I've got no culture. so that's what this song means to me. even if I claimed a culture it wouldn't actually be mine.
Rachel Gross Canada we don't have a homogeneous culture here most Canadians can say "my family's Ukrainian" or Zimbabwean or Russian or Aboriginal etc and it means something. they have traditions and a worldview that is coloured by those cultural connections, I don't.
What is your favorite food then? What is a saying that is commonly said in your are? Example. I am from the South area of the United States. We conjugate you all as y'all. Its part of our culture. Its something we say that nobody else says around the world except in certain areas such as the west, midwest, and areas in the north with large populations of southern migrants. The indian immigrants in the south say y'all, the asian immigrants say y'all and the hispanic immigrants say y'all, because we share the southern culture. As a Canadian, the "I've got no culture" has an extra bit of depth. The culture I have basically boils down to "The USA but more polite", Canada is a very young and... non-populated? Undeveloped? I dunno, where people live is pretty developed, but there is a lot of places where people just don't live because development hasn't quite reached there yet. Especially in the west, my local culture is one or two hundred years old at best, contrast that with the Irish culture of my ancestors, and the Norse ancestors of theirs, my culture is completely borrowed and fake. Might be the meaning behind the whole "I'm like a kid in a candy store" line too, just a cultural mosaic... Though tbh it's not a bad thing at all, I would just like an ancestral culture of my own is all, not just an identity based on general acceptance and being a decent human being, though again I suppose that's not a bad thing at all either. Am I experiencing a first world problem? I thought I was too poor for that...

Well, some white groups have culture; Aussies have sports and the outback, the English have tea and their posh attitudes, and I guess Americans have... De Cheese Burger and internal political warfare and anger issues? XD

yo is this the fish from o my heart because
Fave song is bit by bit
Honestly this is relatable bc I am half filipino half American, however my mom grew up in Hawaii so I am more influenced from Midwestern and hawaiian culture. I feel like a fake anytime I make filipino food or anything like that. I also feel fake when I dance hula with my mom and make hawaiian food.
Its the middle of the night but I gotta listen
Same I just love mother mother and there music
My sister said he sounded like sponge bob so now that’s in my head.
yall : having great interpretations of this song, relating to it.
me : so, white people
edit, since ppl didnt understand this cmnt : i’m not saying that white ppl dont have culture lmao, the song lyrics itself refer to a lot more than simply having ‘no culture.’ the lyrics seem to describe culture appropriation which everyone knows white ppl (especially americans) do the most.
also, the annotations on genius lyrics describe this song as referring to culture appropriation and americans (: this isnt an opinion i alone have.
I mean...yeah.
white people have culture loll and not all culture is race assigned, leave
Well, some white groups have culture; Aussies have sports and the outback, the English have tea and their posh attitudes, and I guess Americans have... De Cheese Burger and internal political warfare and anger issues? XD
white people have culture, not all of us are american :)
@@ashleighchambers8468 Yeah american culture is

Hey alright
Hey alright
I am a vulture, I fly
I make a circle above your culture
I got no culture of mine
I am piranha, I bite
I make a supper outta your culture
I got no culture
And I'm like a kid in a candy store
Taking all the toffee that I don't ask for, yeah
I'm like a bull in a china shop
Knocking off a knock-off
'Cause I got no culture
I got no culture of mine
So can we let sleeping dogs lie
'Cause everyone believes me when I say it's mine
A little wool over the eyes
'Cause everyone believes me when I-
I want to love ya, I want to make ya mine
We make a child outta your culture
It got no culture
And I'm like a kid in a candy store
Taking all the toffee that I don't ask for, yeah
I'm like a bull in a china shop
Knocking off a knock-off
'Cause I got no culture
I got no culture of mine
So can we let sleeping dogs lie
'Cause everyone believes me when I say it's mine
A little wool over the eyes
'Cause everyone believes me when I say it's fine
Can we let sleeping dogs lie
'Cause everyone believes me when I-
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
I'm like a kid in a candy store
(No culture I got no culture)
Taking all the toffee that I don't ask for, yeah
(No culture I got no culture)
I'm like a bull in a china shop
(No culture I got no culture)
Knocking off a knock-off
(No culture I got no culture)
'Cause I got no culture
I got no culture
I got no culture of mine
So can we let sleeping dogs lie
'Cause everyone believes me when I say it's mine
A little wool over the eyes
'Cause everyone believes me when I say it's fine
(No culture I got no culture)
Can we let sleeping dogs lie
(No culture I got no culture)
'Cause everyone believes me when it's mine
(No culture I got no culture)
A little wool over the eyes
(No culture I got no culture)
'Cause everyone believes me when I-
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
No culture I got no culture
this song has changed me
