Did an architect designed this cart, most of them do more than needed. A great job though, as usual. If I'd be a bit younger, like 45-50 years, I'd build one for TIG , MIG and Plasma, on top of one another. I really appreciate all extra, high quality work you put into this job.
Brilliant as always Tony! Where else can we go to watch high quality fab work, and the day's needed dosage of laughs? Looks like you been eyeballing my newly painted welder...
Your sense of humour is unbelievably funny. I don’t know where you get your ideas, but it is as funny as hell. Thanks Tony. You inspire me to do more around my workshop.
Fantastic build and use of space. At odds with the wife today and this brought happiness and joy to my afternoon/mancave. ..the 3 beers didn't hurt either.
Nothing says welding cart project like a full explanation of "self closing drawer". Came to see some welding and learned of Viscous damper. Great channel, tho'
The editing in the last 5 seconds was quite impressive. Love the content - definitely have super high quality information with some damn good jokes sprinkled in. Have referred a few family members to this channel because we all are builders and some of us in professional industries that require the machining and trade mechanical skillsets.
Starting at 06:15 with a squeaky sharpie followed by the honking drill and at 6:35 "But for good measure I think I'm just gonna drrrrrrrrrrr..., I had to watch this scene more than twice because of the tears in my eyes :) Thanks for the good laugh, great Video!
You're a Saturday morning tradition in my home. My sons run down stairs, eat breakfast, get dressed, and we'll turn on one of your videos in the garage while we work on something. Thanks for putting out all the energy and time, you're appreciated.
Tell me you've never made something from scratch, without telling me you've never made something from scratch lol. His materials cost are higher than just buying a completed cart. You don't save money on these projects, you probably spend 25-50% MORE.
Nothing on RUclips gets me as exited as a new video from This Old Tony. You slay me, sir! I've been following your channel long enough to know exactly what would happen right after scoring the corner of that sheet metal, yet I still chuckled when you snapped the corner off like a sheet of glass. I laughed out loud and chuckled several times through this video as with any of your other videos. (The foley replacing the dead mic got me good!) And while the humor does good things to me and the actual projects, narrative and educational aspects are absolute gold, the editing is just so quirky and spot on! Keep up the good work!
Theres something special about a feller that can record himself making a welding cart in his shop (something I care nothing about) and somehow create some of the most entertaining content on youtube. Bravo sir. Bravo indeed. 👏
Why aren't there any woodworkers as funny and entertaining as TOT is with his metalworking? Roy Underhill is the closest I can think of, but you really have to enjoy corny jokes to appreciate him.
The clue is at 13:02 - it ended up blue because the straps you had happened to be blue, and of course no self-respecting welder would want to be seen with non-color-coordinated gear...
You literally killed me when you translated "fabriqué en chine" as Made in France ^^' By the way thanks for your videos, you are probably one of the youtuber I enjoy the most so far!
I find it hard to realize that I've spent nearly an hour watching a series about building a welding cart! T.O.T. has a very real way of making even the most mundane items( self closing drawer latches) FAR more interesting than ever believed possible!! What an incredible gift, not to mention the sense of humor as a bonus!! GREAT WORK!
A though; would it be possible to cut a thin sheet of hardened steel (before tempering) with a glass cutter? Or would the grain structure mess that up?
Makin Sumthin From Nuthin fucking drawer slides. A few years ago, I replaced the slides on my in laws garbage. Took two minutes, and it still works perfectly. So far, I've had three attempts at doing my own, and the bastard thing is still fubared
You can buy that kind of trim in meter lengths from paper supplies as binder backs, edges, or whatever they are called. Also, they come in colors in that variant so you can assort your cart to "be fashionable". But seriously, that blue is eye damaging. Not ugly, but yeah.
"*jump cut* Blue. I made the darn thing blue." That line got me in trouble TOT. Sitting there watching in bed while the Mrs slept and all of a sudden I'm laughing my ass off. I'll enjoy a few more videos here on the couch.
Well it is finally complete. Even with the soft close drawer (that is what they are called here in Comiefornia). Love the keyless entry and remote start.
The first switch you showed would almost certainly be fine with your welder. The switch can *break* 35A and 110V *simultaneously*, which means that it can *carry* a least a bit more than 35A. While it can only *break* 20A at 220V, the welder will never be consuming that much power while your trying to turn it on and off -- while idle, the welder presumably uses well under 10A. So can it *carry* the 35A required while operating? Yes. Can it *break* well under 10A at 220V? Yes. All boxes checked, the switch is fine -- unless you try to operate the switch while the welder is drawing 35A, i.e., welding.

