Jack is also relatable as I sometimes forget stuff very quickly and don’t like staying still, and we both have adhd.

I'm so happy that someone else talk about rug island. It's my favorite episode. It feels like Neverland, where no one grows up. In rug island everything is peaceful and easy. But Bandit has to leave because life has so much more to offer. The fact that I complete my time on the rug island feels bitter sweet. It's belong the other kids now, it's their turn. And that's why we always have to remember what a single pen could meant.
Rug island definitely deserves more recognition. The theme of Neverland fitts perfectly in the show. Also, Bluey is so in character as Peter Pan.

In episode double babysitter, Frisky says something like “but you have to give it a go, or else you’ll be stuck in a tower with the dragon” I think this was a reflection for herself in trying out relationships again. “Tomorrow he’ll be in search of another princess”; “There are good princes and bad princes”. I’m sure Bosco cheated on her or something and she became fearful of trying out relationships again but she decided to give it a go, just like how bluey had to give it a go at trusting a new babysitter.
So I searched up why people thought Bandit was upset and a lot said it might be over a paper or even a book that he worked really hard on for his job. At first I thought someone may have passed away, but Chili said “just let it go”. I don’t believe she would say something like that if bandit lost someone important. So I agree that something like that happened. He told bingo “when you put something beautiful out in the world it’s no longer yours” but I think he also had to tell that to himself. The stickbird was important to bingo, but it was simply just a stick the the character referred as cookie. I think what happened to bingo also happened to bandit but in his own way. If it was something he worked hard on, it could be that he thought it was special but it meant nothing to others.
The reason I brought up double babysitter was because I notice a common theme in Bluey where if a character is feeling upset, usually the episodes hint at what happened to them.
You know those reviews of bad kid's movies that end with "oh, but it's made for kids. It's ok that the characters are flat and boring or the animation is weak or the music is just kinda there. It's JUST FOR KIDS." Bluey spits in the face of that idea. This show may be for kids, but it's so much more than that.
I gotta say after the fantasy horse episode the lines of "I'll always be here, even if you can't see me" And "This is heaven" Hits so much dang harder.
I just want to point out that I adore the comment section of this channel; it’s rare that people will group together and politely share their thoughts and opinions. Part of the fun with watching these videos is seeing what everybody else thinks, and then adding onto those thoughts.

oof. I remember when my oldest started kindergarten, having the thought "he's not just ours anymore, he belongs to the world now" and realizing from the moment he stepped through the door, my influence in his life was going to shrink and continue shrinking. It was hard, but it is so fun watching him grow up. Bittersweet. He is the sweetest little boy and I am soaking in all the time I have with him and his brother and will do the same with the baby on the way. They're little for so short a time.
When you mention the way Bluey makes others feel seen, I think about how similar Bluey's school is so similar to the one I went to as a kid. That's the first time I've seen something like that from a cartoon, everything I watched growing up that took place in a school would always take place in your typical American school setting, but I didn't go to a typical school so I had a harder time relating. But Bluey's school is pretty much almost entirely accurate to the one I grew up in, right down to the kids attending and having buddies from an older grade, it's super nostalgic for me and makes me feel seen .
That's interesting. What sort of stuff happened in your school? I mean I did watch some Bluey episodes but the trouble si the school ones did not have audio description, so I miss the visual elements.

