OXFO OX1 is currently £200 cheaper on Indiegogo and the specs look better than this. It's lighter and folds better for transport than this. Has more torque and range as well.
@@dtz1000 How can you say the OXFO has better specs with just a 6.4Ah battery and just a 250W motor? The AIR has bigger battery and the international version has 350W+ Watt motor.
@@TechTronic9000 The specs say the OX1 has a top speed of 25mph. That is much higher than what the 350W Ado Air can do. So the motor is probably a lot more powerful than the rated 250W, but it's being restricted in the same way the Air motor is restricted. The peak power of OX1 could be 500W vs 350W for the Air. That would explain the difference in top speeds. More evidence that OX1 is more powerful can be seen in the torque numbers. The OX1 has higher torque than the 350W Air. So from just looking at these number, it looks like the motor of OX1 is more powerful. As far as range goes, the specs say 100km range for the Air and 135km range for the OX1. So maybe the motor is more efficient as well.
That 135km range for the OX1 might be achievable only with the bike turned off :) Now seriously electric motors usually have overall good efficiency (around 90%), you can get improvements of +/- 5-10% but from a 6.4Ah to 135km in comparison 9.6Ah to 100km is a an unrealistic boost of 104.25% Also we are debating a model that is not in production yet and a product with lot's of mistakes, for instance the 25"mph" speed is actually 25km/h, only the OX1 MAX model reaches 35km/h, just look better on their indiegogo campaign.
I'm glad you liked it. I will also do the new video with the throttle very soon as just a few moments ago my throttle accelerator was delivered! As for the brakes I'm just saying that the rear brakes makes noise but works very well. ADO knows already about the brake noise and it's also easy to fix, it mostly needs just a bit of adjustments.
@@federicofrancia-th4dd I have installed the throttle and did a new video test, the bike is even better now, you can see it here ruclips.net/video/x1AJ5r0UYOM/видео.html
I'm trying to use my Insta360 a bit more, but the workflow is not that friendly, as Insta is oriented on "editing" in their mobile app, while on desktop you just get basic exporting and minimal edit options, so then I have to use yet another software to actually edit the 360 footage. I'm glad that you liked the review.
Hi I finally have my AD0 air 20S....I have taken it out a few times and I really like it...Your you tube videos were so very helpful and I thank you...I have ordered the magnet as have to carry it up 3 flights of stairs...and it's although ment to be lightweight I'm getting used to it....Anyway thank you for your informative you tube videos...👍
Hi...I have bought this bike...it will come end of September...I have the international version...Does it come with the throttle....?...And a huge thank you for your informative videos...Julian 👍
I really like your review style! I have a question for you. I am 5'6.5" or 168.9 cm tall with an inseam of 68cm or 27". I am wondering if you could determine if with those measurement...would the height adjustment for the battery have part of it protruding below the frame geometry....where it might be too close to the ground? I really like this bikes geometry and design attributes. I will be looking for more of your videos and I have subscribed. Cheers from British Columbia. PS. Nothing about your review was boring....I learned more from your review than more than 20 other reviewers that I checked out.
Hi, Just bought myself an Ado Air 20, can you tell me is it normal on the display it shows a red circle when you hit the brakes but goes off as soon as you let go of the brakes? Thanks
Hi, I'm looking at buying the Ado Air 20 International version, I live in the UK, can you tell me is the motor printed with 250w or 350w? as are laws here only allow at the moment 250w motors, also does it come fitted with the thumb throttle as this is also not allowed, but I think the laws might be changing here soon, allowing a motor of 500w with a throttle.
Can you legally use the international version in Germany without the throttle installed? Is the size of the motor printed on the motor and if so, what is the motor size? Is the CE certificate the same on the EU and international model?
Hi After ordering my bike 4 September.. It arrived today...Saddle will come end of the month..I will hopefully buy a temporary saddle tomorrow...My question is..I have the international version 350 motor and they have supplied the throttle..Can I use the maximum power by unlocked the bike as per your video and use without the throttle as throttle baned in the uk...Ps they say its light but it weighs a bloody ton lol😂..perhaps it's my age....but again my friend...thank you for your informative videos....I'm finally looking forward to getting about...Kind regards Julian.
The final more advanced international version is a bit heavier. I have the 350W motor and that alone adds on more kg. Yet it's still a very light and smart bike.
It vastly depends on a lot of factors such as rider weight, tire pressure, battery temperature, the speed, the terrain, etc. Using just electric mode and no pedaling especially with speed unlocked will drain the battery very fast.
I'm confused. I can't tell if I want a folding e-bike or a Brompton T-Line. Each has its pros and cons. 250 watts on the ADO doesn't seem like enough power. If it were 500 watts it would be even heavier.
250W is nominal sustained power, has nothing to do withe peak power. You should also join the ADO facebook group, there is a new PRO model coming and it has an "automatic gearbox" in for of a wheel hub that has built in automatic gears.
Unfortunately, your weight of 85kg and the "non-EU" 350W motor means your review tells me nothing about the performance I can expect as I weigh 115kg and live in the 250W location......
Well, the bike might not be suited for you at all as it's rated to a max weight of 120kg. You can also join the largest and official owners group and ask there other rider impressions. Maybe there are heavier riders that will share the experience. Here is the link for the group facebook.com/groups/adobike01
@@TechTronic9000 As I understand it, your motor is "locked" in this video and has the same performance as the 250W version. Or does it have more power? How steep is the hill you climbed in %?
The international version motor is physically bigger and heavier than the 250W version. It also has more torque. As for the the road, there is no marking but i can guesstimate it for ~12%, maybe a bit more. I use that as a benchmark as most of my low powered "250W" rideable devices will not get up or will just crawl.

Definitely needs to be weighed as Ado were lying about the weight and I think they still are.

I heard that it has a lot of small flaws and is not water resistant, right? I am planning to buy it, please let me know if it is stable and durable
Not right :) Maybe you should search for proper info such as seeing the color LCD working fully immersed underwater.

The throttle will come later as a separate package, you will install it, it's very easy, I have a video about that on my channel.
how did you get it in that nice color? i only see the option for grey, Ivory and Blue.
Mine is the grey one. That is how it looks in reality.
Lovely vid, thank you!
Do you miss the suspension /shock absorber?
For normal city usage it's ok with no suspension.

For 168cm which you can approximate for 170, you will be fine and you won't need to adjust the battery too low.
@@TechTronic9000 thank you for much for checking!
I wonder how much the model with the front suspension is going to cost.
From what I know it should be listed in just a few days.
Is this bike fine for going up hills?
Yes, the torque sensor will help you with that.

The international version comes printed with "250W" so you don't need to worry, it also works without the throttle.
The battery can be disassembled to replace and assemble a new battery
If you really need to do that then yes, you can rebuild it.
Can you legally use the international version in Germany without the throttle installed? Is the size of the motor printed on the motor and if so, what is the motor size? Is the CE certificate the same on the EU and international model?
Yes you can, the bike come with 250w printed on the motor just to be safe. It also locked to 25km/h, so it won't be any problem with the law.
Thanks for the quick reply:-)

Rear mudguard / fender completely useless in the UK or anywhere it rains (most places); and almost everyone needs a rack. Then not so light.
You can get a complete upgrade set with normal mudguards and rear rack bit.ly/3RICysn
