Moarte: I take enthusiastic walks through the woods.
Linkara: And kill homicidal alternate dimension versions of myself...
Moarte: *Very* enthusiastic walks.
Linkara: You really need a hobby
Moarte: YOU need to get some goddamn DSL in here!!
@@B3nKen0bi Moarte: The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. An advanced, long-range strategic reconnaissance aircraft, capable of Mach 3 and an altitude of eighty-five thousand feet!
Linkara: You sure do seem to know a lot about it.
Moarte: DO YOU EVEN READ MY CHRISTMAS LIST?
This would explain why Moarte transforms into the Host for Twilight Zone. Very nice. ^_^
Seriously though, Disney+ needs to make specials for Tomb of Dracula and The Living Mummy. They hit it out of the park with werewolf by night now I want more!
This series has 70 issues. We're gonna be here a while
Luckily, Moarte is undead, so he's got all the time in the world. LOL.
yay!
Another Midsummer's Nightmare might help with that...
@@Inspiration_Date I'd be down for that.
Either we get another Midsummer’s Nightmare or we get 67 more years of Longbox. Either way, we win!
Given how the Twilight Zone Longbox saga ended this origin might be the closest to true.
I love the recurring segments and also the Lore at the end of this video
Moarte: "Ladies and gentlemen, good-evening, you'll see, that seeing is believing, your eyes and your ears will be bleeding. Please check to make sure you're still breathing!"
"Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends! We're so glad you could attend!"
no matter how many times i see it, i always think that shovel digging into the dirt is some monster eye opening up :P
If the Marvel Cinematic Universe decides to release some more Halloween specials in the future after the success of Werewolf by Night, I'm sure they'll also do Tomb of Dracula, or have him be mentioned in the upcoming Blade reboot, and give Marvel's Dracula a better interpretation than in Blade: Trinity when he was played by the brother from Prison Break.
Honestly, Blade Trinity seems a step up from the compressed adaptation that we got from Toho in the 70s. Yes, this got an anime film. The entire 70 issue run of this volume/series... compressed to 90 minutes.
The brother from prision break 😂 also known as HEATWAVE
@@gracekim25 Heh i was just wondering was he Hot OR cOLD
I'm just seeing so much Tomb of Dracula material recently.
Did you know: It was made into an anime. It has the first appearance of Blade. Has art from the great Gene Colan.
It may even have Dracula in it... but that's more of a rumor... until now.
Awesome! We're getting to the stories with Quincy Harker's vampire hunters! Here's hoping Moarte gets to talk about Varnae the First Vampire one of these days.
Is it wrong that I'm slightly more interested in The lore section instead of the actual review?
Not at all
Notes from a B-Movie Extra;
Tomb of Dracula was actually a rather good series for Marvel at the time. In fact, if rumors are to be believed, it was selling more than Spider-Man or The Avengers....which is why they decided to cancel it due to "low sales"(in their kid market that is).
As a note, between all of the Morarte origins were getting this season, I like the idea of the Radio/Anthology Host(it's basically the same origin, just a different medium used) as it would fit better with what we see him doing in screen...
Counselor Nate signing off,
Happy Fall Y'all!
So, essentially, it sold a lot, but the buyers of the series WEREN'T ordering the novelty crap in the advertisements, the cut from which was what, classically, kept western comic publishers afloat instead of movies or animated adaptations? Sigh. That makes an uncomfortable amount of sense.
@@Volvagia1927 Sadly, that was the way comic's worked at the timeframe. Writers and Artists, while beloved and respected now(not to mention well paid), at the time they made less yearly than a Frycook at a Fast Food joint...
I can't speak for the sales figures, but apparently Jim Shooter didn't like the series. Still, it got a long run.
Wow sounds like their kids must have grown up to work at Cartoon Network lol
0:53 Yup! He didn’t kill her. He just took her to a farm in the country.
The Host Who Would Be Moarte: I'm a ghost telling horror stories! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!
Studio Exec: ...Meh.
Marvel is having a Halloween sale on digital comics.
I like how we started with Dracula here, in a more traditional setting. Before later, he would become part of the Marvel Universe proper. Fighting Apocalypse, Deadpool etc
I wonder will ever do the book where he fought Silver Surfer
I hope that Tomb of Dracula comes to the mcu one day. 😀👍🧛♂️
So one of Moarte's origin stories had him starting out closer to Rod Sterling than his current iteration. Huh. I guess putting this origin with a look at a "Twilight Zone" comic might've been too obvious.
I have the full run of this title! Along with the Giant-Size issues and crossovers with Doctor Strange & X-Men. My favorite Marvel character! 🦇
Long Live LOTD🥳
Linkara in these videos puts me in mind of Count Floyd, Joe Flaherty s character from SCTV.
These are so cool
Is this the comic book series that introduced the awesome Blade character?
Yessir it is
#10.
Although to be fair much like many greats the first version is not quite as cool as he will be and they dont talk about him being half vampire at leats not in what I have gotten through
Did anyone ever make a comic adaptation of One Step Beyond?? Can they? I honestly really like that show.
Spooky.
I think more things should be followed by #Dracula.
I vant to read your comic! 🦇
There’s LORE?!🤩
What if Moarte is actually an ancestor of Linkara?
I see old school monster stuff
🧛♂️🎃👍
What is the best classic marvel horror series looking a gift for my sister’s birthday she loves horror doesn’t really care for superheroes so I thought maybe she would like some of the classic horror marvel comics?
Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, or Man Thing.
Linkara what do you think about five nights at freddys
Much better than the mpreg version, "Womb of Dracula."
Wonder what Moarte would think of that.