I think a lot of why I like Bluey, is it's the parenting I WISHED I had [Without being all care bears unrealistic about it]
One of my favourite things about bluey is that sometimes I don’t even know what i’m going to cry at! Sometimes just a certain silence or phrase or realization comes out of no where and hits me. But it does it so well at the end of episodes, just a swell of emotion in the most simple way.
For me, the episode Baby Race is the one that really hits hard and resonates at a deeply personal level. Through High School and University, my parents were constantly comparing me to other people, from my friends to family friends' kids to themselves when they were my age. Eventually I ended up feeling like I'm behind in life. Running my own race, as the episode puts it, is something that I still really struggle with, all the time. I internalized my parents behaviour and often end up comparing myself to other people, even in the most light-hearted activities like games. It isn't easy to overcome, but I'm getting better now that I have a loving, wonderful partner and his wonderful family, in my life, as well as my friends (and new friends I've made through my partner) whom I'm able to actually open up to now
I can relate to Mackenzie. I have childhood trauma and PTSD and currently on medication for stress, anxiety and depression. I can recall alot of times when I was still in school, just wanting to be on my own and read or play puzzles on my own. I used to get mad when my friends wandered off too, but to the point of tears for me. Although I didn't have Calypso to help me, I just kept it bottled up for about 30 years, please don't do that guys! At least I have friends that now know when I go somewhere else to read that isn't because of them, I just need space for a bit.
I still have problems making friends, so being on my own was ok for me. It was being assigned group work that always irritated me, mostly because I wound up doing almost all the work and getting next to no credit.

this show knows how to handle emotion, this is why Army is my favourite episode and why Jack is my 2nd favourite character, I see him in me, because of my autism, I did not fit in well in my old school, being teased, bullied and not helped by all but one teacher, so I moved to a special school, where I met with friends who also has it, and realize that I'm not alone and use the abilities I have to move forward and just enjoy life, so watching army really hit home with me.
I love the episode Born Yesterday but I never see it get talked about, I really like how it’s subtly shows its message but in a way that feels really powerful. The episode all ties back into the theme of how beautiful it is to be alive and living and how so much beauty can be found in the world when we just sit back and look instead of trying to understand it. And the score swelling when Bandit looks at the leaf is so good!!
This is, perhaps, my favorite part of the storytelling of this show. I simply love that the stories they tell and the lessons they teach are so open so that anyone and everyone can learn something from it. In fact, the best part is that even though everyone learns something different, they always learn the most important lesson for themselves at that time.
As time has gone on, the different episodes have taken on new meanings and taught me new lessons as I continue to return to them and rewatch them. Well said Pugly.

the episodes that hit me the hardest were when Bluey was moving out of their bedroom and she realized she misses Bingo and the one where they chalk themselves to look like one another and Bandit saying he wishes there were 2 Bingos always. ugh, those stabbed me in the heart and i was heard and seen
I love the episode ‘Space’ because I think it’s relatable to me personally (even though I don’t have ptsd). Mackenzie feels like he has to do something different to help himself, even if it means for him to set apart from the group. He does something to find certainty, even if it means to step into the unknown. He tries to heal his past, through the play of the game. He does this even though others don’t understand why. I kinda get how Mackenzies feels. I relate to him because, he’s doing something odd or different to help himself (I kinda relate to that in a way, because I have a coping mechanism that’s quite odd and different), he does this even though the others don’t understand (relatable, people don’t really understand, some just find it weird), which leads to him feeling kinda sheepish and uneased (which I find relatable for me at times). Space is the best episode imo, it's personally relatable in a way, and is a good episode for edits. It also has the best character Mackenzie!

One of my favorite things about Bluey is the fact that their composer uses classical music in his music. I also absolutely love the fact that the music always fits the scenes perfectly with wonderful music. This show is definitely one of my favorite shows and I love your series on it!
I'm a university student and no joke Bluey has been such a nice thing to watch between studying it's such a relaxing and gorgeous experience.
My favourite character has to be Mackenzie because I suffered from extreme anxiety as a young adult even into late teens just like him. It still effects me even today but it's gotten a lot better thanks to my friends and family so Space was such a nostalgic episode.
Kinda wish Disney had the entire show available in my country we only have the 3rd season available and I have to use a VPN to watch the rest myself but my little niece can't do that and is stuck watching those abominations on RUclips and even prefers them over something as fun as Bluey....it's really sad
I greatly appreciate them never saying what something is, not because more people resonate with it then, but that shows how they are over there in Australia. They don't give the complications a name, because that gives it power then, separates everyone in a way. Making it just the feeling, the actions, then the episode continues on, that kills the power the complications have. It's awesome. It doesn't matter that someone with autism knows exactly what they have, just that they're given the compassion and patience they need. If it's not something directly harming themselves or others (schizophrenia can hurt themselves, psychopathy can hurt others, etc), it really shouldn't be as big a deal as everyone makes it out to be (in the us anyways)