Just got in from work. It’s 1am. Everyone is sleeping. Im sitting here at the table eating reheated take out and I’m laughing out loud about the “mom” rivet bit. Love your humor man and your videos always teach me something new as well. Thanks for the chuckle!
ahhhh... entertaining, as always. Thank you, thank you, Tony-- for good humor and fine workmanship. Honestly, this puts anything on broadcast TV to shame. I was sad that it came to an end, and I know I'm not the only one.
Are you running the high pressure gas straight from the cylinders to the 3 way mixing valve? Then to the regulator, and to the machine? If so I'm surprised that tubing and fitting can handle 3000+PSI
Tony, no matter how bad or good my day is, you always manage to make smile or laugh out loud. Really enjoy your videos and I always stop anything I'm doing in order to watch and enjoy. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for all the valuable information. Since I’m that kind of guy I thought I’d share some of mine. For my rod holders I cut to length four 2 inch I d PVC water supply pipe, added caps on each end and let them lie amongst 2 inch square tubing next to the shop. Watering them three times a week for one year. After that cleaned them up and painted them blue. Now I have four square plastic containers with lids to keep my rods almost corrosion free. ;)
I must say your welding cart turned out way nicer than my cart. Although I had a busy help 😬. One thing my htp water cooler has is a flow alarm. So say you step on the hose and no water is flowing through the torch an alarm will sound. Very useful... As always great video 👍🏻
It took me WAY too long to get the mom and pop rivets joke. That was golden

i learned it by watching you.
check out project binky
TOT: Haha! Nancy Reagan era anti-drug PSA ref---for the kids watching these vids--wait, kids watch these? Who doesn't have an Interocitor?
Damn you!!! For a good 10 seconds I was sitting there thinking "WTH is a MOM rivet?"
10 seconds? or 5 minutes? , yeah i was same until the humour following it.
You were not alone!!!
Johan - maybe the DAD rivets could be POP rivets.
Oh damn, it was a joke, ok now I get it.
I was surprised he used a tool for those... With his usual carefull editing, it could've be done with fingers
So satisfying seeing that drawer come together, really nice design!
Excellent video series! Sad to see it end. I watch This Old Tony like some folks watch Game of Thrones.
Tony Baggett like there's any other way to watch it. Separation anxiety after every episode.
spancer87 this is true.
Game of Tony :)
definately This Old Tony before GOT. much more interesting.
Exactly
Your sense of humour is unbelievably funny. I don’t know where you get your ideas, but it is as funny as hell. Thanks Tony. You inspire me to do more around my workshop.
From one old guy to another...... Love the cart and the "BLUE" is PURRRRFIT!!!!
I was watching Ave , he can wait.
Yep looks like ToT takes the title from Ave today... That said, gotta go put my &^ back in a vice.
ditto
Shots Fired!
They're friends, idiot.
Same. Ave is awesome, but this guy Tony I know. He's old and the best.
If Jimmy Diresta and Ave had a weird little kid this would be the channel he created. Awesome content, keep it up.
Great cart and hilarious video. Thanks Tony.
I'm glad you're so comfortable with us that you're willing to expose your drawers
Mom rivets, you got me on that one.
Me too.
Yeah ... me too til I read this
Yes! Because the bond better over time. Brilliant!
Please... tell me there weren't a few moments in which I planned to google mom rivets.
Damn, got me too.
Well Done, Tony! 10⭐weld cart, 10⭐camera play, 10⭐overall creativity and explanation.
Thanks Domeless!
1 4/8 MM isn't commonly stocked but if you ask the burly guy behind the counter he can usually get you some in.
In France would it be 1 30/60?
LOL... I don't know what is better. Your skills or your comedy. Both are great. The cool blue works. Very nice.
11:42
Deep down inside...
Tony is a Miller lover!
I love your channel keep it up.
You may not be able to see it now, but the color is utterly perfect. Honestly and truly. :)
The editing in the last 5 seconds was quite impressive. Love the content - definitely have super high quality information with some damn good jokes sprinkled in. 'Bend it like Beckham' ROFL - best joke in the series. Bravo.

Man after my own heart, Only Temporary, 4-5 years, maybe. Love your humor Tony great as usual.
I do like to have a bit of a chuckle while I watch a good video . Well Done
Dear Welding-Diary: Today i welded another clamp shut.
Today I celebrated dipping my 100th tungsten in the puddle, followed by jerking back and stabbing myself in the hand with the hot tungsten.
Keyless entry! Thats what makes this the best channel on youtube! Im going to go add keyless entry to my tool box
just don't hit the wrong button while you're trying to adjust the settings. the drawer has blind sided me twice now.
Riveting the draw glides in place is the bravest think I have ever seen next to jumping out of a moving boat into a group of alligators. lol
that sounds like a challenge, Dale. Are you daring me?
Fabrication comedy hour, thanks Tony another very enjoyable video.
I watched this video three times. One for build and two times for comedy.
Maaaaaan that blue-purpleish color came out sooooo freakin' good.I think i got a new favourite color 😀.
This and the Go-Kart need to get married.
what would those kids look like?
Only one way to find out.
@@ThisOldTony a gas power self-propelled welder
When you make it your self, you save lots of money, but got something money can't buy. Looks really nice!

