Y’all laughing but a lot of the cases are impossible….too many cameras, text messages, and social media evidence that tips the law to real evidence. So you really paying your attorney to find something creative to tell the judge or negotiate less time. (Btw: if you facing 25+, you’ll give your lawyer the deed to your momma house to get 10!!)

Exactly. I do civil now. Used to do criminal at a different firm. Worked on about 10 Murder cases give or take. Every single one of them waived their rights and told on themselves to the detective. AND the very obvious CI they would put in their jail cell when they book them. I’d have their families come into the office and act like I’m not busting my ass trying to get their boy a good deal and that I’m supposed to magically make the case go away because they paid the firm some money. Got one bitch 3 months probation from an original LWOP offer for attempted murder (don’t ask) and her mom STILL wasn’t happy.

If you’re familiar with California penal codes, they basically offered her to plead to a 182 and dropped the 664-187(a). Without revealing details of their identities: basically she asked her cousin to murk her baby daddy. Her cousin fortunately had terrible aim and hit the guy in the leg. She pled to the 182. Cousin pled to 245(a)(1). Attempted murder dropped for both. She got 3 years SP, he got 5 years in the pen.
Worst part is there are lawyers really this bad and just collect checks and tell you to plead guilty, hopefully to a lesser if their competent staff all.