The show being left to interpretation gives it more life than it has with its lessons and relatability, and I never considered the little parallel between Bandit & Makenzie between those two episodes. Thank you for explaining space. I've watched that episode with my husband multiple times and I never fully understood it, despite having anxiety/trauma, but I felt VERY connected to the episode for some reason. Bluey is rewatchable because the lessons and feelings you take away from it changes based on each person's perspective and as their lives change. It's something people can watch at different times in their lives and have a different emotion or feeling of understanding than the last.
The very first episode I watched was Rug Island, after the show being suggested by my mother. So you can imagine me watching the episode without know who is who. In fact, I was confused at first since it clearly showed Bandit going to work, so who was this person who washed up on Rug Island? Were the kids playing with a stranger? But then the ending happened and by that point I was intrigued. Hairdressers was okay, but when I watched Sticky Gecko, I was absolutely hooked. And then I started getting obsessed with Australia even to the point of trying and loving Vegemite. The show really has become my comfort zone.
Joe Brum and David Lynch have this in common. They really take the 'death of the author' seriously, and it lends their work a deep maturity in different ways.
Steve’s going to London is perfect for this!! The “goofy song” with a serious message complements Bluey so well.

This, is what makes Bluey stand out from any other shows, and I'm all here for it.
As someone who grew up with adhd and never having a lot of friends, jack saying "theres something wrong with me" makes me cry every time. I grew up knowing i was different and doing things i didn't understand to make people laugh because i felt accepted in the laughter. Even if it was at me. I was such a weird kid who loved horses. Jack definitely is my second favorite character.
I would also like to add that adhd shows up different in boys and girls. I was blessed to be diagnosed at the age i was. However im an adult now and only just learning to carry stim toys and chewies with me.
Rug Island has been my favorite episode of the entire show pretty much since I first asked myself the question of what my favorite episode was after I began watching. This was mostly due to the emotion presented at the surface level; the combination of the transition from the strings to the piano when Bingo tells Bandit that he's good to go, the way Bluey smiles as Bandit and Bingo are hugging and saying their goodbyes, and the way they wave as Bandit makes his way to Chilli, and everything else about the ending. It's almost crushing with how moving it is. This, alone, was enough to make it my favorite episode. While I was watching this and saw that it was transitioning into a discussion about Rug Island, I really did wonder how it was worth talking about, because to me it seemed pretty basic. This idea, the idea that it's about a grown man losing touch with his limitless childhood imagination and his children working to help him try to keep it alive, and to make him know that it's a part of himself that isn't worth losing, is absolutely incredible. And that is a gigantic understatement. It adds so much depth to the episode, and I can't describe how genius it is. Thank you so much for shedding light on this. This is definitely one of Bluey's magnum opuses, and I feel like it doesn't get enough credit among the other greats.
Phenomenal work as always. I never would've imagined Rug Island would have an underlying lesson in the same way something like Space and Sleepytime do. Also, thanks for your continuous promotion of Atlas VPN. I feel like the majority of the Bluey fandom sticks to Reddit, and the mods there are absolutely adamant that nobody pirates anything, and with that for whatever reason means banning anybody from mentioning even legal ways of watching Australia only episodes (VPNs). VPNs are completely legal and I don't think the majority of the world should not have access to Bluey episodes because of a geographical barrier.