did you just imperialize metric? hahaha
Great, I wish that others on youtube had at least 1/10 of your sense of humor.
Cheers

Frank Horwath does alright...
Frank is great but his delivery doesn't have the smooth deadpan humor of this channel.
Stumpy nubs was really funny
pól laurits Abrahamsenjq Stumpy nubs just nearly lived up to his name.
So many details on this awesome video the switch : This Old Tony (T0T) to This 1 Tony (T1T) - well done Tony, well done
The clue is at 13:02 - it ended up blue because the straps you had happened to be blue, and of course no self-respecting welder would want to be seen with non-color-coordinated gear...
wouldn't be caught dead with a mismatched strap!
That bright blue is Boss!!!
meanwhile the welder is red, but that is passable
I just get giddy with excitement to see your videos so keep up the good work 👍
Wow! That was an excellent one. Love the "1 4/8mm". These video must take you longer to make than the project you are showing.
Thanks
This guy really, really fuels my inferiority complex. Thank you sir for sharing your incredible talent.
ha! my pleasure thanks for watching!

Great job. I need to eventually put together an all terrain cart for dragging my welder outside.
Very nice cart and as always a great sense of humor. Mom and Pop rivets. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
I need that "glass" cutter.
Makes you wonder what he cuts glass with?
Jigsaw, probably...
A though; would it be possible to cut a thin sheet of hardened steel (before tempering) with a glass cutter? Or would the grain structure mess that up?
Tjita1 Isn’t the glass cutter also hardened steel?
That’s a really good question though
Favorite comedy style! Thanks for all the content

Dang, my drawer slides were Fabrique en Chimes, and they just make noise constantly
awesome! A smile started to accumulate as soon as i saw TOT released another video
riveting!
Practical Renaissance now that's the bad dad joke spirit. This is the place where it is actually funny to hear them.
haha so funny!
Those Kant Twist clamps are entirely too adorable.
Perfect before bed viewing!
Accolades, laudation and a zephyr of smoke blown up.... Insert dashpot here for balance reasons. Tony you are 180 proof! Thanks for the time!

You can also buy it in better rubber quality meant for sheetmetal. Some has metal clips embedded in it to hold it closed.
Milk these projects as long as you want, no matter how long they go on the quality of each video never dips 😳
1 4/8 mm? why not use 1 6/12 mm's? Crazy.
patriotsriot cause it's more expensive than 1 3/6 mm.
not to forget to mention the 1 2/4mm. Very, very expensive xD
Zakly
Do you even know how long it took me to figure out that this was code for one and a half mm
Here in the US, we use 48/32nds mm. At least that's how they taught it to me in grade school back in the 70s.

Again, you sir, is the best youtuber in existence
You're not going to do a part 4 of 3? *disappointed*
We know where the dislikes came from^^^^.
That's where he goes over the remote start and keyless entry, pay attention!
GREAT build!!! In South Africa they don't lie to us. We call it a soft close drawer slide...
Knew when he was overdoing it with the squeaky pen that something good was coming.
I love the fact that the drawer he throws in the trashbin in beginning is the actual drawer he will be making. These videos are just excelent

interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks HST!
What’s the PN on the switch you used? I have a HTP 221 too and don’t like the rear mount switch.
Yes. But what's the inrush current. Could be quite high to charge all the capacitors. Put a meter on it before you commit.
“Mic battery died” 😂 you tony, never cease to amaze me, funny stuff man.

Strong work Tony. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
omg that glass cutter trick
That’s one hell of a slick cart. Very nicely done.
The video has been up for maybe 5 minutes.. how is there already a dislike? This guy is awesome!
I think it was AvE. A bunch of us temporarily abandoned ship when the notification went up.

Hey... Who are you calling a viscous dashpot?
(Sorry... I couldn't help myself...)
Loved the "Bend it Like Beckham" reference. When my kids were little, I actually took them to see that movie. Nice work on the drawer, and thumbs up.
thanks Ken!
1 and 4/8 mm, funny :-)
Actually 16G is nearer to "1 and 5/8"mm (but if you buy metric sheet, the nearest to 16G is indeed 1.5mm)
Yes, sure, but he said 1 and 4/8 mm (on purpose, as a joke) instead of 1 and 1/2 mm... that´s the funny part... :-)
Man, a remote ignition welding cart, you are coming up in the world.
You still have open corner joints! Arrrrgh! :)
closing those holes will be *Part 4 of 3* and will probably involve his replacement for the Large Hadron Collider.
Thank you for all the valuable information. Since I’m that kind of guy I thought I’d share some of mine. He painted it blue because he's secretly holding out for the Miller channel sponsorship.

I must say your welding cart turned out way nicer than my cart. Although I had a busy help 😬. One thing my htp water cooler has is a flow alarm. So say you step on the hose and no water is flowing through the torch an alarm will sound. Very useful... As always great video 👍🏻
nice. on a scale of 1 to 10, how loud is the HTP cooler? let's say 5 = the welder fan itself.
