I came here to mock you for a typo (5 instead of 6) and stayed so I could mock you incorrect Season 6 predictions.

Season 5 of Buffy is my favorite season of television. It's essentially perfect. I adore Seasons 3 & 7 too, but this is the very best IMO.

This is gold considering its pretty spot on:
    1. You want spike an buffy but can't see them together, but that they would "have fun", wish granted.
    2. You wanted more Willow and more Tera/Willow relationship, wish granted.
    3. Dark eye willow scared you, wish granted.
    4. You wanted to see Buffy come back, but with a twist on her personality/character, Wish granted.
    5. You wanted to see anya and xander marriage, well, 4/5 aint bad.

S5 was exceptional. The writing and arc of the Season was amazing, from the bewildering introduction of Dawn in E1, and the gradual reveals re The Key, it was just brilliant. I thought E7 Fool For Love was just off the charts, the foreshadowing, transitions and flashbacks with Spike telling Buffy how he killed The Slayers was amazing, especially the scene on the train in NYC in 1977. The most telling part was of course when he says 'every Slayer has a Death Wish, even you'. The Body was of course an incredible piece of Television, the best depiction of grief ever, however I have to agree The Gift was imperious as a Finale. When we realise at last that 'Death Is Your Gift' was Buffy's actual death it was stunning and heart breaking. The greatest quote from the entire show was Buffy saying ' the hardest thing in this World is to live in it', it was so profound and true. This of course was repeated back to Buffy in S6 E7 Once More With Feeling by Dawn. Again just so many brilliant episodes in this Season 5, but it is the overall arc of the story that is the best thing about this Season which was unmatched in this brilliant show.

Never late for more season 5 content. Truly my favourite. Its just an epic adventure, so different from others. That patreon comment explains it well, this seasons feels like a good book. It just keeps building up ground to the climax, everything matters

Agree, season 5 is great and enjoyed hearing your thoughts. As you have seen, you certainly got more of Willow in season 6 and, in typical Buffy fashion, it was not the way you hoped for. Will look forward to your thoughts on season 6.

You wanted Willow to show her strength?!?
You know Season 6 Willow is all your fault now, right? 🤣

I truly believe that Anya probably either:
    a) didn't actually remember how it felt - as a human, back in the year 880 - to lose someone you care about,
    or
    b) just didn't suffer much loss at all before turning into a vengeance demon that year (880, she was 20 at the time), and then as a demon never experienced these feelings either because she was mostly the one inflicting the hurt/loss and most demons (even the "poluted" ones that aren't "real" demons) don't usually feel a whole lot of empathy etc.
In both situations, I think this just makes for an even more genuine reaction from her in that one episode we ehh... won't mention... (still skip it every time now, because it is just too well done and harsh and triggers me about my own losses), and adds weight to her reactions as well. Imagine basically never having felt that, or just not remembering because you spent years and years tormenting others and enjoying it.... and then getting hit by loss that you don't even have the SLIGHTEST notion on how to cope with....
*sigh* This show, man... All of the different characters' depths and their development, the great writing and of course the excellent delivery from the actors...... Gets me every. damn. time!
Both love and hate this show so much still, lol! And the finally of s5 is the one episode with the biggest moment that never ceases to make me cry and will forever live in my head and heart, rent-free.
"The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me."
I am going to get that tattooed on me when I've finally collected enough funds to get myself a full Buffy sleeve ;)

My fav scene in s5 is in e18, after all the setup, in Buffy's living room with the scoobies and BuffyBot walks out, Buffy walks in, and BuffyBot walks back in, every line of dialogue is comedy gold. For me 5e18 is better than 3e16. Thanks to writer Jane Espenson.
How good a show is BtVS? I also used e16 to prepare for my mum passing-a masterpiece of TV and storytelling incarnate.
Fav speech: Buffy's "no review" from Checkpoint.
The way Dawn is intro'd from "OH MUM!" to e5 is genius. Plus I love the call back to "You think you know..." in s4's tone-poem coda.

Regarding Xander’s proposal - bear in mind he bought the ring to propose to her in the episode where he was split in two, right near the very beginning of the season.
He was genuinely going to propose to her anyway.

S5 is so good that a lot of people convinced themselves the surrounding seasons (4 & 6) are sub par, which imo is dead wrong. S4 has as many or more 5 star individual episodes than any other season. & S6 is the most bold & dark season with arguably the best episode of the series. You know the one...
But yeah, S5 is the real friggen deal. Go look at the Emmy awards in 2000. None of those shows or actors/creators were better than Buffy S5.

Spike is not in love with Buffy. Vampires are creatures without souls, so cannot sincerely love. They can merely approximate it.
Spike obsesses and desires to possess Buffy. And his “altruistic” actions are only performed in the service of his goal: to possess Buffy.
Spike, like all vampires, retains an echo of humanity in his vampire form (with the exception of Angelus, who is entirely and uniquely without humanity and a psychopath even by vampire standards) but without a soul, his emotions and actions are never truly heroic or altruistic.
EDIT: Well, you’ve seen season 6 now. So there we go.

Anya is not exactly young. She's more than 1100 years old.

I think she means her tenuous understanding of social norms and her integration into a human life.
I could understand that people see her as child-like, but moreover, it appears to me that she’s autistic-coded.