I think dragon has to be the episode that resonates with me most. Both as an artist and someone who lost someone incredibly important to them. The journey all the characters take with their art feels so familiar. Feeling like you just can't get it right. But I've never given up. And my Nana was my biggest supporter with my art. She was a wonderful person and it pains me that shes not here anymore. Every single moment of dragon had me on the verge of tears

One. Sometimes, negative emotions (like anxiety, excessive worrying and anger outburst) can keep the main character from others, causing misunderstanding and disagreement. But once they learn that there is no reason to be having these negative emotions, they will finally let them go and move forward.
Two. "Why show something, if it's not for a reason". I really like this quote a lot.
And three. The episode "Rug Island" is not just an episode but more of a short film. Bandit learning to be a child again made me realized that we all need a place to destress whenever we are feeling stressed and Rug Island is surely a place where we all can escape from reality.
OK Pugly, I will talk about the episodes that I relate or get the most out of. For me the three I can't help but go back too the most are "Camping", "Army" and "Calypso". Too me, these episodes are three pieces of a larger pie that speaks to me as a both a son of a mlitary family and as former member of the Canadian Army. First with "Camping", I have many memories from my youth attending school on a military base. While my family is one of the rare ones that didn't get moved around, many of my friends' families did. Every summer someone would be gone and all you know is that their parent was reassigned to a new base. There was one dear friend I had in kindy, he and I were inseperable from the first day and saturday's regularly involved us at either one of our houses or out in the neighbourhood forest. We did all the wonderful imaginative adventures you could think of, until one day he told me he had to move away. It was sudden and before I knew it the big truck was outfront his house and we had our last hug goodbye. This was in the late 90s so without social media he and I all but disappeared to eachother. Until the junior year of highschool. I was sitting in my first period class on the first day waiting for class to being and thinking on how the year would go. I was awakened from my thoughts by a simple "Hey, Nigel". I turned around to be greeting by the smiling face of my life long best friend whom I hadn't seen nor heard from in 10 years. And then we went on to enjoy our friendship as if it was never inturrupted. Regardless the length of time apart, a true friendship will never succom to defeat simply beause of distance nor time. That's why I openly sniffeled when Jean-Luc gaves us that warm Hello Bluey. They never forgot eachother or their friendship.
Next is "Army". It is no secret that Jack is your favourite character, Pugly. So it is fitting that one of his best friends is my favourite character, Rusty. Rusty is rare type of kid of that displays a level of leadership that seems far beyond his years. It's why I cast him as a Star Trek Captain because honestly I can see him inspiring others to greatness. As for the episode itself, I feel it speaks to two major things, one is showing the struggles of people with neuordivergent problems and the reaction others may have to them. What hooked me in this episode is the very first interaction with Jack and Rusty. Calypso's role will be expained in a moment. But when Jack asks to be in Rusty's army and Rusty asks Jack if he can do as he's told, Jack seemingly immediately accepts defeat which causes Rusty to spring into action, barking orders like a seasoned Drill Sergeant and Jack following them expertly. They then have a day full of fun and laughs and end off with a rest in their helicopter. This is when Rusty asks Jack why he came to this school and if something was wrong with his old one. Jack seems frustrated at the fact that he is aware that something is "wrong" with him and goes on to give a list of things he can't do. Rusty gives a simple "Oh.", not sure how exactly to respond but simply says back to him "Well, you're really good at playing army". That one line I feel perfectly encompasses Rusty's ideaology and the ideaology of we whom are like him. It is true that you may have disadvantages and difficulties others don't have. And that can suck. But some people you meet, like say your new best friend in the army, will acknowledge you have these difficulties but be quick to remind you that you are still really good at doing things inspite of these difficulties and you shouldn't feel less capable because of them.
Lastly is "Calypso". If Rusty is my favourite of all the characters, Calypso comes in a close second. What I adore about her is her interaction with the crew and the level of mystery around her. I often say that she does have some level of magical ability and I still stand by that. She must be some kind of magic person. Regardless if she does or doesn't her role for the crew cannot be overstated. For many kids, a teacher can be a pseudo-parent. The idea of learning from them and being under their care is one that is critical for kids. It is probably universally thought that Calypso is the perfect teacher and she is well earning of that title. Her title episode shows how she just has the natural affinity to help the kids develop by not giving instruction directly but instead encouraging them to think outside the box or to explore new options. From telling Indy and the kids playing mom that Bluey opened a fish and chip shop, to encouraging Honey to keep expanding her village and of course invoking the Terriers to protect the village with their Tortise Formation. This one episode goes a long way to show how much she cares for the gang and wants to encourage them to do new and great things. Two more episdoes where she has a more minor role but once again shows her affinity for the kids are "Army" and "Space". One could argue that she is the key character in both of these. It was her suggestion to Jack that he should go play with Rusty, possibly believing that Rusty's natural leadership ability would help Jack gain confidence and of course make a new best friend. And in "Space" she appears in Mackenzie's "vision" or "daydream" to reassure him that he doesn't need to comeback to that place because now he has Jack, Rusty, Bluey, her and all his friends and they won't leave him behind. This also is an argument for her being magical. She is in his vision, we never see her outside of the school and I don't think she has ever exchanged a word of diaologue with any of the parents. I'm telling you she is magical and I really hope she plays a small role in Radley and Frisky's wedding. Maybe some words of encouragment to someone involved. But my point is, if Rusty is the kind of leader whom will still include you no matter your difficulties, Calypso is the person that helps advise the leader and the team how best to work together. No less of an important role and one she masters beautifully.
Those are my favourties and what I read from them. if you read all that, thank you. I hope you all have a wonderful 2024 and smile brighlty for the wedding of Frisky and Radley. It will be the wedding of the year.

