    I wouldn't be happy about it if not for the SEC, but given what they're doing, it's necessary and better than the alternative. At this point it's either join a superconference or be irrelevant nationally. Hopefully the Pac 12 and Big 12 will merge because three conferences that matter is better than two - not sure where the ACC goes, though, unless they can coax Notre Dame into going all in.

    • @53toddk
      @53toddk Год назад

      Even if Notre Dame goes all-in with the ACC, the ACC TV revenue will fall well short of the BigTen & SEC schools. Long term, this makes all ACC schools susceptible to having their best coaches poached and best athletes/recruits lured away by better NIL deals offered by richer BigTen & SEC schools.

    USC’s football history and UCLA’s basketball history are both gigantic. USC football is getting back on track, and UCLA basketball is already back to national prominence. The 2024 College Football and the 2024-25 College Basketball seasons couldn’t get here soon enough. One more thing, SoFi stadium will eventually alternate with Lucas Oil stadium as the hosts/home of the Big Ten Championship game.

    Big 10 should offer Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal and, along with USC and UCLA, call it the Big 10 Pacific Division. West Coast teams could still play each other for half the league games and not have to go to Rutgers, Maryland, Illinois and Indiana. Save big on travel expenses and be the only national division. SEC is only regional.
