- WHAT IS SPIRITISM? - Allan Kardec - KNOWLEDGE OF THE INVISIBLE WORLD.
“SPIRITISM IS THE SCIENCE THAT DEALS WITH THE NATURE, ORIGIN AND DESTINY OF SPIRITS, AND THEIR RELATIONS WITH THE CORPORAL WORLD.”
THE SUMMARY OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THE SPIRITIST DOCTRINE AND THE RESPONSE TO THE MAIN OBJECTIONS.
People who only have a superficial knowledge of Spiritism are naturally driven to ask certain questions, the resolution of which they would find with a deep study; but they lack time, and often the will, to devote themselves to continuous observations.
We would like, before starting such a task, to at least know what it is about, and if it is worth taking care of it.
It has therefore seemed useful to us to offer in summary the answer that must be given to the fundamental questions that address us daily. This will be, for the reader, a first initiation, and a time saver for us, saving us from constantly repeating the same thing.
In the Introduction we give a quick overview of the history of Spiritism in ancient times, exposing at the same time its most marked appearance, in recent times, in America and Europe, and
especially in this one, where a greater number of elements have been able to come together to constitute a body of doctrine.