Okay I'm just going to start with;
I'm 19 years old and have a lot of issues. Like abandonment issues, trust issues, DID, PTSD, autism, adhd, ECT. And I want to dive deep into the episode Space and why personally I find comfort and feel seen and not alone with this episode.
I've been abandoned a lot in my life, by friends mostly... As well as lovers. My first abandonment was at 7 years old from a friend that didn't show any remorse from it. I don't understand why she suddenly hated me.
Mackenzie; I see myself in him in this episode. Struggling to cope with these emotions through any other way. I didn't have the option to play to help myself through this stuff. All I could do was suffer silently and struggle to know why they abandoned me, why they decided to leave without saying the reason. I'm still confused, cause I feel like it's something *I* did even though it's probably not.
I seriously thank the creator for making this episode.
One of those "Vague" eps to me [that makes me 'feel seen] is "Horsey ride" I like to think of it as being about Marriage equality/Gay Marriage

Every episode you talked about here just made me relive the feeling of having weight on my heart or in other words pulling on my heartstrings when i first watched them. I know some of them I resonated with like Space. I never knew separation anxiety disorder existed, so I thought I was just being a "normal" child in elementary, who just wants their parents to be by there side. I thought I was just being me. Before I almost always think it's my fault and slowly I realized now that somehow they played a part on who I was before...They were there, but didn't fully understand how scared I felt being left by them. I'm still socially awkward today, but I can still go places and interact with people.
And also the episode Army. My brother was diagnosed with ADHD and i read that it can be hereditary. I was never tested, so I truly don't know. But one time in elementary, we had a team quiz bee and I was in it and two of my classmate. That time I didn't think that it was all important, so I ignored it and just doodled the entire time. After the competition was over, my two classmates complained to my teacher and I cried that day in an empty classroom. I then thought to myself, "This isn't you. Why are you like this? You were supposed to be a good student. What happened to you? I don't know." After i calmed myself down, I became a more focused student after that... I keep thinking about it now. How did I do it? I think those strong emotions I felt back then like guilt, anger, disappointment, sadness to myself somehow surpressed my ADHD. I don't know if I had just a mild one, but it was just so confusing for me.
Also sleepytime is one of the best episodes ever. I almost never cry, but this one made me tear up. And about Rug Island, I never really get the last part. I thought of it literally, like what is that marker? Is it something precious? Gold maybe? But now I realized in this video that it truly was-- everthing...

