When you listen to Martin Mcguiness speaking since the peace process and see his actions they stand in sharp contrast to this embittered man's rant.
Mcguiness and Ian Paisley were able to rise above their base feelings of hatred, revenge and bigotry.
Norman Tebbit doesn't have that capacity and will be mourned by no one.

I can understand and respect Norman Tebbit being angry at what happened to him and his wife, but what I would say to Mr Tebbit is that many innocent Irish people throughout centuries have legitimate grievances against the British so we have to recognise that and move on in the spirit of reconciliation and peace.

It wouldn't would it, but then Martin McGuinness ended up as Deputy First Minister because by that stage the Peace Process had began.

@Quentin Lennox The IRA killed more British soldiers than civilians whereas the British army killed more civilians than they did IRA men and that's a fact. The British government has caused more innocent deaths and conflicts on this planet than the IRA ever could yet mugs like you just believe the propaganda that the empire was great and nobody ever got hurt. The British state has the blood of millions of innocent people on its hands as well as all the stolen loot from former colonies that Mrs Windsor is sitting on. Educate yourself.

@Rhys Hoffman .Whatever bitterness Irish people have towards England is more than justified just educate yourself on Irish history before you comment on something you don't understand. Unlike the Welsh or the Scots we have the balls to fight for our independence and we won't make any apologies for it. Of course not everything the IRA did was right but pales in comparison to what atrocities England committed in Ireland like the famine/genocide where Ireland lost a quarter of its population because the English left our people to starve while they shipped the food we produced around the British empire. The Welsh because of their submissiveness have had a relatively cosy existence as an English vassal state and that's fair enough but Irish people will not be denied our right to self determination and any British politician who tries to interfere in our affairs is taking their life into their own hands. So I have no sympathy for an imperialist like "Lord" Tebbit.

Whitehall knew what was coming from day one when they imprisoned people without trial and their actions against hunger strikers.