Beautiful summary of the great techniques used to help viewers connect with their feelings and past experiences! I love how much this show respects its audience. I also love the way you structure your intros to kind of lead us into figuring out the lesson similar to how bluey episodes let us pick up the lesson.
As someone with some serious abandonment issues due to parents not being there when I expected or needed them to be, Space really hit home for me.
Also I love how baby Mackenzie’s voice is so obviously pitch shifted up, it’s very unintentionally hilarious once you notice it.

My mother went to rehab recently for her addictions related to thinks like drugs and cigarettes and this episode, especially the last parts, felt similar to me in the way that I’ve lived a lot of my life trying to help take care of her, even as a child, when in reality I needed her help too
We’re on good relations and I’ll be damned if I said I didn’t love her, but this episode it so weirdly related to me in how much I spent trying to take care of her and get her out of her problems even as a kid. She’s a great person, maybe not the best mom but I love her anyways because I know she tried her best with the life she had lived”

For me personally, I actually took the episode where bluey and bingo “evolve” can also be a metaphor for God.
Because when bluey says “what do I do now?” And her parents invite her to sit on the swing and watch bingo, I take it as a metaphor for dying and going to be with your creator.
Whether you take it as living in heaven with your own family, or the way I take it, which is living in heaven with God,
it’s a really meaningful episode that speaks to a lot of people.

in stickbird it wasnt important as to why bandiit was sad what was important was just the fact that he was just sad and needed comfort or closure. it kind of reminded of fruits basket when akito came to the school and yuki had to revisit his trauma that was caused by akito only to have tohru stand up for him and push akito out of the way. she didnt know why or how yuki was traumatized by akito and states that it wasnt important for her to know why and what was more important was that she was there for him when he needed her to be.

I never watched Bluey episodes in full myself, but I worked out something from the observations and episode details that underlines the actual reason for its success: that Bluey's Creator had a very different order of the episodes in mind from how they were aired. He had a very close eye for how the characters would move from one situation to the next, but only once was this directly indicated in the series, as far as I'm aware of anyway: that being in "Army" from Season 2, where a visual reference to "The Adventure" from Season 1 is shown. Indeed, I worked out what I think was the true intended order of the Bluey episodes, from examining the summaries closely, although I didn't initially make the connection Season 3 was supposed to be its own order, as reflected by the design changes made to indicate a passage of time.
This does not however change, more than it twists the message of vagueness, because you might not necessarily know what the result is of what you're writing/acting for until the effect hits you, and even then you only see that outcome. Now I learnt both these things because they underlie the qualities of the classic seasons of "Thomas & Friends", and I compared this to a number of other kids' shows, where the messages are deeper than they're made out to be by the majority. All without me knowing Bluey even existed until last summer.
Back last September, I submitted ideas to Ludo Studio about where I saw Season 4 as going next, explaining myself in order to convince them I wasn't a side-talker, after the first try. One of the ideas was the decision to bequeath a character I kept personal for ages; a literal underdog who defies his odds largely unnoticed, which very much reflects myself. Regards, Samuel Farris.

I have adhd and asd, before watching the army episode i hated my adhd and asd, but when i saw that episode for the first time i learned that just because having adhd and asd doesen´t means that i can´t do things that requires paying attention, that´s why Jack is my favorite character

I like vague messaging. We don’t need everything spelled out for us. When that happens, I think we lose out on our own creative and critical thinking skills. We wouldn’t have videos like yours with deep analysis if the original message is so so so so obvious. I think that’s why Bluey is so popular, it actively encourages this creativity!

If there is one thing I've noticed is that Bluey has resonated far more with adults than with kids. Yes, kids LOVE and watch Bluey, but it feels like the ones starting the conversation about the show itself are adults, and how it has become a inner child healing comfort show. If you think about it, Bluey came out at almost the perfect time; the world had been severely affected by wars, matches against social injustice, a deadly pandemic that affected everyone, the economic impact that left behind...for many adults it felt like the world had changed drastically and it wanted us to change alongside it but we were not quite ready yet.
Bluey to me has become so comforting at this moment in time because it both reminds us that even in darkness the world is still beautiful and should be cherish, but also reminds us that even if we don't want to face them we will still have to endure hard trials and tribulations. It just felt like the right message to send to the world after everyone felt like it was "destroyed". It's both an escape and an assurance.
For me, the episode that resonates with me is 'Grandad'. I lost my father to COVID almost three years ago, and during that time the only companion I had close to me was my mom. And to this day we are each other's company and support because most of our family are either far away or became disconnected. So when Chilly says that she is wants her father to be well because she still needs him, I got it. I was hit by it because I know as an adult my mother will pass on eventually, but deep down I still need her. I feel that's almost an universal feeling many of us adult children both relate and fear because even if we have expanded families of our own, we still want to have our parents with us in the best and worst of times.
I think that's why Bluey has resonated so much with people; it speak simple truths in a manner that's gentle. It not dumbed down for the sake of the kids nor is it so cynical and dark because that's how shows with serious subject matters "should be".

I still find it weird that joe said there is no real answer to why bandit is sad and it's up to us what we think why he's sad and the fact they comfirmed the miscarriage theory to be correct what? a week later? makes me feel something is odd about that which made me think of my own little theory of maybe it was the anniversary of the miscarriage,which could explain why chili wasn't able to relax in relax and why bandit is sad the next episode,both parents can't be sad at the same time due to it making bluey and bingo worry on holiday,it is strange the chili says to forget about it,but I think she really means ease up on being depressed so you don't make the kids worry,it makes sense,wouldn't you be angry and depressed that there was nothing you could do about it? and it nags you every anniversary? it would shred anyone's emotions that's been through that,even when bandit tells bingo it's nothing feels so off putting,if it's nothing (like if it's work related or something) then why not just tell her huh? that's why I don't belive that it has to do with work theory,if it was truely no big deal he would've just told her the truth right from the start,it has to do with something very big
I mentioned this in a comment attached to one of Pugly's earlier videos, but I'll elaborate it here anyway. I deduced by the clues present in said episode that "Army" was not originally conceived as being focused on newcomer Jack's end of the situation, but Rusty's. The Title gives an obvious yet indirect indication of this, but you can watch the episode yourselves to figure the rest.
What would this have meant then for Jack's situation had the original plan been followed through. Was it Joe Brumm's intention to leave Jack's circumstance a vague yet constant, or was their something else he had in mind? My determination was that there was meant to be a bridging episode revolving around Jack that would have provided a subtle yet direct link with the following Season 2 episode "Grandad", and if you see Jack's arc in "Army", you might be able to guess what Joe Brumm had intended to accomplish. Lack of time to develop the newly-introduced character's scenario would have meant "Army"s plot had to be adjusted, and another episode was written to replace the cancelled one. Perhaps it was "Squash" that was the replacement episode, given what happens in it and the economic method of using its characters... hmm...

I wish more kid shows these days experimented with ambiguity. Not only does it allow kids to ask questions about what is happening and how it could relate to them, it means even adults could look at the world in a way they never thought of before. It's this along with many other reasons why Bluey will go down as one of the best TV shows currently out right now.

Rug Island reminds me of improv club. Getting Mt Dew by milking a mountain, or pitching a chalk drawing to Shark Tank are not realistic scenarios, but they don't have to be. It's all about the imagination. It takes some time to get used to, especially coming from theater where you have a script, but it's a great break from adult life.

The concept of vagueness is why I find the episode Onesies disappointing; the message of infertility isn’t subtext-we’re actively told what is happening when it should be left to the music and the animation to tell the story. If you compare it to The Show, that episode has a blink-and-you-miss-it reference to miscarriage, and without it, the scene still functions as Bingo learning how to persevere through mistakes. Onesies offers nothing without it’s obvious theme-there’s an entire scene where the audience is told in no uncertain terms what we are seeing means, when that should be shown to us without the dialogue
